K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 Vs. CR-1 Visa HELP!

Me and my husband were married in my country, after he got back to US he both filed for IR1/CR1 and K-3. IR1/CR1 was approved first so they discontinued processing K-3. My advice, better stick to IR1/CR1. The length of the process depends on the place it was submitted and how fast you send them all the required documents...All good things comes to those who wait!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisa status: READY-ISSUED-READY-ISSUED...Finally!

I had my interview last Aug. 5, 2013, and was approved. Everything went smoothly and the CO congratulated me. The lady on the last window told me just wait for the visa to be delivered within 7-10 days. After that, the waiting for my visa issuance started. But, under unexpected circumstances like holidays and typhoons the process was bit delayed. After 24 days, my visa status remains READy, but on Aug. 29, it finally changed to ISSUED. So over joyed, I already packed all my stuff and my baby's. The next day, when I checked my visa status i was shocked to find out it went back to READY. Another days of waiting. I started to get so worried, so i called the embassy to ask why on earth it went back to the previous status.

THE CC agent told me they already ISSUED my CR1 visa, but upon reviewing they found out that we celebrated our 2nd yr anniversary last Aug. 26...so they decided to pull out my visa and reprint it, moving from CR1 to IR1! Yay!!!

Aug, 5          Interview

Aug. 6-28     READY

Aug. 29        ISSUED

Aug. 30

Sept 2         READY

Sept.3         ISSUED

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsi want to understand my husband

Hello everybody! my husband and i is having a hard time  filling for affidavit of support, he has 27,000 for  2011, 10,000 for 2012 and 14,000 for 2013, We have the household of 3, so if i am not mistaken household for 3 should be 24, 731 USD this means we need to have a co sponsor i.am telling him to try to ask help from his relatives but he don't want to do it he is going to send the affidavit package to NVC with just 14,000 for 2013, he is saying that it is so hard and uncomfortable to anyone to just send out copies of SSN and W-2's, My question is, it really risky for an american to send copies of their SSN and W-2s? I am a little disappointed with my husband about this because i know papers will going back to us asking for a co sponsor and it will going to cause delays again. Please can somebody enlighten me and make me understand why my husband is saying that its not easy to ask anybody to send out copies of their SSN and W-2's,

We had a same experience. Household of 3, though we only submitted my husbands one ITR which was 2012. His income was only $15,000.00. We only had 4k in our bank account and no assets. NVC sent us RFE and advising us to look for co-sponsor. It's really hard for him to ask his Dad who is the only qualified person who could help us in this matter. He is willing to help us, but my husband didn't want due to personal reasons and bad past experience with his old man (well they weren't in good terms after his parents divorced). It's not easy to convince him but i explained to him the importance of asking his dad's help coz if not, there's a big possibility that our application will be denied. Try to talk to him again, even he'll submit the documents  you had, they will still deny it and the process will be delayed. You have to prove to the consul that you'll not become a liable once you get here in US.

BTW, after giving him the advantage of getting a co-sponsor and the assurance that his Dad will really be a big help to us, my husband, finally step down and asked his old man (who's earning was more than 90k a year). I just brought my father-in-law's AOS during the interview and without further question the Consul approved my visa. Now i'm here in US with my husband for almost 8 months, and enjoying everything with my hubby and our son.

PhilippinesA couple of very important questions!

The Endorsement for NSO Birth Certificate should be filed before the baby turns 1 month old. Failure to do so within his first month means that you have to wait longer til the Local Civil Registrar where your child is born submitted it to the national office (you can ask the LCR if they already did). I managed to get my endorsement two weeks after my baby was born, the Local Civil Registrar mailed it to the NSO Manila Office, after 3 days I asked my father to go to NSO manila. He brought the photocopy of the Endorsement together with the Original Copy of my son's Birth Certificate. My father filed for his NSO, and was asked to return after 15 working days. He managed to get me 3 NSO copies (P140.00 each).

The Endorsement Letter is for free, I only gave them P100.00 so that they could mail it through LBC.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDenied I-129f even though I withdrew first application

i suggest you just do it on your rather than hiring a lawyer...i'm not against them but i think you can able to apply even w/o their assistance, like what we did. the instructions from uscis, nvc and embassy are clear and well guided.

as for your dilemma, if you really love the girl and her to you, why not settling down first there in vietnam, then apply for cr1. the process takes longer time but the result is more convenient for u and ur gf.

more time for u and her to know each other, relationship will be more matured, but it's up to you. I'm just sharing my personal experience.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow to avoid administrative processing

As long as you guys completed and meet all the paperworks required there will be no problem. Questions on the interview will be based on what you submitted. My husband and I got married, a month after he got here, he stayed for a while, then went back to states.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEVIDENCES OF BONA FIDE RELATIONSHIP FOR CR1 VISA -- ACTUAL PHOTOS OR JUST PHOTOCOPIES???

we didn't send photos yet when we submitted I-130. I brought it on the day of the interview. The lady who checked my documents asked for them and handed her 3 albums (hehehe)...including with our baby's photos. Well that's what I did, coz the more supporting documents and evidences you can present the better.

Nell82FemalePhilippines2013-09-03 09:40:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures1-130 do i need an original statement from a US consular officer verifying my US passport is valid

When my husband sent I-130, he only attached a photocopy of his US passport and birth certificate, he sent though a certified copy of our marriage certificate, g-25 bio-metrics and our picture 2x2 pictures. I also sent him photocopies of my foreign passport, Police clearance,  and birth certificate. He mailed June 1, 2012 we got our NOA on Aug. 13, 2012

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1 Issued-- Good for only 2 months? Documents good for 5 more

may i join....so u mean better to go US in iR than Cr 1 ?

Hi! IR1 also known as Immediate Relative visa is given if you are married to your US citizen spouse for 2 yrs+, 10 yrs GC will be granted to you. CR1 on the other hand is Conditional Relative Visa wherein they will grant you 2 yrs GC (this visa is issued to those who are married less than 2 yrs). Then 90 days prior to your 2 yrs stay in US, you need to apply again at USCIS to lift your visa condition and change it to IR1. We applied for CR1, after my interview last Aug. 5, 2013 (it was approved) we celebrated our 2nd year anniversary Aug. 26, 2013. Due to typhoons (Embassy was close for almost 1 week) and random holidays my visa process has been delayed. But they become blessing in disguise because during the final review of my visa Aug. 29, 2013, the CO granted me IR1 Sept. 4, 2013.

The advantage of IR1 is that you no longer need to adjust your condition, plus it will save you with lots of expenses...the negative part you'll wait for quite a while for your 2nd yr wedding anniversary.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMEDICAL EXAM BEFORE INTERVIEW

Still awaiting my NOA2 but in the spirit of being positive and hoping for the best i would like to do my medical exam at this point so that i can be set when the time for my interview finally arrives. My questions are?

-Is it possible to do my medical exam now?
-What documents do i need?

I have read on several posts here that the US Consulate in Nairobi often transports the interviewees to the hospital of choice. How will this affect me. I would appreciate any feedback, especially from those who have gone through the US embassy in Nairobi.

Wait until they will notify you to have your medical examination. After NOA2, they'll notify you that your application is approved and your case will be now send to NVC. After you completed all the documentations and payments at NVC that's the time they'll move your case at the US Embassy and they will be the one who will notify you when to have your medical.
