He was told he was approved but put into AP. It's been 3 weeks today and when I call the DOS (whcih I do several times a week) I get the same thing.......still in AP, nothing is wrong keep calling back. I have looked around and found some information on AP in Cairo but not much that has been helpeful. Does anyone have any statistics on what current wait times are for AP in Cairo and any tips on what to do to pass the time?? Thanks guys!! Hey Betsy, so I called DOS today and was told they havent made a final decision yet???? they somehow think I was married before and now are checking up on that. Hubby told them I wasnt, interview was confusing, they asked about my sons father/my husband and he answered them but didnt mention that I wasnt married to him. They wanted a divorce decree and he told them I wasnt married and that maybe in Guam I was considered married but nothing official on paper. the nice american woman that interviewed him said everything was fine but just needed the divorce paper from me. He went back and she took the divorce paper back from him when he told her I wasnt married and she said to wait the usual 2 weeks to 2 months. anyways, the lady from DOS was very nice and told me to call back in 2 weeks. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Cairo Embassy Club (CEC)	QUOTE (th3mo @ Jul 19 2009, 09:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hi brothers and sisters whom dealing with the U.S embassy in Cairo , first i would like to post my experience at the Cairo embassy just to help others goes by it wish you all Good Luck for sure this is the most excited moment we all been waiting for to get happy reunion with our partners , so will let you know how it goes from the moment you in till you gets out , here we go....... 1- make sure that you are there front of the embassy lil early , they usualy start at 7:30am thats what the interview letter said 2- the security guy will show up around 6:45am and start to line you up into 2 line one for IV and the other line is NIV 3- try to get to the first of line because as much as you at the beginning of the line as fast as you finish and get out 4- will enter the security gate there is no id requested will scan your bags and scan you through the gate 5- after that you will go in few satires down and then will be in another waiting area ( get a seat near to the doors ) the enter door is the one in the right side ( lil hard to open lol) 6- when they open the door will move to the waiting area inside but first they will give a ticket number into 2 copies ( CO will take one and the other keep it with you for the other steps) 7- when you see your number show on the screen follow the window which will be handing your passport and 2 pic`s and they will hand you all the originals you sent to NVC 8- back to waiting area again ( you can wait outside where you been waiting to enter but not air conditioned area) 9- will call you again to take your electronic fingerprint ( left hand first then right one and the both thumbs together ) then will be back to have a seat again and the up coming one this is the interview be ready 10- when you see your number on the screen and its up to your luck how long you have been waiting before you got to that stage ( thats why i said try to get to the first of the line ) then will start your interview which is not taking so long at all and for real they are so friendly and always smile ( you can tell its there job to smile ) Good luck and i wish if that helps or not but i did not see any topic talked about Cairo I GOT AP BY THE WAY PRAY FOR ME TO GET IT OVER SOON Thanks for posting! Now concerning the "are you pregnant yet?" it's one of two things either you tell your husband to tell his family privately not to open this subject with you at all or to make sure that when they ask you both say " It's in God's hands" usually that shuts everyone up as far as I know since no one can do anything about it really LOL I hope I was helpful in anyways Angel I would go for delta! The positive is the direct flights to egypt they have, I just booked with them, the negative is that now they charge extra for a second luggage. As for the pyramids, we jus showed them our marriage papers, its kinda silly to do but hey, once they know you are american it goes up like crazy! DHL website said they recieved it but when we called DOS to check it wasnt enetered into the system yet. It took almost a week to show they received it. I can tell you from start to finish looks like between 7-10 months, depending unfortunately mostly on YOU! I had two "RFE's" from the NVC- that were really STUIPD mistakes! If it asks for "orginal certificates" SEND ORIGINALS!!! And don't forget to sign date and if there is a co-sponsor have them also sign and date EVERYTHING and don't forget to put it in the envelope! LOL-- those are my dumb mistakes with this whole process! But we have been at it since July '08 and hubby has his interview FINALLY INSHA'ALLAH on Feb 18.. we're almost there!!!! I just called NVC to be sure since my husband and I are trying to complete the DS230 and I was told once again that none of the paperwork needed to be translated if it was already in english or arabic. Here's what it says on NVC...... Photocopy Requirement In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents.
