Asia: SouthPlane Ticket from Pakistan to USA (JFK)
http://www.karachiai...information.htm This link lists all of the airlines that fly from KHI to JFK. I have worked for the airlines for over 7 years in my experience the best deal that I tend to find are over the internet, the next best thing is to go to a reliable travel agent, the last option might be to go through the reservation numbers of the airlines or go to the actuall airport they usually dont give a good deal.

Hello

My wife filed I-130 for her mom, which was recently approved. We just e-mailed NVC informing them of our address change. They e-mailed us back and sent the choice of agent forms. How long can we delay the NVC process. My wife's mom is currently in the U.S on a visit visa and knows that she has to go back for visa interview, but we would like to wait 2-3 months. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for your help

National Visa Center (Dept of State)I-864/tax filing type of question thank you in advance
My wife who is a U.S citizen filed I-130 for her mom. After approval of I-130 we are trying to file I-864 for her mom. My wife began a job in NY in June 1st 2012 earning about $29,200 while I worked in MA from January to October 2012 in MA earning about $17,600. I just moved to NY to be with my family after leaving my job. We have one child and I am trying to get the earned income credit So my questions are:

1. How many people does the NVC consider my household size to be?

2. How should I file our taxes to get the earned income credit? Married filing jointly? Married filing separately?

As always thanks for all of your help. I wish everyone here sucess in their journeys.

Hello everyone
So my wife is trying to fill out I-864 for her mom and I don't know how she should fill out questions 23 and 24B. on question 23 should I put only the amount that my wife made for 2012? and on question 24B only my income for 2012? Also i would like reconfirm my household size: me1, wife2, our only child3, my wife's mom4. So I think for the I 864 out household size would be 4 correct? I dont' know if this help or not i made about 17600 and my wife about 29200 hopefully this is enough to sponser my wife's mom.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLahore birth certificate
My case is on its way to Islamabad. I am trying to get the documents together for the packet that Islamabad will send to her. She obtained all of the police certificates and has the English marriage certificate already, but the birth certificate which she obtained from Lahore is written half in English and half in Urdu. I think the top part is in Urdu and the bottom part states all of the same things as above but in English. Does she need to get this translated so it is completely in English? If anyone has gotten a Lahore birth certificate that Islamabad embassy accepted please reply. Thanks in advance.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionResponse from ISL
HI my spouce mailed packet 3.5 to ISL per their instructions on nov 2, 2007. Today she recieved a call from American Express courier services. They stated that they had a letter for her. (I really really hope that it is packet 4) but could it be something else like a request for more information? A one week response time for ISL seems pretty quick for the process to be going smoothly. Has anyone had the same experience? Could they send her packet 4 after only 1 week? They are closed on sunday. So i have to wait until monday to find out what happens. Anyone with similar experience?

I just wanted to share some good news with all of the people who are waiting patiently. My wife's interview date has been been moved up from June 2008 to the first week of FEB 2008! I did not e-mail or ask to have it moved up they just contacted my wife. Hopefully this will speed up the entire process.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAnyone else have experience with administrative processing for IR5 category

Hello all:

My mother-in-law had interview at Islamabad on July 22, 203, but was placed on administrative processing. when I check the website it states the following:

"Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV"

I have some questions:

1. About how long will this administrative processing take?
2. Anyone on VJ have similar experience specifically in the IR5 category?
3. Does anyone know if Islamabad consulate generally finished administrative processing quickly? or could it be months?
4. She was also told that she would have to pay $160.00 fee when she picked up the visa? What is the fee for?

Thanks in advance for all your help

US Citizenship General DiscussionQuestion 6 Part B N-400
Question 6 Part B of the N-400 form states:
"Where have you worked (or if you were a student, what school did you attend)during the last five years? Include Military service. Begin with your current or latest employer and then list every place you have worked or studied for the last five years. If you need more space, use a separate sheet of paper."

I would like to know how important it is to fill the dates for my spouce's N-400 accurately? I know the exact date that she began her work because on her pay stubs it states the exact date it states D.O.H (mm/dd/yyy).

I am uncertain of her end date because
1. I am not sure she has all of her pay stubs
2. On her pay stub it does not list each day that she worked, it states the week and the amount of pay.

I have tried to contact the Human resource department of her work, they have not been very help full.

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

US Citizenship General DiscussionSome questions regarding Naturalization
I have three questions that require your help

1. I received a yellow paper stating "THIS IS NOT AN INTERVIEW NOTICE" on the notice it states that I should "bring all passports and travel documents (including expired and current) issued to you by any government" and also that I should bring tax information for the past three years using "Form 1722"

My questions are

1. Is this yellow notice normal?

2. My spouse has an old passport but it is not here with us in the U.S. I will try to obtain the old passport but what if I can not obtain the old passport?

3. My spouse will be interviewed in Boston, Does that office give you the oath ceremony that day? or do they make you come back another time? or do they give you a choice?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

US Citizenship General DiscussionPre-Interview Case File Review
Hello all

I recived a yellow notice titled "Pre-interview Case File Review"form my spouses N-400 application There are two "recommendations" that the notice is telling me to bring to the interview.

1. Recommendation
"Bring all passports and travel documents (including expired and current) issued to you by any government".

I have just found out that inside my spouses old Pakistani passport there is written that it is illegal to mail Pakistani passport. Has anyone run into this before? What happens if I can't obtain my spouses old passports by mail?

2. Recommendation
If you are applying for naturalization on the basis of marriage to a U.S citizen, bring an original Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 1722 listing tax information for the past three years or copies of the income tax forms you have filed for the past three years. For assistance, please call the IRS-toll free at 1800-829-4040 or you may complete Form 4506(request for copy or transcript of tax form) available at http://www.irs.gov/p...-fill/f4506.pdf

I know exactly what tax transcripts are but what is "Form 1722?

Hello all:
I am happy to say that my spouse's interview and test for citizenship is approved. She is now anxiously awaiting the oath ceremony. I of course have some questions.

1. What goes on at an oath ceremony?

2. The yellow notice that was given to us states: it may take two hours?

3. Will USCIS want the 2 yr green card and the ten year green card back or do I keep them?

4. Any thing else that I should know about attending an oath ceremony?

As always thank you for all of the help.

Make sure you enter the number correctly. letters and numbers only, no spaces, no hyphens

The numbers are entered exactly as they appear on the NOA

1.I got the ASC biometric appointment letter quickly about a week after i recived the NOA1 for I-751 Is this average, normal, late?

2. I plan on attending the appointment without any problems but if an unforeseen emergency comes up do i have the ability to reschedule the appointment?

3.How long does the appointment take ...... Is it an a day long process or hours or just a few minutes to complete?

4.What will they exactly do there? My understanding is that they take fingerprints and a picture?

4.On the forums some members stated that once i receive the ASC appointment Notice i should be able to check the status online at the USCIS website. But I still get a "Case not found" every time I try? Is this normal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I realize the answer to this is probably out there, but I need an answer pretty quick and can't waste time fishing through all of this......

My husband rec. his Packet 3.5 and it includes the aff. of support......I was told by someone that since we've already done it through NVC all he has to do is include a note explaining it's already on file......is this accurate? I understand, also, he'll need the updated financial information come time for the interview. Can anyone verify this information or correct anything I have wrong please?

Wishing the best and quickest for everyone.

My lawyer told me that I did not have to resubmitt the Affadvit of support forms again. So i didn't. I did submit everything else that they asked for hope this helps.
