Mexico, Latin & South America	COLOMBIANOS CON VISA K1 (CONTINUACION 6)	Hola!!! Que todas lindas en contestar. Me dio una alegría ver mi nombre en la lista jejeje así apenas esté empezando, algo es algo. Pues les cuento que mi novio llamó al USCIS y lo que pasó es que él no envió la forma G1125 (o algo así) que es necesaria para que ellos avisen por e-mail cuando reciben los papeles, entonces, lo que ellos hicieron fue enviar una carta por correo físico. Por ese lado estoy más tranquila porque ya sé que ellos recibieron el caso y que está en proceso porque yo juraba que se había perdido en el correo jajaja El lío ahora es que esa carta que ellos enviaron llegó a la oficina de mi novio acá en Bogotá y como en el trabajo de él son tan reservados no me la entregan a mí sino que se la van a mandar a él a USA y cuando le llegue allá será cuando sepamos el número de mi caso. Me alegra mucho por todas las chicas y chicos que ya están con su amor o que ya van en camino. Aunque mi novio es americano siempre vivimos acá en Colombia, pero hace menos de una semana se fue y estoy destrozada , ahora entiendo bien que conseguir esa visa es como un sueño hecho realidad, se siente horrible estar separado de la persona que uno ama simplemente por un papel. Bueno... a demás de desahogarme quería preguntarles algo, con mi novio empezamos el trámite de visa K el 27 de Dic. de 2012, ese día enviamos los papeles y hasta hoy, 17 de enero de 2013, no hemos recibido ninguna confirmación de recibido por parte del USCIS. Ustedes creen que eso es normal? He visto que en general el NOA1 llega antes de una semana con el número de caso, así que estoy muy preocupada Muchas gracias por cualquier respuesta. Un abrazo! Ese es el caso de muchas parejas que he visto acá, se entiende que son matrimonios que acaban de empezar y que por esa razón no tienen muchas pruebas, por eso cuando te aprueban el AOS la Green Card que recibes sólo es válida por 2 años, durante esos 2 años es importante que recopilen buena evidencia para la entrevista para remover condiciones. Ahora, siempre está la posibilidad que recibas un RFE y te pidan enviar más evidencia, yo creo que depende del oficial que revise tu caso. Yo no envié evidencia y me aprobaron. Lo que sí es muy importante es que incluyas todas las formas y los debidos soportes. Mi esposo esta en el army y yo solo necesité mi pasaporte, mi visa y el certificado de matrimonio para sacar mi ID Militar y ya con eso él me afilió como su dependiente en DEEDS y en el seguro (Tricare) Todo eso lo hicimos en un día, yo no tenía Seguro Social ni nada. Lo único es que la ID Militar que me dieron era temporal porque tenía que renovarla cada 3 meses hasta que tuviera un número de Seguro Social, pero igual servía para lo mismo. Mexico, Latin & South America	COLOMBIANOS AJUSTE STATUS K1 P. 2	Gracias atenea una pregunta mas mas o menos cuanto se demora el proceso   Según las estadísticas de Visajourney entre el Noa1 y la entrevista se demoran unos 4 meses (115 días http://www.visajourn...ne/aosstats.php ) Pero hay muchas personas que aplican y no son citadas a entrevistas y, al parecer, esos procesos toman más tiempo. No encontré estadísticas acerca de esos casos así que no sabría decirte exactamente, he visto algunos de 8 meses y he visto otros de año y algo, no sé de qué depende.   Lo que sí parece igual en todos los casos es recibir aprobación del Permiso de Trabajo después de unos 2 meses o incluso un poco antes. Dianita hola! gracias! Feliz ano 2014 a todas!! Hola!   Para sacar el Social Security Card tienes que ir a las oficinas del Social Security, es un trámite que se hace en persona. Lo puedes sacar con el I-94 siempre y cuando este sea válido por 2 semanas o más, o lo puedes sacar con el Permiso de trabajo o con la Greencard.   Si lo sacas con el I-94 tienes que volver cuando recibas la Greencard para cambiar tu Status a Residente	Atenea	Female	0	2014-01-13 15:24:00
Mexico, Latin & South America	COLOMBIANOS AJUSTE STATUS K1 P. 2	Hola estaba leyendo este post y Quercia preguntarte si debo ponder el bomber como me va a quedar en las formats independent emanate de que en el certificado de matrimonial diga min ombré anterior?   Las formas las puedes llenar con el Apellido de tu esposo y en la parte donde dice "Otros nombre que ha utilizado o Maiden Name" escribes tu nombre de soltera.   