ChinaDS-230 & I-864 Questions
QUOTE (coolgt @ Jul 26 2008, 12:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
no you don't have too, but it better if you do.
since u in china and you have a cosponsor.
all they have to do is go to the city clerk office and notarized it only take 5 mins w/ two form of ID

Thanks again!

At this point, from reading all over the internet, do anything and everything legally and honestly that
wouldn't hurt the approval process. kicking.gif

ChinaDS-230 & I-864 Questions
QUOTE (coolgt @ Jul 24 2008, 10:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
you should put both, since they need your residency in the US.
question 12 is your mailing address use China
residence address use your father, since u r not permanent living in China

Thanks coolgt! good.gif

I was deciding to do that. Since, I cannot use my foreign earned income, I am
waiting for my brother-in-law's I-864 as joint sponsor; also, a letter from my father
stating he would like us to live at his residence. Does my I-864 need to be notarized?

Thanks again!

ChinaDS-230 & I-864 Questions
Actually, I figured out the answer to the DS-230 question. I will put my name but for question 21(a) the answer will be none.

Still need an answer for the I-864.

Thanks.

ChinaDS-230 & I-864 Questions
Hi All,

I need your help in answering Question 14 of the DS-230 form and Question 12/13 of Part 4 of the I-864 form.

I am the petitioner, USC, and in China. Got approval that our marriage status is IR-1 after the petition was successful.
We also received package 3.

DS-230 - Question 14:
Name of spouse, etc.

My question here is that, should she put me under this area?
The confusion is that Question 21 (a and cool.gif refer to this part, who will accompany my wife now or at a later time.
Of course I will accompany my wife to the US, but not as an immigrant, as I understand it.

I-864 - Part 4: Question 12/13
Address Issues

I have been working in China for the past 5 years, and so must re-establish my US residence (no problem here).
For question 12, do I put where I presently live (that is, China) or my father's address in the US?

Thanks in advance for your answers and quick replies.

Valen & Jenna

PSB, and then have them translated to English at the Notary office.

Ditto! My wife got her's from her hometown in Jiangxi since her ID card is
issued from there. We're going to the city's official notary to get it translated.

ChinaChina specific: Birth Certificate problem
For my wife's Birth Certificate, the notary officer asked for the household registration and made a photocopy. Like coolgt said,
if she is unmarried then she would still be in her parents household book. If she is married to a Chinese National, then her
name is removed from her parents' and then added to her husband's. Both of you will need to continue convincing the parents.

I hope that all will work out for the best! Don't give up!

ChinaPink 'R' we
My SO's interview was today and she passed.

Details:
1. Arrived at the Consulate at 7AM, and the lines were disorganized.
2. Security Guard came with a megaphone and organized lines
according to interview time.
3. It took forever to get inside the building, but eventually entered at
7:45 AM.
4. We stayed together for awhile on the 4th floor.
5. 10 minutes later she allowed to enter the 4th floor (gave her a big
SMOOCH) and eventually the 5th.
6. Waiting! Toilet Break! Waiting! Toilet Break! Waiting!
7. At 10:55, wife appeared with a big smile and holding that pink
paper.
8. Took another toilet break.
9. Her details:
a. Handed in the medical package; she was told to open it; the
lady asked a few questions; handed in the AOS; same lady
asked a few more questions.
b. Paid the IV Fee, and took the receipt to the medical window; SO
was now given a number (for fingerprinting and interview).
c. Fingerprinting was next and then the interview.
d. The VO was a young Asian woman, and asked few questions. My
wife spent about 1-2 minutes only. Got the congratulations!
e. After interview, did the visa pickup scheduling and fee paying.
10. Visa will be picked up 2 days later.

Hey guys I have a quick question I was hoping yall could help me with. Well after going through this visa process for almost a year now unsure.gif we got pregnant and the baby is now born kicking.gif . Does any body know how hard it is to get the child to come over. Do I have to do the visa process all over again? wacko.gif

Please Help good.gif

Congratulations on the new addition! With a USC parent the child is automatically a US citizen, and needs no visa;
however you do have to file with the embassy "Report of a Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America".
Give them a call and then get the paperwork going so you can get a passport for your little one. It's painless compared to the visa process (at least it used to be)!

Congrats first of all!
As long one of you is a USC, the child automatically becomes a USC.
Just as Thai Family and others stated, complete the form. Get it done ASAP.
At least, that's what they say in China.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-864 Question
If you don't have enough income to surpass the 125% Poverty Guidelines, then you need a joint sponsor (co-sponsor).
As long as the joint sponsor makes more than the said 125% Poverty Guidelines, you will have NO PROBLEMS!!!
Just fill your I-864, get the documented proofs; also, the joint sponsor will do the same.

Best of luck!
