K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F mailed but we forgot to include photos

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it - I've never seen an RFE nor Denial because someone didn't send in vacation photos. good.gif

Wow, that makes me feel so much better, thank you! I'm thinking they should be able to figure out that we've met (considering the fact that we live together, not to mention our passport photos were taken at the same place and time and stamped with location/date stamps!) but still, I'm worrying. I feel a lot better now, though. Thanks again!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F mailed but we forgot to include photos
Hi there -- just looking for some advice and possible some reassurance in regards to the I-129F petition my fiance and I submitted. We followed the great guide on this website and I thought that we'd done everything required ... but I realised that we forgot to include one thing that it seems everyone else has: photos to support the fact that we've met in the last two years. I don't mean the passport style photo ... we included those, but we didn't include any photos of us together! My fiance and I currently live together (in Canada; he has dual citizenship) and we included plenty of information as far as passport stamps, boarding passes, itineraries, etc but no photos. I don't know why we didn't include photos - a completely silly oversight, I guess sad.gif I'm just wondering if there's any way I can submit photos after the petition has already been mailed, or do we just wait for the denial or the RFE? Any advice? Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, how many copies of the I-129F form do I need to send with the packages, my guess is 4, is this correct?

thanks

You only need to send in one copy of the I-129F form and 1 copy of the G-325A form ... if you look on the USCIS website and download the newest versions of each form, you'll see that the G-325A is now only one page.

Hope this helps! smile.gif

Please disregard my post; the G-325A form itself is only one page but you should be submitting 4 pages, as per USCIS instructions ... which presents a problem for my fiance and I as we only submitted one copy of the form. Man, I can't wait to get our RFE!

This process hasn't started out too well for us, lol tongue.gif And not being able to contact them from Canada = fail.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI think I have everything...
QUOTE (frenzyheart @ Sep 6 2009, 11:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Alright. I've had some pretty astonishing nightmares the last few nights, as I'm planning to send off my big ol' bundle of papers, pictures, and photocopies this Friday. I've always thought that a second or third (or in this case, an entire forum)'s opinion is best, so I come to you now to make sure I'm not forgetting anything. You all have been so helpful to everyone else, and of course I've read the guides, but you never know.

Anyhow, here it goes.

- Cover Letter, Signed & Dated (I know this isn't required, but I like organization...)
- I-129F, Signed & Dated
- Letter of Intent, Signed & Dated (Petitioner)
- Letter of Intent, Signed & Dated (Beneficiary)
- G-325A (x4), Signed & Dated (Petitioner)
- G-325A (x4), Signed & Dated (Beneficiary)
- Passport Photo, Full name on back (Petitioner)
- Passport Photo, Full name on back (Beneficiary)
- Supplemental for Question 18, Signed & Dated
- Proof of Citizenship - Birth Certificate Photocopy
- Proof of Citizenship - Passport Photocopy - Every. Single. Page. (the reason I'm sending this as well is because I no longer have the birth certificate -- this photocopy was a previous photocopy that I had made for my Canadian Student Visa application - because I made like 10 of them for some odd reason... and the passport copy also includes my Student Visa paper --AND the stamp-- which is still stapled inside of my passport)

Evidence was all stated as being included when I wrote the Supplemental for Question 18... and includes:
- Proof of Meeting/Relationship - Photos (x8, all labeled with names and locations, with dates ranging from 2006-Present)
- Proof of Meeting/Relationship - Canadian Student Visa approval letter (since I lived with him during that time)
- Proof of Meeting/Relationship - Acceptance letter from Canadian College (goes along with the approval letter)
- Proof of Meeting/Relationship - Letter of Support from his dad (since he's still living with his parents, they offered to support me during my schooling)
- Proof of Meeting/Relationship - Plane ticket stubs from his various flights (he drove down here mostly, though..) as well as the emailed itinerary from my first bus trip to see him back in 2006
- Proof of Meeting/Relationship - Engagement Ring receipt (despite the fact that it's starting to fade.. oy.)

I do believe that's everything. Not a whole lot to prove up a relationship (besides the pictures and the receipt) at this point, but I plan to send all of the pictures, as well as the cards we've given each other, and maybe a few written and notarized statements from family/friends, since we really don't have anything else. We tried getting past phone bills, but we couldn't, and neither one of us thought to save chat logs from MSN or whatever, so I'm hoping that they'll be okay with what we have. Guess I can't really worry about that right now... (although I will be.... whistling.gif )

Either way, I'm worried I forgot something, despite checking a million times myself, and that's why I've come to you all. (maybe if only for re-assurance....I don't know.. lol)

Thank you so much for taking time to read this! kicking.gif

It sounds great -- you're submitting a lot of proof of meeting and you've made sure to include 4 pages of the G-325A form instead of the one (like my fiance and I, doy!) ... it sounds great!

Here's to a speedy approval smile.gif

It's not strictly necessary to be a U.S. resident at the time of filing, though having a U.S. mailing address does speed things up as you correctly state.

You must reside in the U.S.—or at least be in the process of relocating, with a U.S. address—at the time of the interview. The affidavit of support must be from a U.S. citizen residing in the U.S., as the affidavit is intended to demonstrate sufficient resources to support the intending immigrant in the United States.

Thanks for the answers! It's not too big of a deal that the correspondence will be going to my fiance's parents, they have no problem mailing stuff up to us but I was just curious if this is what we can be expecting for the rest of the process. Now we know smile.gif

Will we be requiring a co-sponsor anyway (my fiance's father) as my fiance is still in college. He will be going back to college in the US in April (which should be around the time we get our interview), so hopefully that will be acceptable.

Blah, I meant "We will be requiring a co-sponsor anyway". For whatever reason it won't let me edit that post!

Hi everyone -- just wondering if it's normal that USCIS would send the NOA1 to the address on the cheque? The cheque we sent in was one of my fiance's parents' cheques (we figured it would be easier than getting a money order) and my fiance just heard from them that they received the NOA1 hard copy in the mail today. Would this have anything to do with the fact that my fiance (USC) is currently residing in Canada? His address on the petition was a Canadian address. Should we expect all future correspondence from USCIS to go to my fiance's parents' house? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

Sooo I'm guessing by the lack of replies this is NOT normal! No one has heard of this before?

The current G-325A form is NOT two-page document. It has only one page that needs to be filled out. Second page is instructions unless I see it wrong. It looks like I need to submit one page for me and one for my fiancé unless I misunderstood instructions for I-129F.

I'm pretty sure he was including the instructions as page one of the "two page document". One page is the instructions, the other page is the form you need to complete.

I can't tell you whether or not you have enough evidence, however I can tell you that I was in a very similar situation -- I only had boarding passes for some legs of my trips to the US, not all of them. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresURGENT CHEST XRAY ISSUE

Did you read through that and make sure you understood why I posted it before you ASSUMED I was being rude or mean? <---- That face is a blink. As in a raised eyebrow, as in WHY would you need it...I haven't seen it. Do we need it? Panic because I am about in that stage myself and trying to figure out why THIS is suddenly coming up.

So before you make any assumptions, perhaps you should ASK or QUESTION if someone is really being rude before you ASSUME you know what their intentions are...I do believe that post also went in to how people misinterpret written word all the time on the internet...

You can trust me on this. When I am being rude, you'll KNOW without a doubt I am being rude. If I was being intentionally rude it would have said "Why in the F*&^ do you think you need a chest x-ray to enter the country?"

:ot:

When I had my interview at the Vancouver consulate I was told I would need my x-ray for my POE. I would assume that the OP was told something similar or read something on the board that gave her that impression.

To the OP, you're fine without it :) I had mine with me in the car when I POE'd and the CO didn't ask for it at all.

Good luck with your POE!

My husband became a citizen through naturalization as well and when we submitted the I-129F we made sure to include his former alien number. I can't see why they would ask for it if they didn't need it. My husband's alien number was actually on our NOA2 which I thought was interesting :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNow this is upsetting.

Crossing the border should not be considered a right, by anyone.
As it's been said MANY times in this forum and others, CBP Officers have discretion as to whether or not you are allowed entry of the US.