Y debo eniviar el original o una copies? Y debo enviar tambien Los carnets de vacunas? Gracias por tu ayuda   A menos que ellos expresamente te pidan un original, todos los documentos que envíes al USCIS deben ser copias, ya que ellos no los devuelven. En mi caso yo envié todo en un mismo sobre, en el orden en que lo escribi en la "Cover Letter". Yo use clips para hacer como paqueticos; uniendo una forma con sus documentos de soporte con un clip, luego otra forma con sus documentos de soporte con otro clip y así. Mexico, Latin & South America	COLOMBIANOS AJUSTE STATUS K1 P. 2	hola a todas!!!! Tengo dudas con la forma I693A. Esa forma hay que llenarla y debo ir a un medico para validar la informacion. No tengo muy claro ese punto ya que he leido que no es necesario enviarla. Porfa alguna que sepa me podria aclarar esta duda.   Mil gracias!!!     Otra cosita en la primera pagina del foro dice todas las formas que hy que enviar pero no dice nada acerca de la Ds3025. Esa forma en que paquete se adjunta. Me enrrede con esto Hola!   La forma I-693 la llenan entre la persona que va a ajustar estado y un "Civil Surgeon" que es un doctor autorizado por el USCIS. Algunas personas no hacen eso y en su lugar envían la DS3025 que le dieron en Bogotá. Es posible que esto funcione y que les aprueben la aplicación así, pero también es posible que les envíen un RFE y que al final, de todas maneras, tengan que ir al doctor y llenar la I-693. Le recomiendo mucho visitar estos dos sitios donde puede conseguir más información. http://www.wes.org/required/index.asp http://www.jsilny.com/index-sp.htm Pero en resumen necesita: Fotocopias del diploma, certificado de estudios, calificaciones, y traducciones de cada documento. Los documentos de la universidad deben ser originales y estar en un sobre sellado. Le recomiendo pagar por dos copias de la universidad y que se las den en sobres oficiales, pero sin sellar. El motivo es porque así los puede mandar a traducir en Colombia que es más barato y puede revisar bien cada clase que colocaron. A mi esposo le faltaron 2 clases y si no se hubiera fijado en los papeles de la universidad, no le hubieran validado el título como debe ser. Las traducciones no deben ser apostilladas así le digan en Colombia que sí. Cuando tenga todo listo, puede volver a poner los documentos de la universidad en el sobre y sellarlo. (Parte 2)	Hola a todos y todas: Hace mucho tiempo que no colocaba nada en el foro, sin embargo siempre los estoy leyendo, SIEMPRE.  Ya case Hace dos años que estoy viviendo en los USA, como pasa el tiempo wow. Una de las cosas que hice fue actualizarme en ingles, y hace tres meses obtuve mi certificado de ESL. fue maravilloso. además mi mami está viviendo conmigo hace un año y las cosas en mi familia muy bien. mi esposo es un angel, como todo gringo friito jejejeje pero muy bella persona. Hace un mes larguito comencé la busqueda de trabajo, ha sido todo un desafío, si es lo en nuestros países, aqui aún más pues es otra tierra, costumbres etc. He ido a talleres (workshop, worksources) para actualizarme en enviar hojas de visa, cover letters etc. he sido entrevistada cuatro veces y una vez se me ha llamado a segunda entrevista. Me gustaría que uds, me compartieran sus experiencias, cualquier sugerencia es bienvenida. realmente lo agradecería mucho. Me he sentido un poquito frustrada por esto, no he parado la lucha. He aplicado en lo que siempre he sabido hacer pues según los expertos de estos centros de empleo es en lo que debo buscar.  A pesar de ser bilingue, a veces siento que ese es mi desafío... en fín sus experiencias sé que me ayudarán muchísimo. un abrazo grande Hola! A mi me parece que deberían, al menos, hablar con otro abogado que entienda mejor los procesos de inmigración y los guíe mejor. Tu matrimonio es valido en USA también.   Tienes tu NOA1? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	does this mean my petition got approved?	today i received a letter from homeland security, a i-797 notice of action ( NOA) and i checked my case status on the uscis website and it said       "Post Decision Activity On May 29, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283. For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.     i filed in february 2013. If it is the approval im just in disbelief right now??!!!   Yep, that's what it means! The beneficiary still has to go to the interview at the American Embassy in her/his country though. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Quick Question: RFE Letter of Intent	I haven't received the letter, just the notification, but it was/is the only thing that I know I screwed up in the filing.  I know they want original signatures, so I'm guessing that's what it is.  When we filed, we filed out the g-325a with original signatures, sent in the proper size passport photos.  Used boarding passes and photos as evidence of having met, so not sure what else it could possibly be.     