US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionGoing back to CDJ after denial and mandatory waiting period

My fiancee was denied entry to the US for admitted one time drug use in February 2007. We have waited the mandatory 3 year waiting period necessary for admittance. After our denial we were given a document that said we had an open appointment and needed merely to return to the consulate after the waiting period to begin the medical exam and interview process again. I wondered if anyone has been through this and if you could walk me through what we need to do upon arrival at CDJ. I know we need to go back to the doctor but any additional information would be greatly appreciated especially if you case is similar to ours. I know I need to complete a DS156 form to update our information. Please help
Chuck

Hello Chuck

If my case is approve my fiance is going to CDJ too. I will pray for you guys and keep me posted so we can prepare for our interview in that embassy. Good luck

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCDJ Interview coming....questions...helpppp

I'm not familiar with Juarez so this is general information.

Typically the time limiting factor is the expiration date of the NOA2, however once your finacee submits the visa application most consulates will automatically extend the petition expiration since the visa is in process (you can send a request for extension for the I-129F petition also if the date is approacing).

Sending the I-134 a few months ahead of the interview should not be a problem, its actually quite normal.

We were though the HCMC consulate in Vietnam but in our case it was about a month from the time the NVC sent to the consulate till my fiancee received packet 3. Then after she sent in the visa application it was about a month to receipt of packet 4 and another month till interview.

I'm sure you'll get much more specific reply from other Juarez filers. I hope the timimg works for you and it fits with your plans to visit, that would be perfect

Best Wishes

Thank you Bernie I greatly appreciate your comments. I will have my documents ready to send right away. I just need to make sure that everything is ok.Thank you again ...

First, How soon can I send her my I-134 and support documents? I understod that she will receive a package 3 and an open appointment letter. Is this letter will have a time limit? US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionVisa fee increased
Hello all VJ friends

According to this link http://travel.state....types_1263.html the new visa fee increaded up to $350 and my question is if anyone has a visa interview in Juarez after June 4 can you please let us know if you are going to pay the $350 visa fee in Banamex (i believe aplicants pay now like $150)for all of us that we are planning to go in the future. I think is really expensive now. Is more that double but if we have to, we have to. My fiance and I are planning to be in Juarez on the first week of July and we just want to be ready if we have to pay the $350. Thank you in advance.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF IT'S NECESSARY TO HAVE A BANAMEX ACCOUNT IN ORDER TO PAY THE VISA FEE?????? THANSK

HELLO !!!

No you don't need to have a Banamex account. You just go to Banamex and request to pay the visa fee for the US Consulate. Has to be Bananmex in Juarez.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCuestions about coming interview in Ciudad Juarez
Thank you amigo Ltotosam for your reply. It feels good to know that you're not alone and that others are going through the same process. Since we were notified from NVC that our case was send to CDJ we were very ansious waiting for the appointment letter, especially because I did not see my fiance since I proposed last September. We are so excited  planning our trip to Juarez (just bcause Juarez is the place where my fiance will get her visa and then we'll be together and not becase is the a great city to vacationing) and because we will met there and see each other after all this months.

I think is great what you mention and will try to do that. Medical one day then the interview. Hopefully we do not have to wait too long for the visa. I made reservations for the whole week just in La Quinta Inn ($50 dls per night) many VJers recommended. They can even pick you up from the airport. I think that is great!

I think I'll do the same and stay at the hotel and I'll have breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Like you said hopefully everything is done in 3 days!!!!

Once again thank you. I think is great all your advise and the best of luck. I'll let you know how it goes!!!!

The best for you guys!! Everything for LOVE!!! :D

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCuestions about coming interview in Ciudad Juarez
Hello to all VJ friends

We are so excited about our coming soon interview in Juarez but also nervous about what is coming. I called today to Juarez's Consulate and they told us that K1 instructions packet was sent on May 13. They also mentioned that we have an open appointment. Is this mean that I can plan to request my vacation for the first week of July so I can go with my fiance to her interview? Is this Open appointment has any time limit? Can I made flight and hotel reservations with out fair that the embassy will not be closed or something?
Sorry to ask too many cuestions but I want to be carefull specially for everything that is happening in Juarez. Does any body that already went to Juarez Interview can tell us how prepare ourselves for this interview? What hotel do you guys recomend? Is safe to go to eat to nearby restaurants? How long is the waiting for the visa if approve? How many days should I reserve to stay in a hotel?

Again sorry for just dropping my bombs of cuestions but to be honest I'm so freak out about going to Juarez for all that I see in the news everyday. I know that I have to put my fears on the side and just go and take care of that but in the meanwhile I'm just thinking about going there and making sure that we can cover everything and staying safe.

Im going to fly to El Paso from LA and my fiance is going to fly to Juarez from Mexico City. Is safe for her to just take a taxi from the Juarez Airport to the hotel with out been worried that something happen to her? Is safe to take a taxi from El Paso to the hotel crossing the border with out been worried of anything?

Please any advise of any kind is greatly appreciated. Thanks. God bless to all.

WOOO HOOO! I checked my mail today and found that special envelope containing my 1st NOA waiting for me  ... I know this is a looooooooooong journey, but I am thrilled to have begun. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 received a month earlier than expected...

We just got the email today, still haven't gotten the letter. This is good news but it threw us for a loop. We got approved in less than 2 months. Is that normal?

Now what do we need to do? I basically know what we need to do, but is there anything not explained in the instructions that they're going to send me that I should know?

When should I call the NVC?

Thanks! I'm so happy!

Congrats Barry and Ami.  I wish my case get approve soon. I think you guys need to prepared for you consular interview. Good luck. !!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPut wrong embassy/consulate on my I-129F form
Hello to all members
I have a question. When I filled my I-129F form I put wrong embassy/consulate. After reviewing other comments somebody mentioned that the only US embassy in Mexico that manage K-1's is the one in Juarez, Mexico. I put Guadalajara, Mexico. Did you think that this may cause me a RFE??? please help for those the may know about this. Thanks
