US Citizenship General Discussion	First interview was postponed by USCIS	I went to my interview appointment for a naturalization test. Because I am deaf they were unable to conduct the interview. They said I would be reschedueled an interview in 2 months. Will I receive a new letter with appointment day and time? HAs anybody had to rescheduel an interview? What was the process. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	SAWASDEE 2	WOOHOOOOO!!! My AOS is approved!!!! YEY we went to charlotte today (3 hrs drive) for 9.30 appointment.. they called us in at 9.20 (we arrived like 45 mins early) and she just took our papers and ask me only one question..."how did we meet" and then we talked all about our dog and her dogs and then she said i'm approved!! YEY !! we went out at 9.35am... in and out.. so fast! I was kinda panic though so I gave her my real documents (also my W2) and i wasnt thinking about it until we drove back.. i have to ask for a replancment we had the copy but well.. she got both the real one and the copy one and problably didnt notice it ... or - it might just laying around in the waiting area.. who know.. i know only i dont have it now.. lol she also took my EAD cards (the real one and the interim one) and i have a stamp on my passport - the Green Card will be in a mail about 2 weeks oh.. she mention that she was so surprised our case is done so fast.... normally Charllote office takes longer time... we just fly!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	SAWASDEE 2	VISA APPROVED, YAHOO! I am here with Jum for a few weeks and we were approved this morning. We both got there about 6am and greeted Khun Su (who was first in line, I might add) and gave her the special document delivery. Upon entry into the Embassy, we turned in the required paperwork after Su. We waited a few hours and watched several students get their visas. Jum was called among the first K-1 applicants. One simple question: Window 6 - Farang Male How many times has C.J. been to Thailand? Come pick up your visa tomorrow at 3pm. The wait is over and one step complete, Jum and I are both very happy. Thanks for all of the support and encouragement from everyone here. We will be celebrating in Thailand here! C.J. & Jum (together again!) Quick Question for anyone. Once the visa is approved, I know they say to come back the next day at 3pm. Is it possible to come another day a few days after that...at 3pm of course? Jum and I have a tight travel schedule and we would definitely not want to sacrifice losing the visa or something at this point in the journey. Any help appreciated! C.J. & Jum Congratulations!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	SAWASDEE 2	FYI, Paiwan and I are officially married now. We had our civil ceremony yesterday. We were able to get multiple copies of our certified marriage certificate afterwards. We just need a couple more things and we will be ready for the AOS/EAD/AP paperwork! Congratulations........... Hello All, I just wanted to report a successful interview in Bangkok on February 2. Today Meaw and I went to the embassy at 3:00pm and picked up her passport and K-1 visa along with the sealed envelope for US immigration. The interview was a piece of cake. The consular officer's name is Thomas, he was very nice. He asked Meaw only 2 questions: 1)How many times has your fiance come to visit you?, and 2)Where did you meet your fiance? The whole thing took about 2 minutes. The funny part came when he took Meaw's fingerprints. He asked Meaw to place the index finger of her right hand on the fingerprint thingy, no problem. Then he asked for her to do the left index finger. So, Meaw, not being familiar with the process put both her left and right index fingers on the thingy at the same time. After I stopped chuckling I explained that one at a time was what was needed. On another subject, I don't think it behooves anyone to get to the embassy at 5 or 6 am in the morning. Unless you want to get up really early and spend more time hanging out on Wireless Road. They didn't let anyone in until 7:30am. The order in which you turn in your package in at window 5 does not dictate the interview order, it was completely random. The woman in front of us got lucky and just happened to be the first interview that day. Our interview was the eighth one. Neither she or us was first to turn in our respective packages. They do 17 interviews a day, everyday. We went to the interview with the man who has been helping us throughout the process and is at the embassy several times each week. He says, Thomas(consular officer) does not even start the first interview until 9am. Sure enough, 9:05, first interview. We got to the embassy at about 7:00am, tuned in our package, had our interview and were out of there at 11:00am. The embassy is no longer accepting walk-ins for interview dates. The forms and checklist must be mailed in and the embassy mails you the interview date. Kind of a bummer. I don't have incredible faith that they can get the mail where it is supposed to go all of the time. Case in point, Meaw now has her visa in hand and we are still waiting for her Packet 3!
