USCIS Service CentersTSC September filers processed before July filers.?!?!?

Following the dates for peoples NOA1 to their NOA2 it seems to be the case that they are doing first come first serve for the most part.  I was kinda like you when I saw that post of someone getting apporved in 19 days, my jaw dropped.  Kinda jealous I must say.  Barring a politacl favor or congresional inquire, I bet some officer took a few pettions from the qrong section to wrok on by accident.  I wouldnt worry about it too much unless we start seeing a whole buch start goign thru like that.  Mistakes do happen to us all. Though I wish they would proccess all petions in 19 days smile.png

Hopefully that one that got done in 19 days was either a fluke or I would hope all would get done in that time frame.  Mind you I woldnt mind if mine got done today.  But the fairness part of me hope that they more or less take in the order that they got them in.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-160 for K-Visa Applicants

Ouch, in that case kinda does read like you will need the new forms, better safe than sorry I guess. And assuming this form need the same information that you put on the other forms, hopefully it wont take too much to get it done.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-160 for K-Visa Applicants

yes, I saw it too..so I think K1 needs to fill-up this form...I do have my interview date on October 24. ...I am done already with all the old forms and so now, I need to do it again with this new form...hmmmm...:-)

If I am reading this correctly I think you dont ahve to fill out the new form as you allready have an interview date.

CanadaPacket 3 Question - Montreal

From the Montreal guide :

5. Sending Packet 3
How you send P3 is up to you. It can be done for free via DHL, but many have found it faster to just use an xpresspost mailer from Canada Post and eat the cost themselves. If you are sending it via xpresspost, it goes to the following address:
ATTN: Immigrant Visa Unit
315 Place d'Youville Suite 500
Montreal Quebec
H2Y 0A4
Make sure to again write your MTL case # on the mailer itself.
(You could also just send it regular mail, but it?s usually better for peace of mind to get a tracking number, which means XPpesspost.)

CanadaChange K1 Interview date?

Yes you can, check the Montreal guide on information on how to do it.  Good luck, there are buch of people that are in the same boat, that will probably be trying the same thing.  With any luck my finacee and I will be one of the shortly I hope.

CanadaK1 Approved at Interview - CEAC says Issued

Congratulations!!!! We just got our NOA2 so starting to look into whats coming down the pike,  That 135 fee you mention I am pretty sure that does not apply to k1 visas, but might want to double check that.

CanadaPacket 3 question

Just got a quick question on the p3 packet.  Our case is at the NVC right now and hopefully soon on its way to montreal.  But, I was wondering when can you do the DS-160, do have to wait for p3 to be sent out or can it be done now?  Thanks in advanced.

CanadaFinding info about former spouses

I had to look up for some information of previous spouse from when we got divorced back in 1993.  In state of Kentucky I just had to supply her name, maiden name and about when the divorce took place.  Not sure what state you are trying to get it from but I would start by going (if possible) to the county clerks office where the divorce took place hopefully they have a record of the proceedings still.

CanadaShould I Purchase Travel Insurance?

I went without insurance from June to January.  Couldn't even sign up until November.  US government apparently doesn't think that immigrating is life changing enough to add someone to insurance.  ROFL

That is a shame one would think that would be the case. Luckily enough though marriage is normally a qualifying life changing to add someone.

CanadaAdministrative Processing

I have my visa approve the 7 and up until this day i have not seeing 1 update , ap is normally 1-2days some people are lucky yet they find reason to complain

I believe it is normal for all visa to go thru at least a day or two of AP.  Ours was in AP from Friday till Monday and then on Tuesday about midday it changed to issue. Also here is another good thread about the wait times after approval of the visa. Oh and before I forget congratulations!!!!! on the approval!!!!

No, you can just plug in your receipt number and it will give its status.  But signing up will allow you to set up so it will email and/or text you when there is an update. G-1145 just tells them to email and/or text you that they got it.

CONGRATS! I am wondering, do they tell you a specific date and POE you must depart on and go through?

You have 6 months from the medical to use a k-1 visa. And you can use any POE that you wish at the airports or land crossing at the borders up to you :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSeptember 2013 Filers

Hi.

Question: Have any of your significant others lived in the US previously under a work visa etc for at least 12 months? Mine did many years ago. I am curious if anyone had to also get a US Police Clearance?

not sure about your embassy/consulate but here is a cut and paste from our p4 letter.  Hope it helps.

OBTAIN THE ORIGINAL POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

Each visa applicant aged 16 years or older must submit a police certificate from every
country where he/she resided for at least 6 months after the age of 16.

Some countries require a specific Police Certificate Request form to properly request and
obtain Police Certificate(s). The Reciprocity by Country page indicates those countries.

Police certificates from certain countries are unavailable.

Present and former residents of the United States do NOT need to obtain any U.S. police
certificates.

For more specific information please visit HTTP://TRAVEL.STATE.GOV/VISA/FEES/FEES_3272.HTML

So probably your best bet is to get a hold of you embassy/consulate and ask them what you need in case they a particular for what they are looking for.
