My request for visa pick up was also approved. The Consul at window 32 was very nice. He did not even ask me my reason why I wanted a visa pick up though he told me he can't promise when will my visa be ready for pick up. Then 2pm of March11, I received a call from the Embassy telling me my visa is ready for pick up on March 12. So I picked it up in the morning of march 12 then had my CFo stamping in the afternoon! QUOTE just want to say i came to guam for my POE its very easy and most of the immigration is pinoy , the one that asked for my envelope even same place where I am in philippines cavite , so what happen is that we talked like magkababayan. And same as other i also get my baggage in honolulu for the inspection . I flew last dec 12 , its a long flight and i had also continental airlines , i like the airlines they have complete meal and their meal is good . my kids like them . Ohh thank you. After knowing that your experience was pleasant, i can now relax . I will just enjoy the flight and the meals Thank you for the wonderful help....it means a lot. Baggage is another matter. When we flew from Manila to Guam and then on to Honolulu last February, we got our bags in Honolulu, not Guam. Yes got your PM thanks so much. The thread you initiated help me alot. Plus, your PM. I just arrived here in Florida last March 28....i have continental also with Guam, Houston and Florida route. In your case, Guam is your POE, tell her not to worry so much because the IMMIGRATION there is easy and there are Filipinos working in the Immigration. All of them are nice actually. I give my passport, Visa, 1-94 {that i ask on the plane},packet or brown envelope....have my fingerprint, took me a picture and the Immigration Officer escorted me to a room and another officer open the packet and ask few questions and stamped my passport. I ask him if i will get my checked baggage but he said i will in Hawaii coz we will gonna change plane in Hawaii.Thats it. The photos and the evidence that you submitted are fine and all your documents must be fine. It has nothing to do with your family name if i may say. It got delayed because they verify if her BC,cenomar and other NSO documents are genuine due to some fake papers submitted by others before. I just hope that she paid the NSO Verification fee ahead of time. One clever idea that i made during interview though, when i submitted MY documents....my BC and CENOMAR....i included the real receipt in that way, they wont verify anymore....and I bravely ask the kind consul if i am approved....hehehe, that is why i know i am APPROVED. My interview is a Thursday and received my VISA by mail on a TUESDAY morning. Philippines	POE	Hello VJ Family, I arrived Florida last Friday thru Continental Airlines . Its a long travel but very enjoyable, exciting and for me its a new adventure. It is my first international travel and I am alone . I leave Manila at 10:55pm....at the airport, I paid 1620 at 6pm ahead of time coz CONTINENTAL did not open yet. I was so early coz i just wanted to be there early to avoid the hussle of unpredicted events. Around 7:30 as it opens, i was 3rd in the line and i made friends with some elderly who travels to Houston so, we agreed to meet at the exit to be together all the time. I got my boarding pass at the airport, I showed my passport and they ask me the purpose of my travel, heading to what state and ask me about my checked baggage. Then, proceed to the immigration area for security check up , I gave my passport and the boarding pass then, ask by the officer the address of my destination. Then, head to my gate. If you wanted to bring liquid like WATER, you can buy inside but ask for receipt coz at the gate, they will look for it . If you cant show them, you will have to drink it all or, leave it . Im seated with 2 tourist couple. The flight is very nice and relaxing. My POE is GUAM. We went directly to the Immigration, I gave my passport and showed him my boarding passes and he asked me questions and asked for my packet and took me pictures then, directed me to a room. In there, they open up my packet and asked me questions and stamped my passport with a 90days duration. They staple the half of my I-94 form, {ASK THE 1-94 WHILE YOU ARE ON THE PLANE}, sometimes they forgot to give it . It was so easy and they are all nice and very accommodating and very friendly. There are Filipinos in the Immigration area, nothing to worry. Then, I proceed to the security area of inspection, then, on to the gate. I arrived in HAWAII very relax . We go directly to the baggage area and got our baggage and checked it again and they told me that i can get that checked baggage in Florida. At the gate, they got my DECLARATION FORM which the airline attendant gave. We pass security check up again and got in the next connecting flight. Our flight from guam was delayed so, they