United KingdomBlood Titre Test in the UK (Spelling?)

Okay, here's the long version of what I know from USCIS and CDC sources---

D = Diptheria
T = Tetnus
P = Pertussis (whooping cough)
aP = acellular pertussis

DTP/DTaP/DT/Td/Tdap all prevent the diseases. The difference is the mixture. A capital letter D/T/P indicates a stronger dosage in the mix. A lower case letter d/p/ap indicates a lesser dosage. Medical studies indicated that some teens and adults had adverse reactions to DTP so drug companies came up with new versions having lesser diptheria and pertussis components, mainly to be boosters. The drugs are named Boostrix and Adacel. One is licensed for age 10 and up and the other is age 11 if I remember correctly. The are not sold/approved/whatever in the UK.

The chart, being a US recommendation, would only suggest Td or Tdap for people older than 10 or so because of the drugs Boostrix and Adacel availabilty to US customers.

On to AOS approval, which is ultimately why we get these jabs. There is a hundreds of pages long manual for the adjudicators reference on every detail of approving an AOS. Concerning their checking of immunization, this is an excerpt of some of the ages/requirements for shots. (I've posted the whole list elsewhere from birth on up)

19 through 26 years: Td or Tdap (if DT, DTP or DTaP shown: okay to accept); MMR; Varicella

27 through 49 years: Td or Tdap (if DT, DTP or DTaP shown: okay to accept); MMR; Varicella

50 through 59 years: Td or Tdap (if DT, DTP or DTaP shown: okay to accept); MMR (if born in 1957 or later); Varicella; Influenza (during flu season only, October 1 through March 31

NOTE: I copied this before the flu shot recommendations for all ages came out in November. But from this you can see that adjudicators are told that Td or Tdap is the correct shot, but it's okay to accept DT, DTP or DTaP.

On a personal experience note: My husband got DTP (along with a bunch of crying babies) at NHS for free. He did not send in an I-693 from a US civil surgeon with his AOS. He was approved without RFE or an interview.

Thanks Guys,
This is all very helpful!!

I took another set of originals and copies (just in case!) but I wasn't asked for them. Or any of the evidence of ongoing relationship that I took with me.

You would be very welcome at future events. It is a very friendly mixed bunch of people of all ages and they get together roughly once a month.

Sorry to be a pain, but what documents did you take with you to the interview? My interview is in 3wkss and I'm in a bit of a panic that I have EVERYTHING!! lol

Hope to meet you in Roswell soon...

United KingdomInterview Letter

I never received a hard copy of the interview letter. I just printed out the email and that was fine. Good luck - we were in Roswell with the Brits in Atlanta Meet-up group last night!

Oh great!! The letter (e-mail) says not to bring any original documents if they were already submitted to the NVC. Did you still take them?? I don't want to leave anything to chance.

I wish I knew about the Roswell Meet & Greet as I have been here spending time with hubby since Thanksgiving!! Hopefully I'll be invited to the next one!! LOL!!

I don't think NVC will send any hard copy if both petitioner and beneficiary's emails are on file.

Thanks, this is helpful. We have a joint e-mail so maybe thats why we didn't get a hard copy.

United KingdomInterview Letter
Thing is, I'm in the US spending time with my husband. My interview is February 13th and I'm due to return to London shortly before that to prepare. My daughter has been looking out for the letter but thus far says it has not arrived. My husband has not received a copy of the letter here in the US either.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat documents do I need if any?
Hey all,

I'll be travelling to visit my husband next month for a few weeks. A little worried about the 'Purpose of visit' question... Which (if any) documents do I need to bring with me?

Thanks

If you are pursuing a CR1 visa, yes, the "joint sponsor" would provide an I-864.

Oops! Yes 'Joint Sponsor' All this new terminology is driving me crazy!! LOL

Thank you so much!!

My husband says our co sponsor already did both forms (just in case) so shouldn't be an issue as he still has the I-186..

I should add that if you send an affidavit of support to NVC, it will be for the CR1, not the K3.

So our co-sponsor should also fill out the I-864 even though she already did the I-134 for the K3?

By filing two petitions, you opened two potential paths to a visa. Use the affidavit of support applicable to the visa sought.

Ok,

Thanks a million!

Another question if I may...

Because we filed the K3 we were told to submit the I-134 Affidavit Of Support (By the London Embassy) however, the CR1 flow chart states we have to submit the I-864. Does this mean we have to now submit it or does the I-134 still stand??

