United KingdomMRV Fees/Courier Fees

Hello all,

Recently I have signed up with the website to pay the MRV fees and request Home Delivery. At the time of registration, however, I did not have sufficient funds to pay the MRV.

Instead, I paid solely for the courier home delivery system.

When I came back to pay for the MRV, the option was no longer there. I've read on several forums people were having this issue. They suggested to create another account with the same case number and to carry on with paying for the MRV.

On the account with the MRV paid, I didn't do the Home Delivery since I paid for it on the other account.

Does anyone know if this matters any? They're both synced up with the same case number and personal information.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK1 Visa-Medical History / Unable to work

Hello everyone,

I wonder if someone could help ease our minds here.

I (Amy) had my medical on Thursday. I have mild spina bifida, I have never claimed disability, I am fully functional, able to work, I don't need any walking aids or take medication for it besides the standard ibuprofen & paracetamol.

I provided the doctor with my medical history (letter from my neurosurgeons to my GP) of which she was satisfied. She had written down a lot from the letters and put it down on her form that she sends to the embassy.

Upon reading one of the letters from my GP, it had stated "Amy currently feels unable to work due to back pain", which was back in 2011 when I was doing duties in my job that required heavy lifting/running around etc.

Will the embassy put this as a negative & possibly deny me due to the fact that I was unable to work at that time? I left that job & got a desk job instead, so was never really out of work long, I simply left the strenuous job & found another.

I have 4 days until my interview & am panicking about it. If someone could help shed some light here, we would be very greatful.

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsGot in through Detroit! Had a small bump to overcome...

When I came to visit Dan back in June, i was kept back for 3 hours and interrogated like I was a criminal. I had all my paperwork for the K1, proof that i was going back home in 87 days, even my police records. #

They took me to the back of the airport, and made me wait in the waiting room where the staff were generally rude to the people in there, or talking about them with their buddies. I was then taken into a private room with a guy who then proceeded to google me, my fiance, where we lived, my fiancees band, and tried to trip me up about where we met.

Your advice is spot on, just stay calm. If you arent doing anything wrong, you will be fine!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisa Conditionally Approved...now what?!

Hello All,

Our K1 visa was approved on Wednesday, but I was told as the embassy hadn't received my medical results yet, I would have to wait up to 10 days for my passport.

I called the Knightsbridge doctors when I got home and the embassy already had them on the Wednesday. Is there any way to check for when they have processed everything & will send my passport back or do I have to carry on waiting?

Thanks in advance

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 arrived whilst visiting for 3 months

noa2 has a validity date

this will dictate everything

extensions can be granted by the embassy

Our validity date goes until October.

So, do you think it'll be alright to send off the necessary forms now and then have her arrange the medical once she gets back to the UK in September?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 arrived whilst visiting for 3 months

Hi All,

We received our NOA2 2 weeks ago (June 19th). My fiancee is currently visiting me for 3 months, due to return to the UK in September.

We need to know if she will need to return home early to sort out her medical and prep for the interview or if there is the possibility of waiting until September to arrange it all.

Anyone else face this predicament before? Or know anything that can help?

Thanks!

Daniel & Amy

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWorried of being depicted as lying

Not an issue in the slightest.  This is really splitting hairs.  Waste your time worrying about something else.

You think so?

We were just thinking they'd use that answer on the 129F and cross-reference it with the types of visas she listed in the DS-230 (question 35: where you list when you came to the states and with what visas) to see if they matched up.

Maybe we are thinking too deep into it, but also, I feel like it is a valid reason to get anxious over.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWorried of being depicted as lying

Hey all,

Our interview is rapidly approaching, and as some of you may know, we're getting anxious, excited, and nervous!

There has been one thing that has been plaguing our minds for a bit, though.

When I initially filled out the I-129F, under question 18 (Describe the circumstances under which you met), I unknowingly put down that she was here on a tourist visa when she was actually here on a visa waiver program. I was unaware of this up until we received our NOA2 and had a glance over everything again and she pointed that out.

Now that the interview is approaching, we are getting nervous that this is going to come back and bite us.

I wasn't intentionally lying when filling out the form, I just didn't know any better. So, I don't know if there has any legality that can come into play.

What are your thoughts on the situation? Would this even be brought up in the interview?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurespoverty guidelines

Hello all,

I've got my aunt as a co-sponsor to fill out the I-134 affidavit and I noticed that she has quite a few dependents.

With herself, her daughter, her parents, and my fiancee, that makes a household size of 5, correct?

Am I right in thinking that the petitioner isn't included in the household size?

I'm also a bit worried, because with a household size of 5 (125% is $34,463) and she roughly makes $35,500, we can't afford to make that mistake of miscounting.

And I wasn't too sure if, her being so close to the line, they would look at it any differently than someone who made exceptionally more.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMistake made on initial package K1...Interview Wednesday..HELP!

Hey all,

Our interview is on Wednesday, and of course, we are very nervous and need some peace of mind-for our own sanity!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA change of heart...and country?

Hi All,

So, I am leaving on Wednesday on my K1 visa. Once in, I understand I have 90 days in which to get married. Recently our situation has dramatically changed and we are now considering both moving back to the UK. (yes I know, after all this time waiting for the K1!) What options do we have?

We are under the impression we can still marry within the 90 day period, but then we are thinking of flying back to the UK to be with my family just before Christmas (a few weeks before 90 day period is up) & have Dan (USC) come in on a 6 month visa and file for a spousal visa once I get a new job. Will this cause any problems at POE when going back to the UK?

Has anyone had to face this situation before? If so, how did you overcome it?

Could anyone offer any constructive advice to us at this point?

Thank you in advance
