If it is just a connection in AMS then no transit visa is needed since you would
stay in the transit area and not clearing immigration or customs. If it is a real
stop over with the intention to leave the airport, let's say for a downtown
visit, then some sort of visa is required.

Nationals of certain countries also require an airport transit visa to change aircraft at a Dutch airport, even though they do not actually enter Dutch territory.

Countries whose nationals need an airport transit visa

Afghanistan
Angola
Bangladesh

Colombia

DR Congo
Eritrea

Ethiopia
Gambia
Ghana
Guinea
Iran
Iraq

Nigeria
Pakistan
Sierra Leone
Sudan

Somalia

Sri Lanka

Syria

u dont need a transit visa if u re just stoping to connect,we_destiny the case u cited is referring to who hold visitor's visa. when u re travelling on a student, work and immigrant visa u dont need on except u re existing the airport then u need transit B .if u doubt it contact any airline in ur home country or travelling agent

Jeje: We will have to agree to dis-agree.

I would follow the rules as listed on the Netherlands embassy in Accra web-site. As indivisuals we are all free to do as we like. But as anyone knows that have had a layover in Amsterdam, they check your passports before you exit the plane and enter the airport. I would not let a $100 visa cause potential problems the cost of 20 phone cards, that is not a gamble I am willing to take.

I also hope, that if your SO comes from one of the countries listed above they will get the visa. timeline.gif
Good Luck with your journey.

Hi

I traveled by way of Detroit to Amsterdam onto Abuja Nigeria. I didn't need a transit visa neither time I traveled through Amsterdam. I traveled this route twice. Hope this helps.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat do I send in as proof of meeting for the I-129F?

Hello. I have heard of people bringing in affidavits from friends who were there the day/night that you first met. It also helps if those friends are US citizens with SS numbers.

Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure what proof (to show we have meet within 2 yrs of filing) I need to send in with the I-129F petition that I will be filing if and when I receive an NOA1 on the I-130 petition.
Do I send in the same documents as with the I-130, or other documents like e-ticket stubs, picture etc. Please advise me on this.

Thanks in advance for all help.

sandybabe_onuh

Pictures (printed out not on a CD), phone records. IM messages or emails. Ticket stubs would probably also work. Basically anything that would show that you 2 were at the same place at the same time. Just makes sure that if you use tickets or anything like that that its obvious he would also be there. Like if you met up in Paris try to get his tickets as well as yours etc.

What I need to know here is, will my proof of marriage certificate, wedding pics and so forth be enough to establish our meeting? Or do I need to send in things like emails, chats etc. just like as if i was going the K-1 fiancee visa route.

I traveled to meet him back in april of last year for the first time. I have since traveled back just last month and while there we were married. So I'm unclear if I am to send in things like for the K-1 visa petition or, same documents that i have filed with for the I-130 alien relative visa since he is already my husband and not my fiancee any longer.

thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAssembling I-130 Question
Hi Everyone,

I have read the assembling instructions for filing of I-130 petitions. Am I correct in understanding that I need a cover letter for the I-130? If so, is there an example of the cover letter that I may go by?

Please forgive me if I seem to be asking some stupid questions here ok. It's just that I'm soo nervous about not doing everything with the petition correctly.

All info and or advice is soo much greatly appreciated.

Blessings,

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWill my NOA1 or (God forbid, RFE) be sent in postal mail?
Hi Everyone,

I recently sent in the I-130 petition to Texas, and got confirmation of receipt via UPS. My question here is, will I receive my NOA1 or RFE, through postal mail, since I sent in a money order for the fee instead of a check?

I know if one sends a check, you can see if the check has been cashed and get the # off the back of the check. How does this work with money orders? The money order I purchased is from USPS. I checked for a # on my receipt to call to see if the money order has been cashed, but found no # in order to do so. The only thing on the money order is advice on how to receive a refund if lost or stolen.

Also, I have already set up an account on the USCIS home page to be able to track the progress of the I-130 petition, but I don't have a # as of yet, to put in the case # catagory to see updates. I need to know when I receive a NOA1 or RFE, will I receive a # to track the progress?

Please, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIs it too soon to start gathering my co-sponsors financial documents?
[quote name='sandybabe_onuh' date='Mar 16 2007, 04:43 AM' post='780753']
Hello All,

My question is this, is it too soon to start to gather my co-sponsors financial documents? I have just now sent in the I-130 and am waiting on NOA1.
Since the I-864 has to be completed by my co-sponsor and has to be notorized, is there a time frame on the notorization to be and remain valid (say for instance, signed and notorized within 30 days of submittion ) of the document?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIs it too soon to start gathering my co-sponsors financial documents?
Hi Everyone

I received confirmation of receipt of the I-130 for my husband on March 8, 2007. No NOA1 or RFE received as of yet. I want to know however, since I am going to be using a co-sponsor, is it too soon for her to get all her financial documents in order for the I-864 that she will be submitting on my husbands behalf?

Also, since the I-864 has to be notorized, is there a time frame in which it needs to be done in, say as in 30 days of submittion of documents?

Thanks for any help with this issue.
