United KingdomLondon Medical - Knightsbridge Doctors

Hello all,

Does anyone know what the current waiting times are when booking a medical? I'm still waiting on my Police Certificate to arrive then I should be good to go for the medical, but I'm just wondering when to call. I'm hoping to have the medical in the first week of July (Certificate arrival allowing), but I don't want to leave it too late to call.

Thanks smile.png

I booked my medical Thursday, and the soonest available appointment was Wednesday 3rd of July. I would say your safe to book now and have plenty of time for the Police certificate to arrive.

Karl

This may seem like a stupid question and the answer may be obvious, but I'm sure others have thought of this too.

What country do I put down on the pack 3 forms...Wales, or the United Kingdom??

Better to be safe than sorry smile.png

Thank you in Advance, Karl

United KingdomAnyone waiting for/recently received interview appointment at London embassy?

I also sent my DS-2001 and cover letter with all my forms.

I called the UK embassy line today asking for an earlier date, and the woman gave me the code and email address to send an email to the embassy quite easily. I didn't have to do any grovelling. I've sent an email asking for an earlier date than my current appointment date of 1st August. It's worth a try and I have nothing to lose. It would just be nice to get a few days or even a week extra to help with preparations for the big day, before all my family get in to Chicago.

That's great news Deanna and Karl. I sent off DS2001 a couple of hours ago. Didn't put an exact wedding date but did state I was hoping to be there around the 3rd week of Aug and so please could I be assigned an interview asap - that could persuade them, right? tongue.png

Hopefully you should hear something at the beginning of next week. My fingers are crossed for you both

Deanna called the NVC again today asking if an interview date has been issued, as she has been everyday this week, and we HAVE A DATE!!

They received the medical results Monday 8th July and It's the 11th today, 3 days to issue a date! I did state our wedding date of 17th August, so it may or may not have been a factor.

Now to plan a trip to London from sunny Anglesey!!

Hope everyone receives some good news soon.

I meant DoS not NVC, oops!

What wedding date did you specify in your cover letter? I am about a week ahead of you in terms of when the Embassy received results and forms so we both should hear about an interview about the same time.

The wedding date i specified was August 17th. I'm hoping to hear soon

Click on the IMMIGRANT VISA in the drop down box, then input your LND number, you should then get a little pop up on the website stating your case status and when it was last updated.

Deanna, decided to phone/call the american number yesterday, and they confirmed they had all the paperwork, but no assigned interview date yet!

We are just going to call everyday this week and be like flies around ###### and not leave them alone :)

How long does it take roughly for an interview to be assigned? a week, two weeks?

United KingdomAnyone waiting for/recently received interview appointment at London embassy?

I sent Packet 3 along with my cover letter (wedding date included) and DS-2001 28th of June. The embassy was due to receive my medical today (8th July) and my case has been updated today on https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx?, so I'm assuming they have everything now.

Is there a Phone number or any point of contact to the Embassy which we can call to find out if they have everything, and if they have issued an appointment date?

Thank you

United KingdomPaying for courier at embassy!!

Thank you all for your help, It's much more clearer for me now.

I live up rural North Wales on Anglesey, so quite a bit away from London.

I might stay away from asking for it before a certain time as our usual packages don't arrive until around lunchtime.

My plan is to book the flight as soon as I receive the passport and leave the UK the following day or the day after. I Handed in my notice at work yesterday, It's all coming so quickly :)

United KingdomPaying for courier at embassy!!

I'm just curious as I'm trying to gauge what day I could fly out after my interview on the 1st of August and receiving my passport back.

At the embassy, is there just the one fee for one delivery method, or do they give you a choice and you can pay more to get your passport back a day or two sooner??

Thank you in advance :)

Congrats. I had my interview Thursday! If you paid your MRV before the new system change then the courier will call you. They called me this morning and I should have my passport tomorrow.

Ahh thank you for letting us know! That's given me so much hope! Has it arrived yet today? We got approved a couple of hours ago and now I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that we can get the visa ASAP and fly nex Monday!

YESS IT HAS ARRIVED :)

It came at 8.30 this morning, I've booked my flight, which is ridiculously expensive and fly from Dublin tomorrow. Beyond excited, but the last two days have been scary, knowing I'm leaving family and a ton of friends behind. It's been emotional!

USCIS Service CentersFor crying out loud, VSC!!!!