This preference category indicates spouse of US Citizen where the marriage took place less than two years ago. Simply follow the CR1 guide. Does this case number refer to an I-130 petition? Did you also file an I-129F petition. If not, there's no K3 possible. You are on the CR1 visa path.

Thank you pushbrk,
Yes we filed the I-129F also.

Thanks again you've been very helpful!

Bryan and I started on the K3 visa on the advice of my sister. We have now got to the NOA2 stage and recently Bryan sent an e-mail to the NVC about me completing the process in the US as I was due to visit him soon. (They said no by the way, as I guessed they would).

I am now confused as to what to do (if anything) after noticing that they have listed our preference category as CR1. Can anyone explain what this now means for us?

Is it now OK to send it directly to the NVC or do I still have to send it to my husband??

Thanks guys,
We don't need any further delays at this point... We have sent the originsls to the NVC but I will get certified originals, just in case.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOriginal Documents
The NVC wants originals: (In my case)
BIRTH CERTIFICATE
POLICE CERTIFICATE
DIVORCE DECREE
ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
Then completes it's case.

I have read: 'Ensure that all necessary original documents will be available at the time of the interview'
Does this mean I have to get all those documents again? Or will we just need the passort, etc and supporting evidence of relationship?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVaccinations from UK
Yes Joanne is absolutely correct!! I fall into the 18-64 age group too...

I had to go back and get my MMR booster four weeks after the initial one, I didn't need a flu jab as it was a cople of weeks ago and not flu season yet. I got the Hep B x 2 (which I later found out wasn't needed) but hey, I guess it won't hurt huh? (They were all free)!!

Good luck with your medical, mine was at 8.50am (the 1st appt that day) so I was out of there in less than an hour..

Is your case complete at NVC? Ours was completed on 26th September (they only received the IV package one business day earlier) and we called and spoke to an operator last night who told us that my interview is 8th November. You might be lucky.

PS Looks like we will both be flying to Atlanta!

Thanks Cathy...

Our case should be complete sometime this week.. I pray that I get an early November interview like you!!

Where in Atlanta will you be living?

We are currently waiting on an interview date and I have booked my flight for November 24th... (Yep, I'm always optimistic)!!

My question is this:
How likely do you think it would be that I'm denied entry if I don't get an interview date before November but still want to use the purchased ticket for some time with my husband? What kind of proof (apart from proof of interview) do you think I'd need that I intend to return to the UK? :help:

Praying hard!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCase Complete to Interview London

We had case closed on 08/22 and were given our interview date of 10/13 on 08/25. I really don't think there's any rhyme or reason to what they do. I've given up trying to figure it out and just going with the flow. I had a headache for a good month through NVC. I'm just glad that bit is done!

I've had headaches for two months! We've paid everything and done all the forms so now we're just waiting for our case to complete.
Spent hours filling out the DS forms last night... another headache!! LOL

Good luck to you all!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInterview Question for CR1

Having done a visit visa and my daughters US citizenship in London... I would recommend you take everything original that you can, even if you've already submitted it previously. Don't give them a reason to refuse if you can help it :-)

Also as an aside.. the London embassy is more like a bank with different people at different windows. After passing security, you go in, sit down, get a number, get called, told to sit down.. possibly even get told to go out down the road and get 'proper' passport pictures and then come back lol. But it's an up and down process with long waiting times between being seen. The US embassy side is much more friendly btw.

Thanks very much! We'll get certified copies to add to the originals we already have... no point in leaving anything to chance!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInterview Question for CR1
So my interview has been set for 13th February and I have a question about what to take with me. The e-mail states this:

Reminders
* Any original documents that were requested by the NVC but were not submitted to the
NVC must be brought to the visa interview.
* The applicant must bring his/her medical examination results to the visa interview in an
envelope sealed by the medical office.
* The applicant must bring the correct size and number of photographs to the visa
interview. They must measure 2 inches by 2 inches (5 cm by 5 cm) on a white
background.
* IF a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) AND provided the NVC with proof of
an IRS Federal Income Tax Extension in lieu of a Federal Income Tax Return, the
applicant must bring the sponsor's most recent Federal Income Tax Return to the visa
interview.
* Failure to present all necessary documents to the Consular Officer will result in the
applicant's immigrant visa being refused at the initial interview.

I've read on the reviews for London that others have taken original documents despite having already submitted them to the NVC. Is this recommended?

Any help and/or advice from recent interviewees at London would be much appreciated.
