Philippines	already here in US..	If you will renew your passport here in US and wants to use your married name you will have to submit a Report of marriage to the Philippine Consulate first then apply for an amendment of passport. I did it in 2008 and good thing I made it before they announced that passport applicants must apply in person for the new MRP or machine readable passport where they will take your fingerprints and signature. Best thing to do is call the consulate and ask. If you will do it in Philippines, you might be asked for the report of marriage too if you want to use your married name since your marriage was solemnized in US but not sure about this so better call them. Philippines	already here in US..	You may have problems trying to travel on a passport that is so close to expiring. Philippines	LDR's or Long-Distance Relationships	Hello to my VJ family:) This topic is for you guys and gals who are currently with their partners in the US. But all other thoughts are welcome as well:) I am currently on my fourth month of being in a LDR with my husband in CA He came in the Philippines to see me last Christmas and stayed 'til the New Year... and once again *sighs* left for the United States Our visa application is still being processed and I know it will be 7-9 more months ( or less God willing) before I will be with him... I know I'm getting really sentimental right now. I really miss my hubby... Our communication is by constant phone, email and chat. We also send each other photos. I guess what I miss most from everything is his physical presence and the (we're all mature individuals here) the intimacy I just wanted to know how did you guys have kept the love alive within the months you've not been together. Philippines	Hello!i need some help again..	As far as I remember, the church requires you to submit your marriage license from the local registrar office but since you got married here in US, I think you need to report your marriage to NSO first and secure your marriage contract. I am not really sure how that works. Also they will be asking yours & your husband birth certificates, baptismal certificates and confirmation certificate. There will be a marriage banns also which will be posted for 3 consecutive Sundays, so better plan a longer vacation in the Philippines. Some parish will require a letter from your husband's parish priest to certify that he's free to be married in Catholic church. I don't know if that is still applicable to you since you guys are already married but it's better to be prepared than sorry, right? I guess it's better to call the parish office where you plan to get married to have a complete details of the requirements. Ask if you need to attend the pre-cana seminar too. Some parishes are quite strict with their requirements...others are considerate enough. Philippines	need help!	Regarding airline ticket name,,, You might want to call the airline and talk to a supervisor if needed... They can re-issue the ticket,, for a name change,,, as it needs to match the passport... I checked with the airline I use,, American, they said,, as long as it all American Airlines flights they can do it immediately, If it involves another airline as well,,, it will take a bit of time as they need to request the name change through the secondary airline,,, but, once that is complete. The ticket will be re-issued in the married name. regards, Yeah we're planning to do that but we purchase at expedia and its korean airlines..and i don't think they will.Wife's passport will expire on Nov.16 and we're planning to renew it to Phillipines using her last name still.And renew her passport back to her married name when she have greencard too. Philippines	need help!	you may want to double check this, i can understand about the pre-cana as not being required by some parishes but i know baptismal and confirmation certificates are a definite requirement, otherwise, the parish must be very lenient. Philippines	need help!	We're also having a Catholic wedding in the Philippines in May and we were only asked to submit marriage certificate in lieu of the LCM. My husband was not required to get a CENOMAR. Are you both Catholics? As far as I know there are other church requirements you need to comply with such as the following: 1) Baptismal Certificate and Confirmation Certificate with notation "for marriage purposes" 2) Certification of freedom to marry from the parish priest 3) Pre-Cana seminar certificate The 3 additional requirements above are for couples who are both Catholics and both single never-been-married. You may want to ask your mother-in-law to check with the church about specific requirements. Note that there may be other requirements if you're not getting married in her parish. Philippines	need help!	If you are already married and just having a church wedding in the Philippines for your family, you won't need any papers. Your US ceremony is recognized by the Philippine government so just have a nice church wedding and don't worry about the paperwork. Philippines	Married life is great	I've bee married to my beautiful Filipina wife for over a month now and I'm so happy that she got to the USA problem free. It was worth all the time, money and effort for her to get here. But being in the midwest right now has its major downfall. I live in a town that is almost a third Hispanic/Mexican and there are no Filipinos here at all. When my wife and I are out in public we get so many rude stares that I can't believe, even from the Mexicans. My suspicion is that some people are just racist and too ignorant to realize she's not a Mexican in the first place. Anybody ever get that mix-up as well? I didn't realize the full extent of how narrow-minded dumb hicks are in rural communities in the midwest until I got married to a foreigner and started walking around with her in the grocery store. I don't care what other people think, but after awhile it gets really discouraging and irritating. Her first impression of the USA was pretty much people acting in that way. I had to take her to a big city to show her how much nicer the people are in general. People think most small towns in the midwest are full of nice, heart-warming welcoming friendly folk and it's NOT TRUE! I've been all over the United States enough to know that. If you're an American man marrying a Filipina that's moving here...don't expect her to like small town midwest USA! We want to not be treated like circus freaks walking around, or just a little respect. Doesn't everyone want that? I know how you feel as long as your wife,as i experienced that annoying stare when were at south dakota to visiting my father n law..He is living in HURON which is not the big.So there is a time we went to the restaurant and when we look for a table,all people there at the restaurant stare at me like crazy and made me think if i did something wrong,or if i do look funny..hehehe but my father n law explain it to me as long as my hubby..most people there are white and few black and mexican.But when we went to mitchell another town of south dakota everything goes well no stares at all.. Philippines	Why there are pinays out there who feels so conceited about theirselves once they arrived here in the States?	I have been to few states for work purposes and sometimes when I met a filipina as well, considering the time she was just here in the states, (say just 2-6 months) they feel like they've just earn the right to be a b**ch, and some thinks their a$*es don't stink.. I mean, there are so many trying hard to blend-in that quick in the American way ( e.g the way they cloth their selves, the way they talk, interpret things). Just because some girls married a foreigner they evolved too quick. I don't blame other people why they would immediately think that these types of gals really just use their husbands as a ticket to the USA. It makes me aggravated everytime I come across with a fellow pinay who acts like this. Why can't we just put our feet on the ground and stay humble. CAN SOMEBODY ENLIGHTEN ME WHY THIS HAPPENS??? But I would think that if they were not satisfied with documents for relationship, that would have been checked on the MNL-IV-22 form, so i am thinking maybe just verifing documents........anybody with any thoughts please let us know your are absolutely correct. they are looking deeper into your application, not anymore into what you have submitted. "...indentity and relationship issues..." looks to me like they want to be absolutely sure that issuing your visa will not be cause a national security issue in the future, if you know what i mean. i see a bias here based on places of origin and affiliations... Hi Zen Den, Sorry if i ask this,but what is MNL-IV-22 form means?understand if they would like to know more if the relationship is genuine or whatever reason is that..but for us who have real and have genuine relationship to the SO..It really sucks if you have to wait longer..i know im not the only one who miss my fiance..and i know its worth it..but its just sucks..in my case...only lack that time is my medical result..i do have my medical 17 and 18..19,20,21..weekend and holiday 22 my interview.,,and USEM received my medical result on 23rd..gezzzz..that turns out to white slip and wait for 6 weeks..how torturing it is!ohh I WILL JUST PRAY!hope they will decision soon..i miss my whiteguy so much!