hold our flight to HOUSTON. Everything went smoothly. Thank God. In Houston, the airport is big...a little confusing but, just follow the arrow where you are heading. As i looked at the board, it shows flights and i looked for ORLANDO, got my gate 17....so far....i have to walk fast to catch up my flight boarding in 30mins. There are airport cars if you hate to walk but, i choose to walk though. When, i reached my gate, I am the only FILIPINO and i dont see familiar faces i have in my 3flights...i said bye to some of them along the way. I even helped some directed to their gates...Its really fun . I arrived in ORLANDO and Ronald meet me at the gate and got me a bouquet of flowers ....yes...at the gate. He got a pass since he worked in the airport He is with a friend who worked in DELTA airlines...At the airport alone, my gosh...their friends welcome me....i have so many hugs already Thats it....I am now in the USA...thank GOD...VJ Family has really helped me a lot , and so, my turn to helped others as well on their journey that i have been.GOD BLESS YOU ALL.	amy n	Female	Philippines	2008-03-31 08:39:00
Philippines	Day 9 in the USA...Funny Things She Asked	FUNNY coz i have so many inquiry also and it amazed me to see the nice places on my way to WEST PALM BEACH...hehhee...I keep asking Ronald where are the policemen on the highway? I dont see one. Then, without realizing it we are in highway with speeding limit of 55 and the police car on the other side of the road chasing us already. We are given a ticket for 76 speed reading...hehehe....i said to the police good afternoon even...hhehehe...Good thing was he gave us discount and given a minimal ticket to pay in one month. HEHEHE. When his friends asked me if i was afraid with that experience, i just said no....they were amazed by my reaction coz if it were them, they will be so nervous. They asked few questions and got it in less than 20mins. Swifly yeah..... Just got here in a month and everything is smooth sailin' Thank GOD for all my blessings. I spent my honeymoon in WALT DISNEY Hollywood Studio, Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom....hmmm....I requested it coz im still a child at heart...I enjoyed FINDING NEMO the Musical...a lot....hehhee.... I am trying to figure out on which hotel is good to stay in Manila during the medical exam and interview. I am considering the distance of St. Luke's Medical Center, which is located in Quezon while the US Embassy is along Roxas Boulevard. I am planning to have the medical exam and interview done in one time when I will go to Manila. Could that be possible too? I think I will be staying in Manila for 5-7 days, or more than that? I recommend BAYVIEW PARK HOTEL for the Interview.. Bayview Park Hotel is across the street from the US Embassy... Also my wife stayed @ Bayview also for her Medical.. Rates are estimated $60 a night.. I agree. To save time and taxi fare/traffic, stay in this hotel. I stayed here 3x in two weeks...on my medical 3nights, on my interview 2days and 2days on my way to Florida. The price is good coz we book it in http://www.asiarooms...yview_park.html ...it is a walking distance to St. Lukes ....50pesos in a taxi...its less actually...i just hiked for the sake of sight seeing On the interview, its just accross the street so, you can go early if you want. Breakfast is served 6 am. I went in at 6:00 coz i requested to eat at 5:45...my reservation is free breakfast each time. Going to Airport fare 130 pesos the most. Philippines	Quick Question about Marriage.	Much as we wanted to help you, our suggestions will vary in circumstances that we experience. K-1, K-3 and CR-1....to choose from. My experience taught me that it is easier to apply the K-1 because in my timeline, from the time we submit the papers up to the time I arrive in the US that took us only 8months. The expenses? His plane tickets to and fro, 10days stay in PI , so 10 days hotel stay, visit BOHOL, the fee of 1-129f, my 1 week stay in Bayview for my medical, interview and departure dates since i live southern part of PI ,plus 8 domestic air fare (when i see him in manila, during my medical, on my interview and my departure to US).....lastly, the plane tickets to US. Those are the costly expenses for us in doing the K-1. In 8 months I am here united with him. Wedding cost? We only have civil wedding but have 60 guests. I find it cheaper because if i choose to marry him in PI, it will be a church wedding and we have to invite the whole family and close friends. It would cost a lot for sure. We applied marriage license cost $97 and the next Saturday we have the ceremony in a nice house beside the lake, tropical wedding. Monday, we have our marriage certificate. That is awesome fast and cheaper yeah? Well, next year, we will be back to the Philippines and have the church wedding for sure for my family and friends.
