AHH so that's the ticket. Get the senator involved. I'll have to keep that on file for any future problems. "knock on wood"...Lucky live in a small state like Hawaii with a relatively small population. Don't know how quick Cali or N.Y. senators would respond if at all...

I did get in thru the IVR to speak with an immigration officer at USCIS and they will be doing a service request to determine why I did not receive a NOA2 hard copy when our application was approved on May 10....I am debating whether I should involve my Congressman right now, perhaps I should wait and see if they resolve their own issue with the service request.

The Immigration Officer did confirm that we were approved on May 10, 2007 :dance: :dance: :dance:

But I already knew that :)

I just saw your thread. Your timeline looks similiar to me. I received a letter from NVC dated 21 May. I still did not get a copy of NOA2. I see you stated you got yours on SAT. Did you also get the an NVC letter prior to getting your NOA2? If so, I am hoping I get mine this week. This past week I had her send Ds-230 and Ds-2001, passport copy and picture to the consulate. We decided to do this prior to receiving packet 3. I've read that some guys have done this before. I've also read, but don't know if its true, that if they receive it by a cut-off date around the middle of the month, they will assign an interview date for the following month. If not, it will be for the month after. So, we are trying to get one for sometime in JULY rather than August.

He had to get his senator involved to get the hard copy of his NOA2 (and the USCIS site updated); I'm going to get mine involved this afternoon.

I already have my NVC receipt and after speaking to them (NVC) know that the application is on the way to the Embassy (it was sent on May 29, so hopefully its there already!)

Yes, I called the State Dept. directly with my case number and got more info than I did when I called the Embassy....and it didn't cost me $18 (I have free long distance on my celphone...)

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got an email today from my lawyer. They have packet # 3 from Bogota, they are sending it to me. Man, I can not believe this. I sat and waited with no touch since Feb 2nd, nada, zip, now it is all happening in one day. We have all the stuff for Packet 3 ready. We should be able to have it to the Bogota Embassy next week or at the first of the week after. WOW!!!!!!!!!! I am totaly pumped!!!!!!!!!!!! It has not seemed real, I was getting bummed out. I have been worried about the interview since the beginning. LOL. For some reason, I am not worried about the interview now. I am waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay excited. Happy, jumping up and down, I could hug everybody. LOL>LOL. Somebody pinch me.

CSC seems to have a LOT of problems with notification, I already have my receipt notice from NVC and know from speaking to them that our packet is on the way to the USE in Manila, but I still have gotten no official notice of NOA2 from them...and of course the website/phone IVR say we are still pending. :wacko:

Oh thank God ! I was sweating bullets thinking I gotta get everything together before the week is out. Whew!

I was thinking the same thing last week...then I had to work late almost all week, finally when I called and they said they sent it out, I was so relieved. Now I am just gathering up our bits of evidence...and starting to drill her on the information for the interview...God it is moving fast now, hopefully it will continue to move fast so that we can be with our SO soon... :) :thumbs: :)

What kind of drilling for the interview?

I had heard that the questions were pretty simple like "What is your fiance's address, name, etc..."

would suggest you try sending an email to nvc because heard also from some members that it's really hard to get through, you may email to NVCInquiry@state.gov, please indicate uscis case # in the subject of the email with the following information in the inquiry:

case # from uscis
petitioner's name
petitioner's date of birth
benificiary's name
benificiary's date of birth
approval date

I followed everyone's advice and called regarding a "possible RFE" and the nice man on the phone said, "What date are you inquiring about?" I said "Today's date." ....and he said the magic words "Actually that's your approval notice! You should be receiving it in the mail soon."

Yes there is only one. I dont remember the exact prompts, but its pretty easy to get to.



What's a good way to talk to the operator? Is there something specific I should ask or say to help get the info. I need?

Listen to the menu prompts, there is an option for asking questions about information requests (I think its option 2, then option 1; but don't quote me!) :blink:

I had to listen to them a couple times to get into the right area myself.

they gave us our NOA2!!

but the uscis website hasnt been updated as yet..... dont know why - is this normal?

Vita didnt belive me so I called again with her in a conference call on skype. We were approved on May 8th. Finally :D So if you got a bunch of touches but no approval or rfe, call the USCIS service center and go to the RFE section of the menu and get conencted to an operator.


I followed your advice and they told me I was approved on May 7......Thanks for the tip!! By the way, I had a touch shown on my status screen on 5/8/07 but no status update....strange.....:))

I used the calling about an RFE trick to get someone in CSC. Even though our online status hasnt updated, according to the operator, our case has been approved. But I'll wait for an NOA2 to come in the mail before I start getting excited.

and guess what!!??? our touch yesterday meant something and that "something" turned into NOA2!!!!!!!!!!!!! wuhoo!!!!!!!!!! im so happy :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance:

first thing did i when i got here in the office this morning, i checked my mail and i got 2 emails from CRIS!!! :dance: :dance: when the mail was still downloading, i was holding my breath the entire time :lol: if my computer could have been slower, i could have collapsed!! and the message says:

when i read the other email, it also says the same thing...i was stunned (at this time, i was breathing already hehe) then i also checked uscis and the last updated changed to may 2 and the current status is already Approval notice sent.

i cant wait to break this news to my fiance, he's still at work right now but he will be happy in a while too :dance: :dance:
