M@C, everyone here didn't expect this super long wait at all. blink.gif Go out and meet your friends, have coffee!

Nag e-mail na rin kami, lahat nga ng diskarte na binasa ko dito sa thread na to, ginaya na namin.

Rei, off topic lang, speaking of yaya... I have a 3 year old son. I have a potential job na gusto ko pasukan kasi in line yun sa ginagawa ko dito. The problem is I need to work for 60 hours. So ang solution lang na nakikita ko is daycare. Ok lang ba mag stay son ko dun for 8 hours? I mean, di naman kaya too much for him yun?

Sis.. I think it's a good news na sis . konting wait na lang. Send fax as asked para matapos na. If ur congressman can help like what nickoftime did... case maybe expedited. I talked to Grace this morning pero iba talaga ung treat nila sa mga applicant.. medyo may pagka harsh ng konti.

Ay sis! Nadala na ako tumawag dun. Di sila nice sa atin. Ano sabi sa yo ni Grace?

RIA how about going to the embassy personally like what minang does? since your case is a little bit more special? smile.gif

Naku! Ginawa ko na yun! YUng sinasabi ni minang na mestiza chubby lady, kilala na ako nun! Kaming dalawa pa ng fiancee ko nagpupunta sa USEM. The usual s*** ang sinasabi..."Go home and wait."

Si Stephen, twice a week kung tumawag. Paiba iba ang news. Minsan good news pero most of the time ang sinasabi, "Call back next week". Kakatawa nga si Stephen pag ginagaya si Grace and Lorraine. He said mas mabait daw si Lorraine. He asked whats holding my case and she said backlogs. He even asked if my two annulments are still the problem, sabi ni Lorraine, resolved na daw. So she just asked Stephen to send a notarized fax letter to follow up.

What can you say guys?

Jamesnrei, Tama ka jan. Super lupit. Everytime my fiance would call, yun yung reason na sinasabi nila. It was only thru Jose Rizal's advice that I called Delbros and looked for Aiko. I was shocked too and syempre super scared na kasi nakaka paranoid na kung bakit Grace would always say that DV is not there yet when all this time, andun na pala since Sept 19. So my fiance called USEM and was able to get hold of Loraine after I told him about my DV but he forgot to confront her about the DV kasi sabi ni Loraine kasi she said my case was touched by the consul yesterday.

Ria - It's a good news sis. Maybe u will have your visa this week or next week. You were supposed to have your visa na dapat kasi super tagal na antay mo. It's on your way na sis smile.gif

Hey, Guys. Im back, been at NSO already and thanks to ( Him ) I have a chance to get my Marriage Index. Well, NSO was closed 12 noon and i arrived there at 1:30 but blessings in disguise lots of people outside in NSO complaining the people work there why they give us a 31 sched. at 2-3 pm. So, in short they allowed them to go inside including Me of course. They ask my receipt before i go inside go to Window 24 for my Marriage Index. I already guess that USEM also has a half day but i still went there to check personally and I am right. According to the Guard I talk he told me at 12 noon the embassy allowed to half day their employee, so there is no one will gonna receive my Marriage Index i gonna submit. But i have a chance to ask him if Nov. 4 will usem holiday but as what he said only Nov.14 or 17 i forgot and Nov. 27 are USEM Holiday.

So to all my Sis and Bro, i felt there will be a good news to us this coming few weeks and hope Im the one of them. Happy Weekend All.

My fiancee called the embassy today and he spoke to Grace. No developmet on our case...its still pending. DV is not there yet. Two weeks ago, when my fiancee called, we were given the date of OCTOBER 9th for any news or development. And now they told us that it might take.... UP TO TWO MONTHS from now on. Aren't we just so lucky that its this time wherein there are new sets of consuls. Their real problem now is the backlogs they have....6,000 applicants waiting for their papers to be resolved....and only few agents to look at them. Looks like it won't be a merry Christmas for me and my fiancee...

I was so depressed this morning after hearing this update BUT I got over it as of this time. Pretty fast huh? I think I only have two choices right now...to be negative or positive about it. And I chose to be the latter. From now on, I will focus on the things I should do before taking the plunge... I will focus on spending as much time with my family and friends here, saving money and taking care of the things that will help my marriage and my life in the US easier. Remember, its recession in the US and I should be thankful that Im doing great here in Philippines. When I get there, I will lose some privileges that I enjoy here....credit cards, vacation trips, maids, drivers, secretary etc etc.... My fiancee is with me in this one...he will focus on his work, preparing the apartment and on being a better man for me. Gotta be really busy so there will be no time to get depressed.