Then I think you should just wait to get the letter and then you will know for sure what they're asking for. In my case, I was the beneficiary and my letter of intend was scanned, but that was not a problem, I got my K visa and I am in the US now. The good thing is that, usually, after a RFE petitions are approved pretty quickly. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Quick Question: RFE Letter of Intent	I just received notice to day that they are requesting further evidence.   I'm not overly surprised because my fiancee forgot to mail over the letter of intent, so she scanned it and I printed it and sent it in.  I hoped they wouldn't worry over it too much, but just in case, I had her bring it over here on her last trip so I'd have the original.  My question is, with an RFE, will the original which they have a copy of be sufficient to fulfill the RFE or will they wan to see an updated one with a current date?   I am sure she could send over an updated one, but if it's not necessary then I'd rather save the expense.   Does anyone have experience with this situation where they've sent in the original and got approved or did anyone try this and get another request for an updated version?       Hello   Did you get the letter from the USCIS and it says you've gotten the RFE because of the letter of intend? I am asking because that should not be an issue since many of the beneficiaries of the visa K1 are not in The States and usually send a scanned letter of intend to USCIS. When I came here with my k1 the first thing the officer asked me when he saw my k1 visa, was my package. They have define procedure for every kind of visa. I've never heard of someone entering the country with a k1 visa without her package. Is SO important that if you open your package before arriving to the POE you can get deported or not allow to enter to the States (when I went to my k1 interview the CO explained the importance of taking care well of my lk1 package and the things that might happen if I lose it or opened it). You shouldn't advice him that Darling, B & G never said anything about immigration officers not asking for the package. He said: "Airline will let her board because of the visa in her passport. Its all they check, 90% of them don't know that she needs the packet to be admitted into the US. But then again, its not their responsibility to make sure she does."   And the advice given was "OP, my opinion, don't risk it. Speak to the airline and explain the situation of the stolen bag and how important the package is to be allowed into the US. Airline might waive all fees for the date change. I work for a major airline and we waive payment when we have a passenger that has lost a passport or has a passport stolen. Only thing you should make sure is that your fiancee has a police report for the theft, show that to the airline and work from there." Suggesting that the OP should change the date of the flight, get a police report of what happened and work from there with the embassy. Hello all (:   So right now my fiance and I have been sent the letter from the U.S. Embassy with a checklist that he needs to complete before his interview. Everything seems doable, except we are concerned on how to get a police certificate from the UK where he lived for over a year.  Has anyone done this before and could advise us on how to obtain that. They're not all that interested in proof of the ongoing relationship. They want PRIMARY evidence which are things like passport stamps, boarding passes (not just copies of itineraries) etc. Photos are considered secondary evidence. I forgot to mention that the first time we expedited my husband was only asked to show his military ID (We've done this twice, Fiancee visa and then Adjustment of status)  So, probably that's all they are going to need from you. Anyway, now they are working on your case and that's great. I suggest you call them after sending the documents to make sure they received your fax and then give them a call every other day to follow up, it should not take more than 2 weeks to get an answer. Yesterday I received this in an email: Your USCIS Account Number (A-number): -- Information not available Type of service requested: -- Expedite The status of this service request is: Please fax a copy of your military ID to Officer: #### at ###-#### It also asked for me to attach the letter to it. Please fax documentation to support your request to expedite the application" That's it, so they just want to see what you have. My advice is go ahead and do it. The worst case scenario is: You send the documents you have, they don't think it's enough, the request to expedite is denied and your application just keeps going through the normal process. My husband had a DD 1610 form that had been sent to his email, that was what we used and we were approved. I've also known about people getting a letter from their C.O. and it had worked too. