Right thanks a lot Alexndillion :)
Just the Internet confuses me. Cause I was looking and there was so much stuff saying that Texas don't do the k1 but clearly they are. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Our i129f application was sent to the Texas lock box address on the site and we have our noa1 all ready
And our receipt code begins with the SRC etc.
so to my knowledge our application is being done through TSC. BUT I have read that the TSC don't do k1 visa apps confused can someone help

USCIS Service CentersI129f approvals times.
Ok this isn't sour grapes but I was just looking through igors list and how is it that people who filed after me and others are getting approved before surely they should do these applications in order they receive them how's it fair they just pick ones out they want to. I don't understand this procedure seems very disorganized

USCIS Service CentersTSC September filers processed before July filers.?!?!?

Got no idea, but share your feelings. I was ready to wait, but was not ready to find "oh-hello-noa2-in-10-days-what-to-do"-posts almost every day while waiting. It is too much sleepy.gif
I thought that the processing time depends mostly upon the country from where the beneficiary comes but now it seems they use a random numbers generator.

It's a joke, I am happy for people who are approved I just think We sent ours in earlier we should be before and people who filed before me should be approved before me just first come first serve.

USCIS Service CentersTSC September filers processed before July filers.?!?!?

Hopefully that one that got done in 19 days was either a fluke or I would hope all would get done in that time frame.  Mind you I woldnt mind if mine got done today.  But the fairness part of me hope that they more or less take in the order that they got them in.

Exactly! It should be first come first serve I think. Just so stupid they over look people. Like who are they to do that. Is it cause me and my fiancée are young? Why the longer wait.

USCIS Service CentersTSC September filers processed before July filers.?!?!?
Wow it's so amazing seeing all the September fillers being approved before the July filers really looks like the TSC knows what it is doing. The other an application was approved in 19 days yet me and many others are made to what, on what grounds? Seems fair wish I hadn't had rushed to get my application in as early as possible cause I could of been approved if I just waited till September.

Rant over. Cheers

United KingdomWhen we finally get our visa how do I move money over to the US

It's true it's not smuggling if you declare it, but I was pointing out you would need to comply with the law.  Putting $320,000 in your pocket and waltzing on a plane with it and handing the customs guy your form noting the cash in your pocket may not be illegal, but it also might be the dumbest way to get the money transferred. I have to think there are way better options, which is why I think a lawyer is needed.

Oh I never planned on carrying the cash. I never carry more than 50 on me at a time, I was just wondering if I could open an account in the US from England and transfer the funds over I know it would cost me to do this but it'd be worth it. So confusing guess we will have to seek legal advice. I've never had this kind of money I never thought I would actually so this is all last minute stuff wish is piling on top things that need to get done already

United KingdomWhen we finally get our visa how do I move money over to the US

Bringing cash in is not smuggling.  You declare it in your customs forms.  The end.

She has a separate tax issue, to figure out if an inheritance is taxed (presumably it was already taxed when the grandfather got it) but moving the money is not hard.

It's my money I'm moving from England to US I don't see how it should be taxed when it's his savings that he saved in England and it was from work he was taxed from in England so it's stupid if it has to be taxed again, but I didn't plan on smuggling it that's why I asked what's the correct process I don't want to lose all that money as we have plans for it already we want to buy a home straight out and a car and the rest will be useful till I get my ead to work

Ok so I told my grandfather that I will be moving to the US soon and what I didn't know he is giving us inheritance money and I'm getting mine early as I won't be around and it's going to be £200,000 which in dollars is about $322,222 how do I take this with me to the US

United KingdomHow do I get an interview at London embassy?
Ok so we have our case number after calling all the time I just don't understand how I get an interview at the embassy in London? Can someone please explain the process cause I really don't get it at all.

I think I have to do the medical first then they give me an interview date, am I right?

JessicacallumNot TellingUnited Kingdom2013-11-23 17:46:00
United KingdomHow do I know if the embassy has my case yet?

If you check your status on the CEAC website using your case number it will say. My case changed from 'in transit' to 'Ready' when the embassy had received my case. Then I received a letter in the post a few days later from the embassy saying they had received it as well.
Hope that helps and good luck!

How long does that typically take?

Post 4. Make sure all three steps are complete. Then read the bit in red.

I had my medical on the 23rd of December and on the 3rd of January my ceac was updated. That'll be the embassy receiving my medical results I presume as I did the readiness form the first week of December

United KingdomGeneral information on packet 4 k1
So my interview is on January 29th 2013 but I still haven't received packet 4 which was sent out on the 7th, so by all means I was worried and panicking but I contacted the embassy in London through the contact form and for and email back the same day which is fast. Here is what I was told so just for future reference to anyone who goes trough the same.

We can confirm that your appointment for a fiancé visa interview has been scheduled for January 29 at 9:30. Written confirmation was sent to you on January 7.

If your letter does not arrive in time you need not be concerned, as you may bring a printed copy of this email exchange to show to the security personnel, if requested. Ensure that you carefully review our website at http://photos.state....appt_letter.pdf for important information relating to your visa interview.

United Kingdomk1 interview

hi, sorry im the benefactory and no I have a POlish passport, but I have been a UK resident for over 9 years.

I would strongly suggest contacting the embassy through this http://london.usemba...ntact_form.html

And asking them directly. Don't forget to include our case number in the message.

You don't lie full stop. I don't need to explain the consequences of lying under oath to a Consular Officer, do I?

Is what said? "I suggest you don't lie to them" was a word of advice as they'll know. Don't understand why you made it sound like I broke a law

Congratulations on your approval, less than two weeks before my interview! What type of questions did they ask?

Basically got in the embassy sat down for ages got called to the desk where an American guy took all the paper work explained a few things and told me to take a seat and wait to be called back again. Then I was called and this time I had a very nice American lady she asked me where I met Jessica, when did we decide we wanted to marry?, have I met her family?, do she have a brother? Is her older or younger? How did you propose? I just suggest you don't lie to them cause they are very nice.

We got our appointment confirmation letter in the mail yesterday. Now we just sit back and wait for the interview... smile.png

I just got back from mine it's the most nerve racking thing I've ever been through, got approved though the first guy seemed kinda rude but the last interview the lady was lovely couldn't of been any nicer an was really interested in our relationship, which I think helps.

Hi Guys,

I got my letter in the post today! Interview Feb 11th at 9am! Finally!

Thanks for all your advice.

Lucky you lol, I never got an appointment letter or it never came so I had to email the embassy so they could email me it, I don't understand why they can't do that anyway it's faster safer and garunteed to arrive. Anyway make sure you pay the visa fee before your interview

I would echo calling again.  Some people are helpful on that line; some people are not so helpful.

You are able to call them you know?  It doesn't have to be the USC who calls, although it is often easier because of the time difference.  I did ALL the calling for us - when I was in the UK, I would use Skype to place the calls.  At least DOS doesn't put you on hold for as long as NVC!

So right I called myself through Skype cause getting Jessica to do it was painful she's lovely but so ditsy bless her. I was lucky enough to get two nice people I called then called again two days later make sure

United KingdomPost-medical at Knightsbridge... now what?

Hi,

My partner tried calling the DOS this morning as our status changed on Tuesday. However they said they couldn't give us information about it and that we had to call London????

Anyone else had this problem?

Not at all they told me our interview date. Call again sounds like you got someone who just doesn't want to do anything, make sure you press 1 then 0 on the options to get through to the right place

JessicacallumNot TellingUnited Kingdom2014-01-22 09:38:00
United KingdomPost-medical at Knightsbridge... now what?

Thank you Anna Grant, Jessica Callum and others, who have suggested that we may have received some misinformation. While we are still in the process of trying to get a definitive answer, it appears that you are correct - the agent who booked our appt at 703-439-2367 should not have booked our appointment. The frustrating part is we were merely trying to get a status update from him - he was the one who suggested we book the appointment, despite our telling him we do not have an appointment letter. The other frustrating thing is that we have already booked a flight from Edinburgh to London, and hotel and this could end up being wasted money...

After 4 additional phone calls and getting different answers each time (i.e. the "Misinformation Line"), we were given a link to a contact form at the Embassy, who hopefully can advise us of what to do next. It seems likely we'll be told to just wait for the appointment letter, I will post when I have further update. A shame this has been such a roller coaster of a day... sad.png

Get the US citizen to call this number (202) 485-7600 in the options press 1 then 0 and you will speak to someone ask them for the interview date they'll ask for you names dates of birth and case number and they'll tell you. This is the DOS number. The uk citizen can call this too by adding +1 to the beginning but it will be costly to call the US.

Remember this is the DOS

Don't rely on getting your interview letter my interview is a week away and I never received it. Call that's number and find out trust me I did it this way. Sorry you was messed around.