Has anyone been waiting as long as we have without there being an RFE contributing to the delay?!  We are both very good-natured, but this is starting to get very old!  Filed 11-1-2012.  Received NOA1 11-5-2012.  And absolutely NOTHING, NO ACTIVITY WHATSOEVER, since!  We've called, filed E-requests, contacted our congressman, filed with ombudsman (or whatever that's called), clicked our heels together, wished upon a star, and still...NOTHING!  I think the most frustrating part is to always get the same response, which is basically no response.  At best, we have the website read back to us.  There is absolutely no way of even knowing if our file is on someone's desk or heaved out of the car window of a disgruntled worker, and seemingly there is no real recourse or way of finding out.  Sorry for the vent.  But seriously, C'MON VSC!!!!!  CRIMINY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read a couple of times on different threads here that there was a flood at the office that effected November filers.  I could be wrong, but might be something to research?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK1 visa Interview Questions

I'm seeing a LOT of questions about wedding plans... My fiance and I did a lot of research on this process.  In reading a lot of forums from VERY stressed out brides-to-be without dates of when their fiance would be allowed here and with the wedding day creeping up on them, we decided we would do the legal courthouse wedding right after he got here, and plan as soon as we knew what date he would be here.  That way we could plan stress free and without having to worry about if he was going to be here or not!  It would also give us and my family some more time to save for my dream wedding.  As of right now, we got our NOA1 yesterday, and don't have any solid wedding plans yet (outside of the legal courthouse wedding).  Is this going to be a hinderance in our interviewing process??!!!

Our status just got updated on USCIS. Does this mean our case has been transferred to NVC?...I think it's time to start calling NVC!!!! Post Decision Activity

On August 8, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

Yeah, I've read more than a few got transfered in the last few days. I did some research about being transfered, and it is as I suspected.  They transfer to another processing center because they are backed up at the original one.  Another poster said "We received the same message this morning. I called the USCIS and was told that this means that our service center (VCS) is backed up and have therefore sent our cases to another office for faster processing. I asked if this meant that there were a problem with the petition and she said no. If there were a problem we would have received earlier notification. She said to look at this as a good thing because they are working to make a decision quicker. One we receive our written notification in the mail it will tell us if there is anything we need to do and more than likely which office it was sent to. We received our NOA1 on December 11, 2012."

Thanks! That link is quite helpful. I definitely get what you mean by the file being touched - but that isn't something we can see, correct? Just because the file has been touched - it doesnt notify us each time, correct? I was under the impression we were only notified or could see the status if it was something that had been changed - such as a decision, not simply if someone had looked at the file.

No, you don't get a notification. But you can do like most of us on this journey do and neurotically check it every few minutes haha. Login here https://egov.uscis.g.../jsps/login.jsp

Hello.  Just checked the uscis site and it says our application is approved, so I guess we got NOA2, only 42 days after NOA1.  We're very excited, but I keep checking it to make sure it wasn't a mistake.  I'm a little concerned that this isn't real, and the site just says it by accident somehow.  Anyone else out there getting approvals?  I'm thinking we'll be seeing some approvals for the people that were transferred from vsc to tsc if this is for real.

Congrats!  While I'm happy for you guys, the better word to express my emotions would be jealousy!! ClockWatch2.gif (sorry)

After our alien registration number was changed, we did a LOT of research on it.. There seems to be some debate over it on this forum, but after a full day of reading and researching, there is not a time frame for when you get an alien registration #.  If you get a notification that you have been asigned one before the noa2, it's not technically your # until you are approved.

As for people getting transfered a second time, you were all transfered from VA to CA?  Our case was sent there first.  I wonder if that's why we weren't transfered??

I believe this is a "touched" situation?  The date had changed to 7/11/13 on "last updated" @ uscis.gov, but no new status.

Good luck!

Just FYI, all I-129Fs are shipped from the Dallas Lockbox to either the California Service Center (West coast petitions) or the Vermont Service Center (East coast petitions). Aside from the recent slew of transfers from VSC to the Texas Service Center (not to be confused with the Dallas Lockbox, these are separate), those are the only two service centers that handle I-129Fs. You should update your timeline to reflect that your petition is at CSC!

EDIT: Or apparently you already have...the forum thing still says Texas. Odd.

Thanks for the tip :) My fiance and I are learning a lot as we go along and have learned TONS from these forums!  What a find this website was!  So excited for all of us!  And congrats to my fellow July filers!!!
