National Visa Center (Dept of State)	Seriously? Forever at NVC	Ok, so I have questioned the NVC before, but I am soooo tired of waiting! They received our petition on October 10, and logged it into their system on October 18. I have been calling every day to see if it has been forwarded on to the consulate. During one of the phone calls, a gentleman told me that after the petition has been logged, it is generally sent out within 72 hours. I was excited after hearing that, but now, well......it's been a little longer than the 72. I am so thankful to have VJ to vent to, lol. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Form DS-160	Trying to finish Packet 3....this form asks for exact dates of previous employment. The other forms only asked for month and year, so this hasn't been an issue as of yet. He can't remember the exact day he started at his previous jobs (about 10 of them). May I ask if you got the police certificate from RCMP or just the local that charges a fee? I did both but was later told only need to go through RCMP because they do a country wide check. I did mine earlier because I was going to be away and then our case is taking forever so now I need to have it done again. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Canadian Police Check	Ok, we just want to make sure we have the correct police check. My fiance went to the Hamilton Police Station and requested the CIPC. He received it in the mail a couple of days ago, and he just wants to make sure he doesn't need to request a different police check from when he lived in Toronto. I think his confusion is because on the bottom of the form he received it says National Repository for Criminal Records in Canada. He has only lived in Hamilton and Toronto, and I understood that if you request the Canada wide police check, that was sufficient. Does that one include local police records as well? US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Questions about Packet 3, Interview Scheduling, Packet 4	Ok, I'm going to put my laundry list of questions in one post(please forgive ) 1. Do we send in a COLOR copy of the passport bio data page with packet 3? My fiancee was told it was illegal to make a color copy?? 2. After our Packet 3 has been logged, it is my understanding we can call DOS to see when packet 4 is sent out. I'm confused because some people say Packet 4 has your interview letter in it along with the medical info. If you schedule your interview as soon as you know packet 4 has been sent, how can it contain the interview time, etc? He has started on a medication, but as of yet, it doesn't seem to be working very well. He did get a letter from his physician, and it basically states he is aware of the condition and is seeking treatment for it. Will this impact his medical in Toronto? Canada	December or January interviews for K-1 Montreal	We aren't far behind you! We are waitng to be logged in so thatthrm starting this thread for all those who have just recently gotten to the packet #4 /ready to schedule interview phase. I thought that it would be nice to keep each other informed if any openings occur and to possibly help each other out,when any openings are posted. Like many of our fellow VJ's from the previous months have done, specifically for the Montreal Consulate. I want to personally thank all of you for your input & experiences regarding your visa journey. You helped us -( My Finacee and I) save at least a month of waiting already. She received packet #4 /letter in the mail today EVEN though packet #3 was supposed to have been mailed out about 4- 5 weeks ago - (still never received it as of today). We took you advise & experiences and filled them out ourselves and sent them in,like many of you suggested to do. We actually sent them in the copies of the required forms DS 156,156K etc. and not just the checklist & DS 160 confirmation page as others have done, in case anyone was wondering. We did this because we have read on here that some of you were being delayed or even requested to actualy provide copies those other forms with the packet 3. Now comes the "FUN PART" trying to actually schedule the interview. When I hear of any openings, I will post here as soon as I can. For some of my fellow May or June filers, let's hope that they don't slow down to much during the next couple of months to focus on the other visa types, which I know that they do, but keep those k-1 & k-3's going. For those who are in between NAO2 & packet 3 , keep the faith & be positive it will happen for you soon enough. Good luck to all !!!! We aren't too far behind you!! Canada	Doctor says no to guarantor	My fiance is sending off (or trying to) for his long form birth certificate. He went to his physician today to get guarantor information. When he asked him for his registration number, the doctor wouldn't give it to him! He said that info can not be given out. So now what do we do? This man has been his physicain for YEARS. He is also the only one that my fiance can use for the purpose of guarantor. Has anyone else had this happen? Also, I asked him if his doctor had some form of ID number on his prescription bottle. Canada	Interview Question - Montreal	I am just gathering all my stuff for my interview on January 26th in Montreal....I have put everything in an accordion file folder...it has a handle...will I be allowed to bring this in? Canada	January Interviews in Montreal	Darren had his interview on Jan. 20th.. I was told today his visa was printed-does that mean it is close to being mailed, or is