US Citizenship General Discussion	Help! need advice on my Case. (n-400)	Thank you very much! I feel so much better now! With what you have told us, I feel you should be ok. Don't panic. Since you are filing under the 5 year rule, your tax returns are only important to the extent that you don't owe IRS anything. Apart from that, just be honest if any questions are asked about your previous marriage. You have more to show than I did when I filed my N400. I don't think you are raising any red flags here. US Citizenship General Discussion	Help! need advice on my Case. (n-400)	Thanks! But I know in one of the guide, to have my 5 yrs certified tax return if under 5 yrs LPR showing as a proof of good moral character that I am paying my tax. but all I'm worried is, I got my GC resident 2006 and she left me later that year.... Even divorce got finalized 2009, my tax return was filed single during the year 2007. I am just making sure this doesnt raise a red flag for the IO. I just want to be ready and know what to say.... Will I be concern?? If you're filing under 5 years residency I think tax documents are not that necessary. I know some people here who didn't send their tax transcripts when they applied for naturalization. I myself sent 3 years of tax transcripts although I am applying under 5 years rule. US Citizenship General Discussion	Help! need advice on my Case. (n-400)	Hi to all, I need some advice from anyone can help me, Thank you. I went to U.S (under tourist visa) April 2002. meet my US spouse 5 months later we got married January 2003. process my papers in NYC (where we live) I got my work permit 3 months later.... my green card took a long time to arrived... and in 2005 we moved to california .. still no Green card, I just keep renewing my work authorization... marriage is good in the beginning , until it starts to fall apart.... I got my GC january 2006 , with 10 years and no condition. my wife left me and went back to east coast with her family around OCtober 2006. on the year 2007 we start to file out tax return as single.... we talk here and there on the phone... I still keep her on my cell phone family plan (since she is struggling with finances)... she met a guy in there and got pregnant around 2008 (but around then we are offically separated)... she filed for divorce2009 Oct and it got finalized. her baby daddy left her and the daugher.. he is no where to be found..... and on my side, I met a US citizen Girlfriend with 13 yr old son around 2008 as well. we moved in together in the house I bought (wtih her son). and we have a beautiful daughter born on OCT 2011, and this year 2012 valentines day feb 14. we got married. MY Green card status = residents since 1/16/2006 - expires on 2016. no condition. divorces finalized = OCt 2009 me and exspouse are still friends. she still under my phone family plan hehehe.. (my current spuse knows about it, and is aware) (ex-spouse still in hardship and under government care with food and housing...) I am filing n-400 under 5 yrs based LPR = but my tax return shows I filed single from 2007-2011. will these be a problem on my n-400 process? Mine didn't show up online until I received citizenship and even then it only showed as at interview letter sent out. I called USCIS and they told me my case would never show up online as there was a glitch in the system, obviously not though. Wait a few days and try again or just do as I did and call USCIS pretty much every other day. Good Luck with your Naturalization process Thank you! wont worry a much anymore.. thanks!! It has happened to many. So don't worry. As long as you have the physical NOA in hand, you are safe. Just because your case status doesn't show online doesn't mean that there is a problem with your application. USCIS simply hasn't updated your info into the system. US Citizenship General Discussion	HELP!!NOA - unable to search NBC*xxxxxx on website	I got my I-797C notice of action with the application number NBC*XXXXXXXXX priority date aug 17. but I am unable to search the number on the website. Format = NBC*xxxxxxxxxx. message: Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283. Question: Is this the same number with receipt number? or do i have to wait with another mail with receipt number? or... it's just too soon? US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 August 2012 Filers	Had my citizenship interview today (applied under 5 yr resident) IO ask me about my previous marriage, her name, our address, when we got separated, when did we get divorce, looking at my tax statements, he even asked from year 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2006. I told him you only ask for past 3 years I provided past 5 years. I told him that way back IRS doesnt even had tax records or certified tax copy. and the IO just agreed. asking my past addresses, even where I was leaving 6-8 years ago. I told him everything and told him the reason why I never wrote there its because it was only asking 5 years back. (In my head wth?!?!?!) and I am currently married as of 2-2-14-12 and have a 1 yr old daughter, IO asked me how may times i got married, is my current wife a us citizen? (yes) is this baby hers or the ex? and question me why the tax transcript showing her name and my name even at tax year 2010-present. since we are divorced 2009. I told IO honestly, I have no Idea why, but it's maybe because we used to file together. and filing tax this year I will file it with my current wife. and he just nod his head. and ask me civics questions like, what is the us national anthem, what is the rule of law, what does 11 stripes in the flag represent , capital of CA , when do we vote for president, when do we register for selective service. after that He asked about a name change and yes I did change my name ommit my mom last name. making my name too long. and he grant me approval. and he said congratulations and I will wait for the letter for oath taking. so I asked him so I am approved for citizenship? he said basically yes we just gonna go through QA and then we will send you the schedule for oath taking. You will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address is this my Int. Ltr? when most likely will be my interview will be? US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 August 2012 Filers	Correct me if I am wrong guys. yes, you can apply 90 days before your GC turn 3 years. yes you can travel , but you don't want to miss any mail or appointments. how long you gonna be gone for? when you say you just got your Green card. what is the date on the resident since on your card? that's where you count your 3 yrs of marriage. not the date of marriage. Hi! I want to apply for US Citizenship and have 2 questions. We will be married for 3 years in september, 21st, I will be a green card holder for 3 years in january 21st. - When can I apply for citizenship?: after january 21st or 90 days before ( will be in October ) - Can I travel after I apply for citizenship? Lately people are reporting similar issues with NBC numbers. I have an NBC number but it shows up (filed 6/29). You can call USCIS if you like but if you got a letter you're in the process. Many people are also reporting that the online updates aren't current anyway. Online they're still in the queue for interview scheduling (for example) but some have received their letter, and/or had their interview, and/or oath and the online status still says they're waiting for an interview to be scheduled. Format = NBC*xxxxxxxxxx. message: Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. Question: Is this the same number with receipt number? or do i have to wait with another mail with receipt number? or... it's just too soon?