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Switching to different a different consulate/embassy	Well that just sounds fantastic!  I did include a letter requesting the application to be expedited specifically for this purpose but I was unsure if it would be taken seriously or not.  I think this is still on point with my purposes here.  Is there anything official that I need to do to have the process expedited or should the letter suffice?  As soon as you get your NOA1 with the number of your case you can call the USCIS and tell them that you want to make an expedite request. They will register your request and ask you to wait until they contact you to let you know what documents you need to send to support your request. That letter you sent with the I-129 they wont read it until the moment they want to check the whole application, so maybe in several months. 1-877-247-4645 that is the USCIS Military line. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Switching to different a different consulate/embassy	Hello,      My fiancé and I have just submitted our I-129F in the post this week and we have been hard at work tackling any potential problems that could slow down our visa processing time.   We have it a bit of a snag, which brings me here because it seems that this would be the best place to pull from the wealth of knowledge this community possesses.   At current my fiancé is in Ireland where we are expecting her to conduct her interview in approximately 5 months, hopefully less due to my work in the Marines and the conflicting schedule between a deployment and the need to use the visa.   The issue we foresee is that my fiancé is possibly short on time in Ireland.  She is a Brazilian there on a student visa which expires in March of next year around the time we are expecting her interview.  If it's possibly we would rather not renew this student visa because of the cost and so are wondering if it is possible switch to a different embassy/consulate in Brazil where she would return?    If it's more simple, the other avenue of approach for her would be to add an extension to her student visa but at this time we don't know if that's possible.   Does anyone have any idea what the best thing to do here is?  Hi! Surely somebody else will come up with a better answer but if you are a Marine that will be getting deployed you can request the USCIS to expedite your case. If they approve your request the process will take less time than usually. We did that and I got my K visa 3 months after sending the I-129. Love having to type this out... I really dont like the idea of 'rolling the dice' with the embassy depending on which day it is, or who you get that day for the interview, or if they are in a bad mood, and if they will or wont approve a co-sponsor. It is a shame the embassy acts like that still (Been there, done that) I had to dig up my ol' I-134 to confirm this... but my theory seems correct..... I dont see anything on there at all about a tax return unless you are self employed. To me, it looked like it cared more about the bank stuff, and your employment statement stuff. Hopefully your HR person wrote on there your hourly wage as well as your salary (28K) If they didnt...the need to do that. Down below on Statement 7 of the I-134 it says the following: "I derive an annual income of: (If self-employed, I have attached a copy of my last income tax return or report of commercial rating concern which I certify to be true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief. See instructions for nature of evidence of net worth to be submitted.)" Again...self employed...which you arent. I dont see any * after the part where you would write 28K that said they need specific examples or proof of anything outside of your employment statement. Id include your 2008 transcript when it gets here, and then call it a day. Maybe write a letter explaining that they need to look at your employment verification to see that you make 28K a year which is more than enough, and that the tax return only shows so much of 2008 because this was when you started. I was worried for a moment when I read your tear filled question on here. Now Im not at all worried. The I-134 isnt really asking for much. Id agree with what the lawyer said which was put 28K and if they ask... 14K was the remainder of 2008...you mowed lawns or something for the rest. By the time the embassy actually grants you an interview date(processing times joke), you will probably already have 17.5K in income from work that you can prove on payslips. haha. Then when it comes time for AOS... run the I-864 with your mom if you feel you still need it.
