US Embassy and Consulate Discussiona little confused with the I-134 form....
Thanks a lot for the replies, I guess it would be wise to just hold off on the I-134 for a little while and just save up my pay stubs.

On another note, does anyone have exactly what is required in "packet 3" or for the interview than we can do now? I know that a medial examination is required, along with a criminal record report, birth certificate, and some stuff from the copied I-129f packet, and more ongoing relation evidence for the interview.. But does anyone have exactly what forms are needed? and what else we can do NOW to prepare? THANKS AGAIN!

btw: just received our NOA1 today smile.gif .. its a start

US Embassy and Consulate Discussiona little confused with the I-134 form....
Hello everyone, I am currently awaiting the NOA1 and am looking into the I-134 from.. My parents are going to help co-sponsor since at this time I am a full-time student and work part-time (w/o making the poverty requirements).

I know that both me and my "co-sponser" will have to fill out a I-134 from but here is my situation.. I expect to leave this part time job in August when my lease is up and move into my co-sponsors house and find a job, while a prepare for Graduate School.

I am confused on how I should fill out my I-134 from.. by the time we have our interview there is a good chance that i would have left my job.. Like i mentioned my father makes above the poverty lines will be our "co-sponsor".. So does my I-134 form really matter much? If so what should i include or do? Thanks so much! Josh & Leona

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionQuestions about I-134 & Packet 3....
My lovely fiancee received the "packet 3" the other day and i still havent prepared my 1-134 forms. I just graduated undergrad last semester and left my job a few weeks ago to move back in with the family for a while. For the time being i am unemployed and studying vehemently for GRE's so i can attend grad school next August. My father is going to be our co-sponsor, however, i have a few questions on how to fill the i-134 form out.

1.) For question #7 what should i put down? "student"? i am not currently a student but intend to be next year and putting "none" or something does sound kind of bad. Also, should i include anything else aside from my tax returns and w-2's for the past 3 years? I just received my last pay stub from my prior job where i worked part-time and accumulated around $9,000 this year... but should i even include pay stubs or anything since i am not employed anymore??

2.) The second question concerns my father filling out the co-sponsor i-134. He is an inveterate high-school teacher and i don't think he gets pay stubs or have a direct boss. Aside from his tax returns and w-2 forms should he still inquire a letter that proves employment?

3.) should HE write "none" for question #10 on i-134?

4.) what should HE write under question #11?

5.) For question #8 on i-134, what would make the difference between being "partially dependent" from "wholly dependent"? if there is not enough room for all the names should i just write "see attached document _____" and leave it blank?

6.) Lastly, in my fiancee's packet 3 it says: "to send in Complete and return immediately to this office the enclosed DS-230 I, Immigrant Visa Application Part I, Biographic Data."
I am not exactly sure what those last two are.... are they all part of the DS-230? and should she hodl off on sending it until i get the i-134 forms in order?

My apologies on the looong post and any responses would be very so greatly appreciated~ good.gif
God Bless

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 Question.
Look up what the 125% poverty line is for everyone under their "household" number (your fiancee and everyone on listed as a dependent on there latest tax return). Also only one of them can be used as a co-sponsor so use the one with the highest income preferably, if one of them can pass that then you are good. Aside from income they can also use property value, funds in bank, stock, ect..... Other people on this site could tell you more...

Hi,

I will need a co-sponsor for my application and I need to know what I can and can't use. My parents are willing to help, but I am unsure of one thing with them, they have some income, but I feel like the majority of their income is social security as they are retired. Would I be able to use my parents as co-sponsors?

Thanks for any help.

James

You can use them if their income is sufficient enough to meet or surpass the poverty guidelines for your family as well as their own. I would have a back up just in case it's not. Good luck

US Embassy and Consulate Discussioninterview question... original copies on what? Please
QUOTE (hxxrmonkey @ Aug 31 2009, 12:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey Josh,

It might be nice but not necessary to have a copy of YOUR birth cert, an original if you can get it in time, although this should already be in the copy of the packet you sent in with your original app. You should definitely send a complete second set of financial forms, as they will keep those. If you make a neat little packet of all that they'll appreciate it. Best to give them as many originals as you can bear to part with.

They won't keep anything else except the forms and financial stuff, so there's not really any need for additional copies of evidence, but I would just to be safe. Your evidence could/should go back 2 years, and should definitely start BEFORE the 129 app process, just to be safe.

Don't forget this one: Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

And this: A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

Good luck with the interview, it's a breeze!

Hey hxxrmonkey,

I had totally forgot about copies of the NOA2 thanks! My fiancee has an exact copy of our I-129F petition which had a copy of my birth cert/ ss.card, ect.. so no problems there. I am currently waiting on the IRS for tax transcripts for me and my co-sponsor and well send those in as well as copies of my co-sponsors w-2's for the past three years.

But two more questions..
1) My fiancee got updated passport like pics for the interview, do i need to include any more of those passport pics for her interview?.. i included two in the I-129f petition of course.
2) I have recently finished undergrad and quit my job around a month ago to move back in with the folks for a bit. I am not sure what to put in the I-134 question #7 which asks who I am employed for.. ect. I will be going to grad school next year however at the time I am unemployed and studying for gre's. Do you think I can still put down "student" or should I include work stubs even thou I have a co-sponsor and just left the job? I just feel bad putting "unemployed" and then having nothing but zero's under that haha.

Thank you so much for the help. Me and Leona can't believe how close we are to finally being on the same continent.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussioninterview question... original copies on what? Please
While i am compiling "ongoing relationship" info ect... for my fiancee's interview in dublin I am somewhat confused on what i need copies of:

Is there anything else that my fiancee needs to have an additional copy of besides her birth certificate, police report, passport (make copy of every page?), the forms included in packet 3, and the ds-156 form?

