Canada	case complete at nvc	I talked to Montreal today. They are unable to tell me anything about when I might see an interview date. They did tell me however that: - They are experiencing huge backlogs - They are currently booking appointments for late June and early July (Take a look at the whole thread that post is quoted from.) And that's if they already had your application, sent you packet 3 and got it back from you, examined it and found everything in order, which can take 2 or 3 months in and of itself. So my guess is that you and I (and other people in a similar fix) are in for a long wait until August or September. But I SO hope that I'm wrong about that! The OP is going for CR-1, which is different then K-1. When he says "case complete at NVC" he means that he's sent back his packet 3, including his DS-230, 864, police certificate, long form birth certificate -- everything but the medical, and that the documents have all been reviewed and deemed complete. All that remains is the interview, which the NVC schedules. With the CR-1, since it's an immigrant visa, instead of a non-immigrant one as the K-1 and K-3 are, it spends a lot more time at the NVC and they schedule the interview, not Montreal. Canada	RCMP Police Certificate expiry?	Yeah, we got the same info. We're really only getting another one "just in case" since it only took us 10 minutes anyway. Canada	NVC and montreal interview for CR-1	Called NVC today , explained I have CC APRIL20TH and awaiting Montreal date. but that I am off to europe around aug 16th to sept 1st. very nice operator explained that montreal give nvc a monthly quota and they are issued at start of every month, and they have no idea when ours will be set!!. If one wants, your more than welcome to move there. I have travelled through out the world in my Army, Navy and Air force time. Rather wait in comfy surroundings (Canada) then living in some countries where the conditions are very poor Canada may be a big country area wise, but population wise we are not. Canada	Montreal Seems So Quiet	You won't hear a peep from Montreal. Your case is only sent to Montreal after your interview has been scheduled. Montreal doesn't schedule interviews for CR-1, the NVC does. Although secretely I think that they just got tired of me calling all the time and took pity on me They received my checklist at the end of April, so for all of you that are still waiting, there is hope yet! you have me confused !! While waiting for the visa processing, I moved back in with my brother here in Chateauguay. I will definitely try to do some partying on Canada Day in Montreal. I will be in Ontario on July 24th, so won't have the problem of being "partied out". I have lived in toronto area for 30 years ,but have visited Montreal at least twice a year. never had a bad experience - luckily. gonna draw no comparisons. Red is regarde a well rounded world traveller. NOW TODAY I heard that the interrogation is FRI JULY 28TH FOR CR-1 . PERFECT get to spend a weekend in Montreal, where I have several friends. Will book a flight to N dakota for mon 31st and do POE @ montreal airport. Jules is visiting /working at her home state july/august. thats the summer off for me then . Canada	medical in toronto for cr-1	well thanks gang for your help. will use dr seiden because the receptionist was just so clear and helpful, to all my questions medisys was very abrupt telling me the panel physician makes the call on which jabs I require. Canada	bank account in US	opened 2 accounts at 5th/third in fl a year ago. tried to get a loan while visting , no credit record was found. have copies of my equifax and transunion. of course if you are a bad risk they would know instanly but having 5 star rating cuts no ice it seems. will transfer my amex soon, probaly this week. my interview is late july , will be poe early august. but only for a week or 2 ,then off to europa, will hitch up the trailer and head south on aug 30th. so had no probs with fifth/third they are really helpfull will have my ssn by late august and will set up a car loan, and pay it off within weeks, that should set the credit ball rolling but did meet a mortgage rep in naples fl who told me that he gets loans for canucks with their own credit bureaus. red	reddiablo	Not Telling	Canada	2006-07-08 21:27:00

Canada	Entering USA with possessions	Hi Gang should do my POE early august ,when I visit inlaws in S dakota. after our two weeks in europe we will use Jules SUV To tow a trailer 6x12 to florida from Toronto in late august. I recieved the wrong packet and I'm sure it was the cr1 and it did state on the instructions that a 85 dollar processing fee in US cash was due at the time of the interview. NO 85 FEE FOR CR-1 its all paid in advance. just had a post from wally , that all he paid for was his sons soda. anybody else reckon we pay for finger printing. also very little mention of finger printing at all, in posts of people who have visas. so still not sure whats needed pretty sure no more greenbacks are due to be paid. as for fingerprinting that also I have my doubts about red	reddiablo	Not Telling	Canada	2006-07-18 11:42:00
Canada	2 days til interview!!	blahblah... I had the same question regarding the OF-169 document. Apparently this is the co-sponsor dcument that your father [?] filled out. I believe it may also be considered the 864A... or something like that. I hope that helps at least. Also, I once heard that fingerprinting costs $80ish but like you, I will be bringing more cash just in case. It's always good to be over-prepared than under. I'm not sure what the $100 is for, I just know you have to pay it for Cr1/Ir1. well old redd\d has missed that one. have read every word from nvc/ montreal many times. and the majority of posts re montreal experience. remember we are CR-1 NOT K-1 which I know little about. take the ton and spend it on a slap up celebration meal. I am so anxious to get to see my wife and father in law @s dakota I paid for a flight to on wed aug 2nd , so will have to wait till mon in montreal. no way can I trust the consulate and express post to get the passport from montreal to toronto in 24hrs. luckily I have close ties in montreal and I have got a boutique hotel at rock bottom rate so will lay back and enjoy ,it will only cost me 200 with tax for 2 extra nights. once again good luck on wednesday keep us all posted PLEASE RED	reddiablo	Not Telling	Canada	2006-07-17 10:06:00

Are there any other hidden fees we need to know about for when we get to the embassy? whats the 100 dollars for ?? never read or heard about it !!! and regarding originals it seems you only have the option of taking your copies , I made the same error when sending first application to service centre, one of our premier "posters" of the era "sanc" was quick to point out my sending originals instead of copies. I did obtain copies of original from the relevant agencies. good luck on wednesday , seems you have it all covered. I have to go alone ,jules is home in s dakota visiting my ailing father in law.
