US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	petitioner on hud housing, got a question....	hello everyone,,, i went all over vj forums trying to figure out where to post this and got lost,, heheh so im gonna post it here,,,, im petitioning my husband to come here on the k3 visa, my income is little so i have a co sponsor who income meets the requirement and also has over 150 thousand dollars in property,,, so im not worried in this,, but where my worry is, is the fact that me and my 2 kids are on foodstamps, and i get federal housing, i live in a regular house but the goverment pays part of my rent and im respoinsible for the copay, i have neverrrrrr been on cash asssistance,, i was workiing a good job but lost it so now im self employed and hunting for a job thats got more hours, and of course more pay,,, now my husband been working in egypt for over 4 years now, has a college degree, and we have our propertys for sale in cairo and alex, and we want to use this money to buy small home in usa and have money in the bank till he starts working,,,, what im worried about is what the consulate would say of my financial standing now.. would it be better for me and the kids to go live with my best friend till my husband gets here,, that way im on no federal houseing, im confused and not sure what to do about this, my husband does send me money everymonth to help, its not much considering egypts salary and the conversion table of egy pound to usds but he does his best, so what should i do,, also i saw on other post where pppl were making snide remarks about public aid, please dont do this to me, i been on it on and off for couple of years,, with me doing chemotherapy,, trying to work and raise kids, its been hard, thanks ,,aishah	aishahossam	Female	Egypt	2009-11-08 19:39:00

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	To attend interview or not	DakDawg, I hope you are not referring specifically to USEM, 'cause you know as well as I do, that in Manila, the visas fall like rain, and the Kano is not needed to there in person. Moral support vs Needed Presence to obtain the visa is an apple vs oranges comparison. Now consulates like Vietnam, China, India, Pakistan, Egypt, etc are another story. The Petitioner HAS to be in those places at time of the interview. Even just to get the lovely news that your case is going into AP for the next 2 years. umm excuse me but the petitioner doessss notttt have to be in egypt at the time of the interview, and yes alot are put in ap but not all for 2 years, good grief, i know ppl who do the whole process and get it done in about 8 months, its not too bad, others wait longer sure,,, but i know for a fact that the petioner does not have to be at usa embassy in cairo at the time of the interview, even tho im going to be there for my hubby anyways	aishahossam	Female	Egypt	2010-01-25 01:07:00

Middle East and North Africa	K visas fee is going to be 350$ instead of 131$ !!!!	i think that you were missing the point in my situation, first when i said i lost my fabulous job and went on welfare im talking about houseing welfare, second it was my husband who paid for all my travels. i work in my home doing pc repair. which now with us owning our home my job takes care of me and the kids good,but it still hits just below the requirement needed for sponsoring,i do not recieve cash assistance or food stamps, but my income does not meet the requirement either, and like what was mentioned, every case is different,im now a homeowner, so thats what i mean about getting off welfare cause im not in public houseing,i work at home till i can get another job with fbop,and my husband has money in the bank to support himself till he finds work orrr maybe we can invest it in a small buisness since i do computer repair and his work is management informations system, which is also in the line of computer work,i refuse to live in egypt due to my health and my childrens education,plus the culture would be to much for them,. they liked it when they visited there but they wanted to be home with thier family and thier friends,only thing im saying is by taking and saying absolutely no way anyone is comming to usa if they have a co sponsor is denying ppl who do have money and the potential of making a great life here a chance to do that,didnt mean to ruffle any tail feathers and if i did im truely sorry,	aishahossam	Female	Egypt	2009-12-28 04:31:00

Middle East and North Africa	Happy Hump Day (Wednesday)!!!	Well actually we wont be having to makeup any days. We have 13 days built into our schedule for snow days. So far this year we have only used 8 so unless we have more than 5 of the snow days remaining we wont have to make anything up. Whats going on with ur case these days?