Also for the i-134.... should i also send an additional completed copy of each i-134 form and copies of the tax transcripts, w-2's, stubs, ect, aside from the originals?

Lastly, for the additional "ongoing relationship".... is there any reason for me to not just send her a collection of original passport ticket stubs, receipts, pics, ect.. without an additional copy? And should i provide any evidence of our relationship before the I-129 petition was sent in or just evidence after? Thanks

US Embassy and Consulate Discussiona QUICK I-134 question (how many dependents???)

"YOU do not count on your father's I-134. YOU count on your own I-134."

Thanks so much for the replies, my father makes much above the poverty level so household # I am less concerned about and more about just getting this right.

I am however still confused on two things.

I AM listed as a dependent on my fathers last tax returns and am currently unemployed, as of yet i dont know if I will or will not be still listed as a dependent in I-134 as I am attendiing grad school soon. In this situation would I not list myself as a wholly dependent on his I 134?

Should I list my fiancee as a WHOLLY dependent on my co-sponsers I-134? There are only three places to list who the dependents are, should i just create an additional attachment sheet to list the names on?

Lastly, if his gross income is enough to cover it all should I just leave the other sectins such as (health care insurance, property tax amount ect.. blank or with N/A? Thank You all SOO much

US Embassy and Consulate Discussiona QUICK I-134 question (how many dependents???)
With my co-sponsor (dad) ive got me, my little brother, and my sister listed on their 2008 tax transcripts.

My mother is employed and they do their taxes jointly. Should I still write her as "partly depedent" on the co-sponsors I-134?

My sister is now dependent on her self, since she has anchored a job, should i still write her as "wholly dependent" on my co-sponsors i-134, since she was on the latest tax transcripts?

Now on MY i-134 form is it correct that i list myself AND my fiancee as wholly dependent (even though i am listed on my co-sponsers tax transcripts)....? pretty confused about this one.

Having recieved the NOA2 almost a month and a half ago I NEED to send this thing out ASAP so my fiancee can turn in her checklist. A Thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNew face here with a Question about fiance visiting the US before I-129 completion...
Hello everyone! This is my first post blink.gif although I have been browsing on this site for about a week now.

Foremost I just want to say that I find it extremely gratifying to see everyone here, with knowledge or experience, helping out those of us who are trying to make this happen.

I haven't made a time-line yet, mostly because I wouldnt have much to put on it at this point. I have just started the I-129 packet and told my soon to be fiance what she needs to do and fill out to complete the packet. This February she is expected to come to the US to visit. While she is here we are going to try to complete everything that is needed for the I-129 packet and we are going to arrange an appointment with an immigrant attorney to double-check the paper work.

My question is this:
I noticed that on question #12 on the I-129 from it asks "if your fiancee is currently in the US". Would it delay or complicate the process if we mail in the packet while she is here? Also, what exactly is the I-94 file/number about and how do we fill out question #12? She is Irish (from Ireland) would not be traveling from Canada or Mexico so does it even apply?

Also, are there any limitations to see each other (travel back from US and Ireland) while we are going through this whole process? Thank you again everyone's input, I can't even begin to say how beneficial this site has been so far. Josh

Filling out the 1-129 Packet I am not sure what to put in my fiance's SSN section. While my fiance studied and worked abroad last year she was able to get a SSN number for employment.. But has that # expired or is it still useable? She is in Ireland now and this was around 8 months ago....

Also to clarify once more on the "two hole punching" topic...... Are there any documents that SHOULD NOT be hole punched?? such as a birth certificate copy, the I-129 form, anything like that.... wacko.gif

I appreciate the quick replies, payxibka and YuAndDan. I am just so paranoid on getting a RFE.... I managed to find one more question for this form.. When you are asked to list months of employment and whatnot, if the month is too long is it okay to put for ex. Nov... i know this is getting picky...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSome probably simple q's regarding the G-325 form
Today's task it to fill out the G-325 form... and i came across a few conundrums...

First, this is probably a pretty stupid question but in all of those places where it asks to put the country should I put United States, America, USA, or something else? Yes, America is not a country, but I noticed on the example form, the Beneficiary put down Australia... Also for my Nationality/Citizenship should i put US, American, USA, or something else? blink.gif

Finally, about current address: I will be moving out of my current apartment in July and I will be moving back to my old house, here I plan on staying for a while. Should I just go ahead and put down my 'soon to be' address, since by the time I get the K1 I would have already moved there? unsure.gif Thanks so much!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes Student apply as an Occupation?
Me and my fiance had 2 more questions in regards to the G325 form....

When you are supposed to list past Employment/Occupations within the past 5 years does that include putting down "Full-time student"? I have been in college for most of the past five years while obtaining various part time jobs... That's another thing, will listing 7 jobs within the last 5 years seem sporadic or possibly give a disadvantage?

Also, my Fiance studied abroad last year and did an internship here over this past summer to extend her visa. Looking at the next question, directly below the employment w/in five years question, would this Internship count as an "occupation abroad" for her?
Almost done with this piece whistling.gif

Much thanks as always star_smile.gif

I have read the 'Passport picture' guidelines (which have been a great help, but I was just wondering how many of you all just took your own pictures w/a digital camera and without professional equipment or whatnot. Also, how crucial is a little facial hair? Lastly, included in the 'proof of having met' I was going to paste a few pictures on a word document and put captions below them. Is this okay? or do they have to printed on film specified paper ect.. Thanks!!
