ThailandApproved i601 Waiver

Not sure about how long it will take to get to the embassy, but have you dealt with the police report yet?  If so, you may need to get another one of those because I think they are only good for 6 months.

Nah the police certificate should be good for 1 year :) thanks though...

From http://photos.state....nt_packet_4.pdf

Medical examination report forms normally expire after 6 months. Thai police certificates and I-864

and I-134 Affidavit of Support forms are normally valid for one year and must be accompanied by a
copy of the most recent year?s income tax return. Please provide new documents if the current ones
have expired.

ThailandApproved i601 Waiver

I recently had an i601 waiver approved and I am waiting for it to make it to the embassy and them to contact us for visa issuance / our medical.

We already renewed the medical exam and have all the paperwork ready... but does anybody have experience in how long it takes for the approval to get from the Nebraska Service Center to the Bangkok Embassy?

Thailandhow get Interview Appt? send packet 3 or post office first.

For Taiwan Police Cert: http://english.tcpd....DSD=7&mp=108002

Also - don't definitely don't wait for that before Packet 3 or 4.  If you don't have it before the interview they won't issue the Visa but they will let you submit it within a year if that is the only issue and give you the visa then.

Thailandhow get Interview Appt? send packet 3 or post office first.

Translations below inside the quote - Mike can confirm :P

I am almost embarresed about how quickly things have gone after seeing how long it takes for others...

NOA 1             5-28-13

NOA 2             7-31-13

Packet 3 sent  8-27-13

==SAM== Since he is asking about what should be included in Packet 3 it is obvious that he means he has not yet sent packet 3.  This can only mean the embassy sent him a packet 3

I sent e-mail to NVC requesting info. on about 8-24-13

I called NVC about 8-7-13 to ask if theey recieved yet,  (no) say call back 4-5 weeks, No reply yet. (I guess NVC got it and sent it 555)

==SAM== 555 means LOL for thai, he said "I called NVC on 8-7 and they said to call back in 4-5 weeks but since we just got a letter from the embassy they must have gotten it and sent it before the 4-5 weeks"

We were planning on a DEC or JAN, interview, but this sounds like it is going to work out great.

Thank you for your help.       Mike  of Mike&Dang

He said he already got packet 3 (a letter from the embassy with a website URL to download the Packet3 Documents) which is why I said what I said.

I actually looked for it but I can't find our packet 4 letter and the date we mailed our packet 3 but if I remember right it wasn't too long... under a month, but that is just from memory.  It's probably still in Thailand - I had to file a Waiver and it's just been approved, so my Fiancee isn't here quite yet.  Soon!

Sorry, I didn't answer everything - yes you need to pay the fee at the post office and mail the receipt in with your Packet3 documentation.  It says all this in the Packet 3 just FYI ;)

You need to complete the packet 3 and mail it back.  When they get that with all the requested documentation they will mail you back a Packet 4 with an appointment date.

ThailandTwo questions about P3

Karee, that's an intersting point.  Do you know if it has to be a special translation for the AOS?  My fiancee has a Thai birth certificate and a translation, but the translation wasn't by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

ThailandTwo questions about P3

I have two questions about P3

1) I-134, can I provide my copy of my 1040 forms or do I need transcripts from the IRS?

2) Free to marry certificate, the K1 instructions (on the Bangkok Embassy site) don't mention it, but it is brought up a lot.  Do we need it?  Neither of us have ever been married.

Thanks.

You don't normally need a special certificate.  I got a K1 visa approved for all that, just said neither of us have ever been married and there were no issues.

Your tax returns aren't required to be transcripts from the IRS - you only actually need them to be a copy of the last forms filed (1040) with your signature.  The transcript from the IRS is not a 1040, but I included them with mine since I already had them for another reason.

Quoting from the Packet4:

EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT: The petitioner must present evidence that neither

the applicant nor any dependent children (if applicable) will become a public charge in the
United States. A Form I-134 (Affidavit of Support) signed by the petitioner must be submitted
with a copy of the petitioner?s current year tax return (Form 1040). The petitioner?s income
must meet the poverty guidelines at the time of Affidavit of Support filing.

ThailandI-797 for Waiver

We received the I-797 for the I-601 waiver.  The instruction letter from the original interview refusal seems to say we should just mail in eveyrthing with the Waiver but I'm pretty sure that's not the case and we need to wait for the embassy to contact us following their receipt of the Waiver through official channels.  Is there by chance anybody who has gone through the waiver process at the Bangkok embassy that can confirm or deny?

Thailandready to mail I-129-F...RFE master thread made us paranoid...

more proof from your time in TH, receipts of places you have photos from, bank statements showing charges in TH, skype chat logs or similar to show ongoing relationship, snail mail, etc...

You don't need that for the I-129F but you will want that for the Interview after the I129-F is approved

ThailandHow to get my baby a Thai Passport or Birth Certificate

By what I see you need to register it at your Thai embassy or consulate and NOT in Thailand... http://teakdoor.com/...html#post212009 is the best reference I've found for it that wasn't in Thai...  I just plan to drop by the local Thai Consulate with this stuff after the baby is born and see if it's right or not... and if not I expect they will be able to tell us what to do.

ThailandCan't download N400

Yeah apparently Adobe decided to be smart and make PDFs stop working in the browser.  I ran into that and just used right-click save-as then opening in Adobe Acrobat to view them and it worked fine also.

I put her address as mailing address where she lived in an apartment... not house registration or ID card address

Thailandreceiving visa options other than mail ( BKK specific )

You can pick it up the same day from the post office that they deliver it to.  You just need to let the embassy know you want to pick it up and they will let you know when it is available for pickup

ThailandCan't send money to Thailand via Western Union Online

Get a new bank IMO - most of them don't charge anything for that type of transfer in my experience.  Credit unions are usually good, or USAA (anybody can use USAA for banking, you just don't get deposit@home last time I checked) - I think Chase is also free...

I must have done it wrong, because I did the exact same thing.  I sent it to the Bangkok Bank ABA number in the U.S.  BoA still charged me $35.

Yes if you do a wire transfer it still has that fee - you need to just add it as an account, usually you can add an account online... Or ask them to do an "ACH (Automated Clearing House) Transfer"

Account Number: Recipient's Bangkok Bank account number

Isn't the wire transfer a $35.00 fee?  Because they have Bangkok Bank and last time I did that, Bank of America dinged me $35 for the wire transfer fee.

Yes - that's why I said to use Bangkok Bank and ACH to their New York branch - which is a DOMESTIC transfer just like from say Wells Fargo to Bank of America.  It's free and you can do it online usually, and Bangkok Bank charges you a rather small fee (I forget how much but not bad) to move it from the New York branch to the Thailand bank account.

if you want to save western union fees, have whoever you send money to open a bangkok bank account - then you can transfer via ACH to the Bangkok Bank US branch

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Anybody Recently Approved/Denied/Touched
I have a case at the Nebaska Service Center -- and I'm just wondering if anybody has recently had a case worked on there or elsewhere? If so I'm hoping you could let us know when they received your paperwork... The timeline is missing any info regarding I601 but the website says 4 Months...
Sam BNot TellingThailand2013-03-12 07:43:00
Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Visa Approved (via I-601) but ESTA denied!

I think that about confirms that it IS the airline. I think I'll try calling United when I am stateside to see if there is anyway this can be manually overidden. The $25 fee for booking over the phone is a little on the steep side. That visa holder options sounds like a very logical addition for other airlines to consider.

I know this is from a long time ago - but for people who look at this later (as I did)... If you are UNABLE to book the ticket online, just ask and United will waive the $25 fee.
