I believe I saw one couple that sent their P3 the third week of July and they received their P4 a week later on these forums. Not sure why, they sent their P3 after we sent ours in, only difference I could find was that they did not schedule the interview before receiving their P4. If the embassy is putting people on hold for that reason alone, I am really going to be pissed.

The only other reason I can think of is they decided after the move to stop using safe files and we are all waiting for our documents to clear Chinese customs (3 month wait?).

On a side note, my congressman is investigating the situation. Not sure if anything will change but at least the embassy will start feeling some heat.

Does anyone have a change on their ustraveldocs site? Ours now has "CONTINUE " at the top and says an available appointment date. but still no email.And when you look at the next available date they show, it says no dates available , hahaha. and on the other site it shows it was updated yesterday china time

Yes, it appears CGI is making some enhancements to functionality. Continue lets you skip all of the pages to get to the schedule interview display. Doesn't mean anything about visa updates. Go to https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx? for those.

OK, i know who she is. She talked in group today, because there are more 4 women jump out freak out no P4 for one month. yingying said she sent 12th July, i told her, doesn't matter, I saw the bank email, stuffs be told , don't accept any package since 11th....I have been exactly go through what she did. i told her, her case maybe like mine, waiting for consulate open and be sent back bank.

then she IM me, and i complete know what your case details....I kind of worry about yours, because she mail herself, she have to call or email(email may not works because that would take 2 weeks get responds) to make sure they received P3 and under AP or not

for information I know, there is 10 people waiting for P4, there are all booked around Aug. two have changed to Sep, there is 2 have to make decision this week, and next week is for another woman deadline if she still haven't got P4, she have to change her interview date. And then me......and there is 2 women I know...there are waiting for P3 for 27 days, and their interview day is around 10th and 12th of Sep, I am sure they need to re-book too...

so yes, everything is mess up......

I confirmed that they received the P3 in several ways; tracking info, contacted embassy, contacted consulate and called DoS and all of them confirmed that they received our P3. We have been showing as AP in the system since the embassy received our package from NVC, I was assuming this was normal, yours does not show this when you check the status (https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx?)?

I am going to try contacting them again, still hoping we do not have to cancel our appointment just because they have not sent us an Email. This entire process is completely ridiculous.

I am in QQ group, I don't know JD's fiancee ID in qq group is what, but what I know is

Since May, the P4 is slow down, at least I know 2 they told me, they have been waited for 1 months.

someone who wait from May until June, and she just finished her interview at July....

There is at least 2 people I know they changed their interview date....and they still have no idea when the P4 will come

They sent P3 around 23 JUNE and 9 JULY, so we must be after them.....and they are still waiting

as the data I know, none of JULY P3 have got the P4, and I hear it would have some update this week, hope so.....

I am so worry about my P4 too, I don't want to book again because only OCT interview date open

so i suggest everybody who got p2 waiting for P3 don't expect they work fast in China side,and DON'T BOOK INTERVIEW UNTIL you know what the date you can have you P4, "One week" story is gone, now people doing one month, and P3 keep going to the consulate.....

The "P4" is just an e-mail. That's all we used. We got the e-mail 6 days after sending in "P3". You can't schedule the interview in till you have that e-mail.

I believe all of us have already scheduled the interview, no one waited for the P4. Not sure how many girls that is but possibly 20 in my fiancee's QQ group.

Our P3 was accepted by the embassy on July 12th.

I wonder how that's supposed to work with the medical interview. if the email doesn't say more than that, is that enough proof to get the medical?

I have been pondering this (probably illegal!):

Get someone to provide me with a Email sample then alter it to appear that it was sent to you (the beneficiary and/or the petitioner). Print your newly arrived P4 Email and take it to the embassy, when asked to present it, no problem.

This is rather easy to do, me being an Email administrator I can whip it up in less than a minute. Problem is if they check to verify that they sent it out; this would require some special work which I will not even discuss here.

I wanted to find out if anyone here had received a P4 after scheduling their interview first. In the P4 instruction sheet sent with the P3, it states not to schedule an interview until after the P4 arrives. I believe that most of us have been scheduling interviews before the P3 arrives or is sent (ours being the later) but before the P4 arrives. Just wondering if this may be the hold up and the embassy will not send it due to an interview being scheduled prior to the P4 being sent out.

Or perhaps the embassy just is not working at all since the move as no one has received a P4 in all of my fiancee's QQ groups since the move.

Due to the enormous amount of complaints the consulate received about the CGI mess, the documents are being sent directly to the embassy again, skipping the process of dropping off at the CITIC bank branches.

My fiancee received her P3 and is asking me questions about it. I thought it required a lot more information than she's listing.

She's saying the packet only asks for:

A copy of her passport

2 passport size photos

a DS-230 form

I was under the impression that financial information, criminal records and all sorts of stuff were needed for the P3. Is she missing something in the instructions, or am I getting ahead of myself?

ETA: Also, she said the packet included a copy of an I-129f form. Why would it include that if our I-129f has already been approved by US-CIS?

Our CEAC status still shows as Issued - Your visa is in final processing.

Our ustraveldocs status is Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery

She went to the bank and picked it up today, no notification that it was ever ready to be picked up so who knows how long it was sitting there at the bank. I did hear that if it is not picked up in 10 days they send it back to the embassy so I would not depend on either of those sites to tell you when it is there, either call or go to the bank and ask.

Our status has not changed, called CGI yesterday, they said it was in route, she will call or go to bank tomorrow to check to see if it has arrived. I'm thinking this status system is all screwed up, not good as I heard if the visa is not picked up at the bank in 10 days they will send it back. Not sure if that is true or not.

Visiting China, what type of visa?

My wife and I are visiting her family this Fall for two weeks and I want to make sure I have everything in order. This will be my fourth trip to China so I am familiar with the travel visa process.

Q1. I assume I should apply for the "L" visa type with 24 month duration since I am married to a Chinese citizen (she still has her Chinese passport and never changed her name) but is there a better visa type I should be applying for? I did a little reading on the "Q" visa type but did not see any benefits other than being able to stay for 180 days (not in our plans). If 24 months is the longest duration than I will just go with the "L".

Q2. My wife has her green card (for return entry into the US) and her Chinese passport (for entry into China), does she need anything else for entry into China since she has not lived there as a resident since 2013? I don't believe she does but want to verify it before we go there.

Confused! Questions! Help!

1. The P3 package that Guangzhou sends to her, does she open it? Is there part of the package she is not supposed to open? I've been reading about a package which only the

doctor is supposed to open and we are not sure what package this is part of.

2. Do we schedule the interview? I am seeing that they scheduled it for us according to the CEAC status website and the guy from DOS I talked with also said they would schedule

So I get online to schedule my fiancee's appointment, get to the final page where you have to pay, and they only take Chinese debit cards.

What kind of system is this? I can travel just about anywhere in China and use my US credit or debit card, yet, for this, I cannot. So now my fiancee (who does not have a debit card) has to find a bank branch and pay there.

Is being put on Administrative Processing normal a few days after the embassy receives the package from the NVC? I did some searches on the forums but all I could find was people who were put on it after their interviews, we have not even scheduled ours yet and the package had only been at the embassy for two days. I've read two different things; one, wait until packet 3 arrives before scheduling and two, you can schedule as soon as you have your case number. Also, when checking the visa status at https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx?, it also makes mention of scheduling the appointment and no mention of waiting for packet 3 (see below).
