How frustrating huh, the USCIS website is inaccurate I could say. My petitioned was approved in 99 days, but the website says it is still in the "Initial Review". For now, it is a waiting game, just be patient. If you hit the 5 month mark, that is the time you should call for help from your senator or congressman from what I have read in the forum. Goodluck to you and your fiance!

Thanks! Congrats on the quick approval! I sure hope I don't have to make it to the point of calling my senator or congressman. But I'll do what I have to do to get my fiance here. We are deeply in love and missing her more every day that we are away from each other. I'm thankful we have international plans in our cell phones and can use yahoo messenger to communicate and see each other. We have been together now for 7 years and will just trust that the USCIS does not delay our process. We are both so excited and longing to spend the rest of our lives together. Time to play the waiting game like most of us are doing now. We'll all make it!!

Yeah, I created an account at the USCIS website. I then clicked on "Add a Case to Your Portfolio" and received the error:

To add cases to your portfolio, please enter the application receipt number.

Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
Customer Portfolio Insert Failed
Attempting to add a case that does not exist. Check the application receipt number.
Please complete all the required fields marked with a *.

Any other ideas? Thanks, JeWcHee for the recommendation.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS Receipt Number
I recently submitted our I-129F Visa application (March 4, 2011) and as of now our receipt number is not working. The notice date on my I-797C is March 9, 2011. I have called the USCIS to check the status of our application every month. Every time I call and enter my receipt number I get an error that the case number can not be found in the USCIS system. After this I usually use the prompt for "lost or do not know my receipt number" to speak with a USCIS representative on the phone. The representative asks me for some basic personal information and then for my receipt number. Again the representative informs me that my case number can not be found in the USCIS and transfers me to speak with an immigration officer. I've called and have gone through this process 3 times in the last 3 months since I submitted our I-129F.

The first call (1 month after submission) the immigration officer apologized for the inconvenience of the online case status being down due to technical difficulties. The officer informed me that everything was on track and on schedule with the processing of our Visa.

The second call (2 months after submission) a different immigration officer told me that our visa has been back logged and will be delayed 4 months until they even get to our application. I was a bit shocked after receiving a different answer then the first call made a month prior. I asked the officer how long we were looking at to complete the whole process. The officer informed me that it's be 4 months until they started our application process and then another 5 months for the normal processing time. The officer also informed me that she would contact the help desk to activate my receipt number. The officer said that it should take up to 30 days to activate me receipt.

The third call (3 months after submission) yet I spoke with another officer with a totally different answer then the second. The officer assured me that processing time for the fiance visa is typically 90 days from the receipt to receive the NOA2. I confirmed the dates on my I-797C with the officer and confirmed the typical 90 days with the officer. Again from the second call, it's been over 30 days and my receipt number still does not work.

I have no way to check my status with the online case status being down for my receipt. Anyone else encountering these problems? I'm very patient and know it takes time to process our application. I'd just like to know what's going on and if I need to do anything further on my end.

I'm thankful I found this site to share and read others stories through this whole K-1 Visa Process. I wish everyone here the best! We're all going through this together :-)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetition from Pastor

there is no purpose to this letter as it relates to the i-129f... whether at the beginning, middle or end...

Thanks everyone who replied to my post. Appreciate everyone's help in getting us through this process. We have not done anything like this before and just want to make sure Sheily and I do things the right way and have every piece of information we need to successfully make it through our visa process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetition from Pastor

Really not understanding the purpose of the letter. Is the letter just informational? The letter will have no barring on the K1 process.

Informational about our Pastor's intent to marry us. My Pastor asked for a set date and I told him with our fiance visa there is no way to know our date of approval or when Sheily will be arriving here in the US. The Pastor offered the letter to see if it'd be of any help in our case. I've never done anything like this before and I wanted to make sure I have every piece of information possible to bring Sheily and I together. Thank you, Life's Journey for your information. Sheily and I greatly appreciate it. This site has been great in helping us through our K-1 Process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetition from Pastor
I just spoke with the Pastor of my church who will be marrying Sheily and I. He said that he is booking up for dates this fall for a weddings. He asked if he could sent a formal letter stating the date that he would be marrying us. The letter would include the letter head from my church with his signature, my signature and my fiances signature. I called the USCIS today to ask them if this was possible. The first representative I spoke with told me I could send the letter to the VSC with my address and information from the case. Also include support that he would be part of this K-1 Visa process. I was then transferred to an immigration officer who told me this is not possible. The officer did not seem like she was to interested in discussing it. Pretty much cut me off and asked if I had anything else and the call was ended. So anyone have any advise in if I should sent the formal letter from my Pastor or not? Again another case with a different answer from 2 different people from the USCIS. I understand they are busy with a heavy case load but information needs to match between representatives and officers.

Sheily and I are now 87 days into our K-1 Visa process and continuing to patiently wait for our NOA2. We hope and pray we receive our NOA2 soon.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 approved
I received a text message and email Tuesday morning stating that we are approved and the NOA2 letter was sent out Monday 06/27/2011. I assume I should be receiving that today in the mail. What should I be preparing now in this stage? From others I have heard I need 3 pay stubs from my employer. My employer no longer gives us the paper form since we can access this information online. Would a copy of my online statements work in this case? Or should I contact my employer to see if they are able to give me an official pay stub? Also, concerning the tax forms I need to submit. I file my taxes through turbotax every year and print my tax document off for my records. Would this copy be acceptable for the tax document requirement? Or should I contact the IRS to get my official tax information. In addition, as far as the bank account and savings information, is there a certain amount that I should have in my account? Thanks for any information anyone would have regarding what my next steps are after receiving my NOA2. My fiance and I appreciate it so much!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures***URGENT***
Hey, my friends Larry and Sheng are currently in the Philippines. Sheng's Visa was not approved then under review for months. They were finally approved and Larry is in the Philippines now to get Sheng now that their visa is approved. They went to board the plane yesterday and Sheng's Visa just expired and she was not allowed to board the plane. Larry and Sheng are now stuck in Manila trying to figure out what to do? Is there anyway they can extend her Visa Expiration date a few days? I spoke with Larry and he asked if he had to reapply for the K-1 Visa. Would that take another 4-5 months?? Or does anyone have any advice I could give Larry and Sheng? They've been through a lot in this whole process and I just want to help them out as much as possible. Thanks for any advice anyone has for us.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresScheduling Interview
I can schedule 4-6 hours after the BPI, correct? I just seen a website that warned that you have to schedule 3 days after the BPI? Which is true in this case?

The K1 visa is a NON-IMMIGRANT visa, but it is handled by the immigrant section of the USEMB in Manila.
It is confusing, but thats the situation.

You do not neeed DS-160 for K1. That is for sure.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresScheduling Interview
Is it an immigrant or non-immigrant Visa?

My fiance just paid the BPI for her K-1 Visa this morning. I called to schedule her interview and the automated system said we need to complete the DS-160 online before scheduling the interview. I thought for scheduling we just needed the MNL #, Passport ID #, and receipt # from the BPI. Is this something new with the online DS-160?