This about sums it up -- there are no guarantees in the US immigration process, haven't you learned that yet? ;) I personally crossed once while my visa was pending and once after my visa was granted and made it through with no problems. However, I made sure to bring more than enough proof I would be returning to Canada and I was prepared in case I was been turned away. If you do the same, you should have no problems ... but as I said, there are no guarantees.

hi to all :)

my fiancé and i are starting to fill out our forms and hopefully send the application by next week. i am wondering if i can use the sample for letter of intent here in VJ "as is" or do i need to add more why i want to marry him? i am not sure if it should be formal or not.

also i am not sure which service center i need to address my LOI. my fiancé lives in Utah and i checked USCIS, entered his zip code in the office locator and it said the service center should be in Nebraska. however, when i check the processing times it doesn't show any information about I-129F/K1 Application on the Nebraska Service Center processing time table. should it be addressed to California then?

and lastly i have a weird question about item #16 (if your fiancé's native alphabet uses other than roman letters) on form I-129F...i am filipina but filing our application here in Japan. should i use the Japanese kanji for my address as well?

thanks in advance. i just wanna make sure we are doing everything correctly to avoid delays.

It is confusing though as everyone talks about the California Service Center or the Vermont Service Center and that Texas no longer processes I-129F's but on the processing times page it shows graphs for the TSC processing !-129F's from 135 days ago...not bad for a center that doesn't process them.

here are directions for I=129F

read thru it all.. BUT if you must know ..

Page 5 has the address of where to send it..
in Dallas

I nam not missing the address, I say right in the message it says to send it to Texas. I am paranoid about what I missed in all the forms, but I know I saw the address. I am just quadruple checking as I had triple checked the address, and everyone here talks about California or Vermont. So I wanted to quadruple check.

Got notice today that it has arrived in Texas, next step check cashed then NOA 1

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSubmit I-129f to where?

A number of years ago, the Texas Service Center processed I-129F petitions. Then USCIS moved the processing locations for these petitions to the Vermont and California Service Centers. Still later, USCIS started centralizing filing locations at Lockbox facilities.

Bottom line: go with what's on the USCIS website. The I-129F is filed at the Dallas lockbox.

Once USCIS approves the petition, they send it to the National Visa Center (NVC) for some additional checks and eventual forwarding to the embassy. 1-2 weeks after you receive the NOA2 (Notice of Approval) from USCIS, you can start calling NVC and seeing whether your petition has arrived there yet. When they have you on the phone, they will ask for email addresses for you (petitioner) and your fiancee (beneficiary).

Thank You so much

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSubmit I-129f to where?
I have been looking through the forums and can't find the answer to these two questions, I am sure they are in here somewhere so be nice to me when informing me of where.

We are just getting started in the K-1 journey, I have everything ready to go and am just waiting for my fiances G-325a and letter to arrive before sending it all off. There has been a lot of very helpful information on here I am hoping it will help us through this process fairly smoothly.

However.....

The goverment website says I should send my packet to a Dallas Address, but everywhere I look on here I see people saying that the Texas office is no longer doing this and it is only the Vermont or California offices.

Secondly I was looking at address change information as it appears my fiance will have to move before the application reaches the embassy in Colombia, everything I read said don't worry too much about it as it will be sent to her via e-mail. But nowhere on the application did it ask for her email, only mine. should I just wait until it arrives at embassy then call with new address if any?

Thank you for any help.

Ron

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease take a second look at my petition package!

It is my understanding that the packet needs one passport photo each - one for the petitioner and one for the beneficiary. This site instructed me to write names on the back of the photos, put each in a plastic bag, and staple to a plain white sheet of typing paper...hope that is right.

Yes it is one for each with the original I-129F petition, and it sounds like you did it correctly. You will need more for the medical and embassy interview, I know I will need 6 more of the beneficiary for Colombia but it may vary at different embassies.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease take a second look at my petition package!

For example, how would a foreign fiancee already have an alien number? Also, should her address and job info be filled out in English or in Spanish? I wish my camera was here so I could send in a foto of us filling out all these stupid forms.

If your fiance does not have an alien number just put N/A the only reason she would have one is if she had been in the US before on a work visa or something alot of people meet their fiances that way but alot also meet on line so they have no number.

Her address should be her address in her home country, in other words write it like they would write it there. The job and other things like that such as her letter of intemt should be in english, if it needs to be translated you need a letter from the translator saying that they are competent to translate into english, if you are bi-lingual this can be you. You don't need a copy of a license or anything.

The same thing happened to me! The first delivery notice was posted at 10pm on Monday (a Federal holiday), which made me wonder a little: did they really think anyone would take delivery of a package then? But then the next day it showed up as delivered. Now I'm just waiting for them to let me know that they realize they have it...

That's funny, I fedexed mine and they said "do you want it to arrive on monday?" Presidents Day so I told them later would be fine as I really doubt anyone would have been there anyway.