there a chance it will just sit there a while? I would like to hear from others that interviewed in January to see how quickly the visas were received Also, is the waybill number issued at Montreal, and what is the significance of the reference number? Canada	planning for medical/interview	My husband, then fiancé, also had his medical in Toronto, and took the train to Montreal. One day in Toronto for the medical exam, although he was actually there for 2 1/2 hours. He personally picked up the results a couple of weeks later. Three days for the Montreal trip should be sufficient. You will leave immediately after the interview, and then you will wait and wait some more for your mailer. Good luck to you, and like it or not, you are petitioning to eventually become a US citizen, these are the steps that have to be taken. A few yrs back a few k1'ers were fortunate and got Ei without EAD, but I believe that was because CDN Ei people didnt know what a k1 was,lol I'll preface this with please forgive my ignorance, lol. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	We're APPROVED for K-1 Visa. Yeeeeaaaaaahhhh	Well on Wednesday November 23, 2011, My Fiance was approved for the K-1 Fiance Visa. Thanks to God. She said that the interview was quick and easy. She arrived at the Embassy at 5:30am and left by 10am. They asked her basic questions like, Name of Petitioner, How and when did you meet, when did your fiance visit you last, what is his job, and why are you getting married? And that was it. She brought all types of relationship evidence and all they looked at was a couple of pictures. But it is advised to always bring as much evidence as you can just in case. Also I think that they look at your case in advance and that the Pre-screener makes the decision and the Consulate Officer just confirms or double checks it. Right when my Fiance went to the CO's window for the main interview the Pink Approval Slip was already stapled to her file. Make sure you do good on the first interviewer and of course then the CO. I originally sent in a perfect petition with all of the required things and relationship evidence, plus a little extra. No RFE's. But I tried to only add strong evidence with secondary evidence to back up the main evidence. We are both so happy that we have finally made it through the most important part of getting the K-1 Visa Approved. Next important steps are to book the flight once she has the visa in hand, get married within 90 days of her arrival to the US and the Adjustment of status I-485. My advice to those who are still waiting is try to be patient, don't obsess by checking online every day/week for NOA2 approval, Reasearch, reasearch and then when you think you've done enough research then do a little more and make sure that you quadruple check everything before you send in the original petition. Then sit back and wait. And if you don't have a job, well go out and get one so you don't sit at home all day impatiently waiting for the NOA2. Staying busy will make the time fly by. I want to wish those who are waiting and those who are completed the best and that you are able to be with your Significant Other's together forever so that all of your dreams will come true. Darren said the embassy reviews were spot on-they asked for no proof of relationship. They asked for I-134, letter of intent, and my tax returns. He got the nice lady with the dread locks, and she asked him these following questions: 1. How did you meet? 2. Do I have children? 3. How does the child feel about the relationship? 4. What do I do for a living? 5. What city and state are you going to live in? Then she had him swear that he was telling the truth, and she handed him the Welcome letter to the U.S. PIECE OF CAKE!!! What Form of notification of NOA2, first?	... given all that 'bad-mouthing/bashing' of the uscis.gov website and it's dsy-function,... For those of you who have received the NOA2 over the past few months, (and, perhaps looking ahead... to those who will receive in the next few months) {hopefully, including me!} [and dan]..... Here's the Survey Question: Did you first receive your NOA2, by 1) text 2) email 3) snailmail 4) other? I can't think of 'other', but it's early and maybe I'm leaving something out. We registered for text and email alerts, but didn't get them I checked the USCIS website one day and saw the dot had moved, and then I got the hardcopy 4 days later. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Smooth as silk	It could not have been easier entering through Newark POE. Emma was all the way through customs and out the door to me in under 40 minutes from the time the plane reached the gate. She went through the visitors line because it looked to be shorter than the USC line, was taken immediately to the secondary processing for new immigrants, and waited less than ten minutes to get her passport stamped. She was asked no questions whatsoever by the first CBP agent--she just handed him the package and her passport, and no questions from the agent in secondary processing, and no questions going through customs, even though she had two GIANT suitcases plus a carry on plus a computer bag. The only disappointment if you want to call it that is that the I-551 stamp is so tiny--we had both imagined some big, fancy stamp taking up the whole page, but no--tiny is fine !!! She is home, we are doing all the little things that need to be done to get ready for winter, and life is REALLY, REALLY good !!! Awwwww, isn't nice to be in each other's arms for good?!!