We really can't do anything right now but to wait and also make follow ups. Guys, I know its hard but its also only us who can help ourselves. Let's be strong about this. Did you all notice that Philippine forum is so quiet? Like almost all posts are all about feeling bad because of waiting for visa. Unlike before, all you see is "VISA IN HAND". This too shall pass... Hi! I hope anyone who's marriage is annulled will make a reply. I just want to ask if you submitted a CENOMAR. I called up NSO and ask for CENOMAR and they said the my marriage will still be indicated with no annotation that it was annulled. They said that what I need to do is submit the Marriage Certificate of the previous marriage together with the annulment decree. Are they right?

Hoping for your replies. Thank you.

Im sorry to hear that story but my CFO seminar was so smooth, I highly recommend St. Mary's in Quezon City. I got there at 8:00am, startedat 8:30 and was out by 11:30am. When I got home, my visa was already delivered. So I went back to St. Mary's that same day at 2:30pm and had the sticker in my passport by 3pm. Im lucky that my house is near St. Mary's. By the way, they didnt ask for pictures of me and my fiancee. I was so eager to tell our love story but the nice old lady didnt ask a lot of questions. Probably because I told her I lived in the US before.

Ate Cora, What about your 2nd annulment? How did you go about it and how long did it take?

My second annulment was called "Petition for Re-Affirmation of Declaration of Nullity of Marriage" since I cannot file another annulment for the same person on the ground of Res Judicata (or a prior declaration of nullity). I hired the same lawyer who did my first case. Acceptance fee for the second case was a discounted P25,000 plus appearance fee per court hearing. I can't remember now if I paid P3,000 or P5,000 per appearance for the second case.

Here's a timeline for my second court case:

3-02-06 - Filed petition
6-06-06 - Decision rendered
6-23-06 - Finality issued
6-28-06 - Registration
8-??-06 - Annotated MC issued

The court procedure took a little over 3 months. The judge was very mabait (kind) to me and he gave me the earliest court dates that his calendar could accommodate. And I did not pay him a single cent for "padulas". Bait ano?

Yep! Bait nga. The judge who took my case was known to be strict. She is known not to grant the annulment because she is really pro family so there's no way you can pay padulas. I was just shocked that she made her decision after a month. So from petition to decision, it took 4 months and 1 month for finality. She probably took pity on me because of all the evidences we presented. My lawyer even told me that its the most shocking annulment case she ever handled.

well, this post is for my cousin's concern who's planning to annul her husband who's been very irresponsible to them. so, anybody here who filed an annulment case? how did you do it? how's the process? how much did it cost and how long did it take?

For step-by-step procedure, check out this link: http://www.gtalawphi...family_law3.htm

I filed for annulment in December 2000 and paid the following fees:

P100,000 - lawyer's acceptance fee
P 3,000 - lawyer's appearance fee per hearing
P 25,000 - psychologist's fee
P ??? - miscellaneous fees (stenographer, photocopying costs, etc.)

Lawyers' fees vary so your cousin needs to scout around. Before hiring, she must check on the success rate of the lawyer. Better to hire someone magaling kahit expensive kesa naman palpak (excuse my term) na mura.

Annulment takes anywhere from 6 months to 2 years under normal situations or if the other party is not opposing. In my case, it took me 2 years 3 months from start to finish but then I was not really following it up as I was not in a hurry (I was not in a relationship at that time).

Hope this helps.

PW

Open an account in BPI or BDO and send the atm visa card in the US. That person can withdraw money thru atm up to $400 a day for a service charge of $2 per withdrawal. That's how my parents sent me money when I was in the US for months.

Maraming salamat sa inyo. Should it be a dollar account? And in my name or anybody in my family will do?

My BDO account was in peso. The atm card should have the visa logo. Then you can withdraw thru any atm machines na may VISA logo din pero syempre, dollar lalabas sa atm sa US.

My BPI account is in dollar pero pwede din peso. Basta the atm card should be international.
