Just want to update this thread...
Changing of embassy / consulate is quite easy. Email them your passport copy and any proof of residence with case details of course. In my case, my proof of residence was in arabic so i got the english translation and sent copy of both. They assigned me a new Case no in a week.

You do not have to wait for their response email It will take time. Better call the operator and ask you new case no directly.

In my case, I have some good points.
1) I've been married for 3 yrs now.
2) We have a daughter who is 2 yrs old.
3) We have been living together since marriage. (Except for few months)
4) We did not meet online. It was not a distant relationship.
5) We have been engaged for 2 years before getting married.

BTW, i have called NVC and they said that you have to provide proof of residence in Saudi Arabia. I came here on 3 months visa and then I got my iqama which is valid for 2 years. Now if I send them my passport copy, they will object that the visa was valid for 3 months only. I am thinking about sending them a translated copy of Iqama showing the issue and expiry dates. WHAT DO YOU SAY?

I have email the Riyadh US embassy as well asking help but still no reply. What documents you submit to prove your residence in Saudia?

So I think that I do not have much to prove to them that it is not a fake marriage. By the way

We did that by involving Senators . But i recommend you dont go with Riyadh US Embassy they are very Rude . We are thinking if they call me for 2nd visa interview we gonna try to change counslate to Islamabad from Riyadh.We are hoping they wont ** with us and will issue me visa from Riyadh.All i need is prayers of everyone .

Thanks Fiaz for such a prompt reply. Can you give me some detail about experience with the Riyadh Embassy? It will help me in deciding whether to transfer my case or not.
I am on Work visa here for nearly one year now.

1) It is difficult to go to pakistan again and again (In case the isl guys do not give me visa on first interview.)
2) If they take my passport, I do not know how long i have to stay in pakistan and i will suffer my job here.
3) As you know the current situation of Pakistan, you never know when they will close the embassy for undefined period as they had done in past.

Change Consulate

Hello, did anyone ever respond? My husband had moved to Yemen after our marriage (for work) so we filed stating Sanaa as the location. He has since moved back to his home country of Nigeria and I would like to change where he has his interview there because it will be too hard to travel back to Sanaa. Any suggestions? Finally after long waiting for more than 2 months in AP.. Riyadh embassy sent me back my passport with Visa on it..

After waiting for exactly 2 months after interview, I received call from embassy on 9th on this month that I can come on 11th and take my passport. Yesterday I went there and got my passport with IR1 visa stamped on it valid for good 6 months.

hello dear vj members,

here is my situation ...my husband filed for my immigration visa back in feb this year we recently had our interview at Islamabad embassy and counselor said that we need a joint sponsor I have two kids who have their us passports my husband is living here with me and kids for last seven years we filed three year taxes and he is making way more than poverty line inspite of this we added our assets too which are house cars etc but she still gave me 221g for joint sponsor now one of our friends is ready to do it for us his income is around 30k now I want to know when he will be filling household size would it be just me and him or he has to include all of us????

he is a us citizen that's why h has a passport. h was born Pakistan so obviously no us birth certificate. he snt his valid voter rgist. card along with documents thinking it might help cause embassy wants to determine the status of the joint sponsor and data sheet off the passport clarifies it even if it is expired.

My joint sponsor has expired passport but he provided his valid voter registration card and data sheet of the passport along with his wife's valid passport, his latest tax returns, w2, employment verification letter, signed I 1864 and I 1864 a. we have sent it to embassy. As a common sense it seems ok. what would be your thoughts guys. help me out if anyone experienced it or know anything about it. appreciate it.

If you have very solid evidence, you have nothing to worry about. Here are my observations about the whole ROC process: ( I could be wrong, but this is what I noticed.)

1. It seems like USCIS processes the straightforward cases first, i. e. people who filed jointly with their spouses and are still in bona fide marriages.

2. Then, they look at cases that have waivers, i. e. divorce etc, which are much less in numbers compared to straightforward cases.

3. Cases with waivers that have strong evidences of bona fide marriages are then adjudicated and approved.

4. Cases with weak evidences are then adjudicated and the adjudicating USCIS officer decides to send an RFE.

5. Then, If the RFE submitted by applicant is strong enough to remove the doubt about a bona fide marriage, the case is approved.

6. If the RFE does not provide sufficient evidence, then an interview is scheduled.

7. At the interview, the USCIS officer will try to clarify everything that is creating the doubt.

8. A case will be denied (which is rare) if the USCIS believes beyond a reasonable doubt that there are evidences of fraud involved.

This may make you feel better:

I actually did not have too much paperwork to show, and I was worried, because my ex-wife and I are not in touch. I did NOT even have a joint bank account together with my ex-wife. And, my ex-wife did not even change her last name.

Because my marriage was in good faith, I procrastinated, and thought that we have our whole life together in order to set up bank accounts, change my wife's last name and do everything else that normal couples do. My sudden divorce came as a shock to me!

Therefore, If you have solid evidence, I believe that you will get the approval, without any RFE and/or Interview.

Another thing I noticed is that USCIS is trying very hard to process the cases within 6 months. Mine took 6 months and 5 days to get the approval.

If it has been 4 months already for you, I believe that if you do not get any RFE in the next 4-6 weeks roughly, your case will be approved.

One thing I could not figure out is that whether USCIS pick cases randomly to interview people in order to assure quality control or just to meet government regulation that requires them to randomly audit cases.

On the USCIS website when we enter our case number, it says "Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

No email notifications from USCIS & as of today, no letter either.

Not sure what to make of it.

You will get a different number, when they request a biometrics appointment. That is the number that will start tracking your case online, after biometrics are done.
