Nagishkaw - You sound like a USCIS Customer Service Rep. They gave me that same suggestion.. ANYONE WITH A WORKING NUMBER?

Sorry, RDan. Try calling the 1-800 number. Press 1-2-1 and enter your receipt number. As soon as you have heard the status of your case, press 1-3-4. When you get a live person, tell the rep you need to talk to someone in the Escalation Team. I did that once and got a real live CO.

US Citizenship General DiscussionN400 question-have you ever been detained by a law enforcement officer?
No. Detained by police means she would have been taken in to the police station and held for questioning .

US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 part 10 number 16

generally, traffic fines not more than $500 and not dui related need not be declared.. i had 2 speeding tickets and did not declare it on the form.. on the actual interview though i mentioned to the io that i had those tickets.. he asked if they were dui, i said no.. he said no need to declare anything

this is incorrect per the form's instructions, part 10, section D, questions:

16. Have you ever been arrested, cited, or detained by any law enforcement officer
(including USCIS or former INS and military officers) for any reason?

17. Have you ever been charged with committing any crime or offense?

18. Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense?

in the op's case, all 3 are yes. from the form the directions are:

Answer each question by checking ''Yes'' or ''No.'' If any part
of a question applies to you, you must answer ''Yes.'' For
example, if you were never arrested but were once detained by
a police officer, check ''Yes'' to the question ''Have you ever
been arrested or detained by a law enforcement officer?'' and
attach a written explanation.

US Citizenship General DiscussionJury Duty

I would love to get Jury cummons... I am curious about the process :)
Aside from my own curiosity, it may be dependant on the state (?), but I am pretty sure it is illegal to do that.

in most states it can result in a bench warrant, arrest, and a misdemeanor charge. i'm sure our law abiding members don't want to deal with that.

US Citizenship General DiscussionNaturalisation from K1- lots of q's
post removed for including a suggested racial perception that is offensive.
edited post returned below

For my wife's friend, living on the Illinois side of St. Louis, had to take a train to Chicago, spend overnight in an overpriced hotel room, only to find out besides everything else she provided, like a home deed with her and her spouses name on it. They wanted to see a completely worthless joint utility bill. So had to make an additional trip to do that.

All this depends upon that one IO you are stuck with, would think with what you went through for the AOS and ROC stages, they would trust their own green card. When I heard that, ran to my electrical company and added my wife's name to it, sure enough her IO at St. Paul wanted to see that worthless piece of evidence, would think her name on our home deed, personal property tax bill, health, auto, vehicles, a German Shepherd dog, joint bank accounts, four of them, etc., will be enough.

----------------content removed due to reports----------------------------------------
Hispanics are not a race, but a culture. Both my wife and her friend, of German descent had to check that Hispanic box on their applications. With our luck her friend and my wife's IO were black and my stepdaughters' IO was Chinese. Neither could speak English very well.

Thought my stepdaughters' five year interview would go smooth, just in case, gave her four years of tax and grade transcripts, speaks perfect English and on the high honor roll. He didn't want to see anything of that. But instead made o bid issue of a four year old 50 buck traffic ticket she received and wanted proof that I paid that fine. That caused a delay, Personally, would have liked to snap his neck of that little SOB, but have to be nice and comply. Just let my senators deal with these people.

Both my wife and stepdaughter feel that came to very racists country, have the same mix in their country, not like that a all. But learned how to adapt, feel we ran into this same issue with the USCIS as well. But better to have too much evidence than not enough. For us, a lost day at work or school, and another 450 mile round trip.
