US Embassy and Consulate Discussionvisa fee for k1
If you recieved your forms from the Embassy/Consulate they should be the most up-to-date, I checked the fee on the USCIS website and it says $170.

"$170

Please consult the "Paying Fees" section of your local office or Service Center page to learn which forms of payment are accepted. Acceptable forms of payment may vary by office. Checks should be made payable to Department of Homeland Security or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services."

CanadaCanucks Advice
Hello

I think you will get lots of help here. My wife is from Vancouver and if you look at the timeline it should be close to yours. Just like the previous entry, copy everything for your records.

As for evidence...credit card bills showing charges in Canada for him, US for you, passport entry stamps, telephone bills, print up a collection of pistures (pen & ink dates at bottom of them), letters...jsuta few ideas.

As for your question on K-1 visa stays, it is 90 days post entry to get married, no more for anyone. Also, be advised that I would not plan on traveling to the US post your K-1 paperwork being submitted (although is has been done and some will say differently, it could just cause issues).

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHere we go again
QUOTE (AntandD @ Oct 1 2008, 06:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi Aidan80,

I totally understand where you are coming from there. Likewise, I still think "cheque" is the proper spelling, and frankly the Americans can learn a thing or two about the proper English/British/Canadian spelling (lol..after all, the English were the ones that invented English, right?).

It's confusing here in the USA that word "check" can be used three ways:
1) Check (noun), as in the paper bank check
2) Check (verb), as in to double check/check something
3) Check (noun), as in to checkmark a box on a form

So, make sure you check to see: that you check all the boxes on the form and send in the bank check. No wonder this is confusing...lol... wacko.gif

Ant (Prefers "cheques" not "checks", Still waiting at the VSC...)

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionStaying Longer than 6 Months in Foreign Country
Is there a form number for the "re-entry permit"?

Also, my wife is going to be traveling back and forth across the border fairly regularly, does that count to rehack the clock?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestravel post marriage
Thanks for your help. Sorry, I thought this was for K1 fiance visa- related questions. I'll switch to another forum. I guess, provided your information is correct, that I will teach for 6 months instead of 12. With any luck my fiance will get posted in a country that I can travel with him to for the year... or, better yet, he won't have to go at all! Thanks again.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestravel post marriage
I won't have my green card until after 2 years of marriage, though, will I? Also, we are planning on keeping his house here until he returns (and the AF moves him to his next base in the US next spring)...so maybe that would be enough proof of permanent residency? I feel like a prisoner here!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestravel post marriage
Does anyone know what the rules are during the two year period after we marry in terms of out of country travel? My fiance is a pilot in the USAF and may have to go on a year long remote in Sept. I was thinking of moving to Mexico for that year to teach English (I've taught there before). Would this be allowed or would I have to stay in the States by myself until he returns? I'm a Canadian citizen...if that makes any difference?!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan I travel back to Canada after we get married?
Congrats

Let me see if I can help.

My wife is from Vancouver, I'm in the AF..so we understand your situation a little.

Ok my wife went back to VAN during the K-1 process...you can see our timeline for how long it took...she came down here in Jan and we got married in April (within the 90 days)...we are currently filing for AOS/EAD and AP...she can not travel outside the US, even to Canada, until she get Advance Parole (AP), once she gets that she can travel with no problems. You may want to look at the K-3 since he is going to be gone...i.e. you have to wait anyways outside the US while he is deployed, it is just up to you. Either case you wait for the process. As you know the K-1 visa has the 90 day time limit to get married after entring the county, but it is also has a 180 day validity that it has to be used in.
