CanadaAny other Canadians concurrently filing I-130 and I-485?

Hi all-

Are there any other Canadians being sponsored via concurrent filing of I-130 and I-485 who can share their experience/timelines?

I feel familiar with the process and paperwork required since my sister in law went the DCF route ( from Canada ) and they just moved this past April. However, I am still slightly intimidated by the warning clause that a person should know if they are eligible for concurrent filing from within the US before they do so. Before I pay $200 to meet with a lawyer to tell us, I thought I'd ask you all here in the Canada regional forum. How do you know if you are eligible to do so and what is eligibility based on?

Also, what are your experiences with the Advance Parole Card? Has anyone had any trouble re-entering the US from Canada with a APC?

Thank you very much for any input you can share-

Peace to all. Jenn

Time lines are your friends: http://www.visajourn...t...da&dfile=No

If you absolutely need to set a wedding date, why not marry first and then file for a spousal visa.

Don't set a wedding date until you have the K-1 visa in hand.

thx : ) the spousal visa being the K-3/CR-1, right?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurescanadian fiance-feasible or not?wedding in may!
Hi all-very glad i discovered this forum. its been tremendous help so far just learning all the lingo/ropes.

OK: We are: engaged as of Dec 30th- he lives in Canada (BC) I live in WA, USA
Wedding is May 10th.

Original plan: I would move north and we start out up there. Get on our feet financially, then the plan is to come back to the US asap.

(We've been under the impression that it takes longer for him to come this way, than it does for me to go there first)

My boss brought up a good point however.(He doesn't want to lose his only employee and so has been throwing options at me) He asked why we haven't considered getting married by justice of peace so that my fiance can begin paperwork to move here. My question is if its even feasible for me to think that he may have paperwork somewhat began so that he could possibly move down here within a short amount of time after our wedding? And other questions too- would he HAVE to live up there and I here if we go that route? I know there is a ton of sites that I can get info off of as far as timelines for certain applications/forms, but I wondered if there was a general opin on our situation, beings as you's are obviously much for experienced with all this... and my boss wants an answer by the end of the week as to whether or not I plan to move, hence the urgent post here

There are obviously other factors involved here too- he has his own construction business there and construction is slow here currently, I have a good job, but cannot support us both here etc etc.

And so, I am tempted to stick with our original plan, but fiance has a few cousins who've been in our situation and been able to live in Canada for just a short while, even 2 months, and then they moved to the states. ( and I don't think that his cousins did the marriage by justice of peace thing to get the ball rolling. )
Is there something I'm missing ? wacko.gif thanks for any input!!
