K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPacket Questions
I don't know if this a silly question or not, but I'm asking it because I don't know the answer! So if you know, share blush.gif I keep going over and over numerous forums here, and I see the packet 3 and 4 are part of the process after the NOA2 is recieved. I wasn't aware when I started this process that there are such things; in fact, this forum is where I found out about it. OK Here are my questions...

1.) Does the beneficiary recieve the packets?
Yes
2.) IF so, can he send it to the petitioner to fill out?
Yes but why can the beneficiary not fill it out? The Beneficiary needs to sign the papers.
3.) What does the packet 3 and 4 have to fill out or gather?
Packet 3, are the main papers that the beneficiary needs to fill out. Packet 4 is the interview date
4.) Are they in English?
Depends on the embassy, my fiance received hers in english and in Hungarian.
5.) Does the petitioner have anything to do with filling/signing the packets?
No

I'm asking because I'm the paperwork fanatic in our relationshipt whistling.gif In fact, when he mailed me the signed G325 A forms, i had to type them up myself and send them back to him to sign because he filled them out incorrectly. SOO I want to make sure that I can fill them out, if necessary. I'm sorry if this question is rather sillY! But I know everyone here is so nice and will answer my questions no matter what!!!

**I filed through CSC starting March 18, i should expect (aprx) my NOA2 around middle-late July? ** It looks like they're taking about 4 months. I'm not exactly sure why the USCIS web page says Nov 17, 2007. Does that mean they are COMPLETELY complete? What I mean by that is the beneficiary is ALREADY in the US. I hope that my baby will be here in September. I'm starting to get very emotionally crazy rofl.gif Just kidding. I know I have to be patient. I just miss him a lot sad.gif
Is there anything else that I can do to prepare for the rest?
OHH I have another question!!!

When I callled the USCIS last week, she told me if they were to need more information from us, they would have asked about it within 10-15 business days from when i sent it? Is she correct? Or did she just mislead me? Maybe she was talking about something else?
Best thing to do is not bother them and just wait for the NOA 2. It will come, just takes time.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR BEING SO AWESOME!!!! rose.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestotal fees?
We have spent close to 1000 just for the K1 Visa. That is considering the cost of the petition, making copies, gas used to get things done, materials used, shipping costs, cost for medical and things from the packet 3, printing off pictures, passport photos, more copies, just everything. It adds up. That isn't even including the trips we made and airfare costs.

2. Bring lots of documental proof
3. Make sure papers are perfect.
4. Bring explanations for the false documents.
5. Maybe hire a lawyer.

No, K1 Visa should not be affected at all. They might question you about your stays here in America and all you have to do is be honest with them.

QUOTE (chris-lei @ Jun 29 2008, 09:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
If I were in your situation that you have to satisfy her family, I'd take option 3. Option 2 is risky. There have been posts/threads here that visas were denied beacuse the couple had non-legal religious ceremony. It s clearly stated that the benificiary should be single when she reaches the US soil should she go for the K1 route. She might be denied at POE if she's already married and under K1.

If you hold some sort of ceremony I wouldn't show the USCIS pictures of that otherwise they might assume there was a marriage.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVery Overwhelmed
If you feel like it is too hard to complete the paperwork required, then hire someone to do it for you.

However, I would recommend that you do it yourself. It will just require patience and determination. My petition took about a two months to get perfected and put together neatly so there wouldn't be any problems and so far it has worked out and I have saved a lot of money.

So the decision is really based on how determined you are. The paperwork is really doable, especially when you can rely on Visa journey as a backbone to get started.

Edit Note: I just read your more recent post. Well, that is tough, honestly I don't think an attorney would help a lot, but with a special case it might. Tough call. If it was me I would still do the paperwork on my own. An attorney will just put the papers on the shelf and pocket the money not putting your petition in any sort of importance. Where as if you do it then you know for sure that if you put your heart and soul into it then it really will go through.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCultural misunderstanding or fraud?
QUOTE (Kathryn41 @ Jan 21 2008, 09:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I just want to add that instead of suspecting the possibility of 'fraud' right off the bat, it is also possible that she is having second thoughts and doubts about the relationship herself and doesn't know how to address it with you. She too may be having concerns about if she really wants to proceed or not. Distance can do that to people. If you can afford it, you may want to take a visit back and see each other face to face before you decide to do something so drastic as to pull your petition. You will have a better idea then if she is getting cold feet, if you are getting cold feet or if indeed there is more to it than that. Good luck.

Exactly, the distance has put a lot of strain on my relationship with my future spouse but from what we have experienced so far there has been nothing but strengthening and we are stronger now than we ever have been before.

We are now to the point that we can take any curve ball. If for some reason the K1 visa doesn't get accepted for us, we are willing to do whatever it takes to make things happen, which for me would mean moving to Hungary for 6 months.

What I am saying, distance + strain = true love

Good luck and hang in there.

I have said this before, and I will say it again. Ignoring posts which bother you is as easy as not clicking... There is a way to point folks to the guides that does not need to sound condescending.

A bit of patience for folks going through what likely will be the longest, possibly most stressful process of their lives can go a long way toward making VJ a great resource for all, newbies, veterans, the clueless and the perfect...

I don't want to ignore posts from newbies who haven't bothered to read the guides or otherwise educate themselves, even though seeing them bothers me. The best way to help these people is to encourage them to read the guides and learn the process. If all they do is ask questions, they are likely to encounter a lot of disappointment later because failing to learn the process, mean you fail to ask or otherwise get answers to critical questions.

Still no reason to bump this thread.

Exactly.

Not to mention the fact that a lot of the answers these people are getting are also being given by newer members who are well intentioned, but answering incorrectly because they haven't read much either.

Nobody here is perfect. But there are those of us who have stuck around and try to help. I believe it is more ill-conceived for us to be told 'don't read it if it bothers you' than for us to firmly remind readers of the resources already available to them.

After all Visa Journey has done for me I feel a little obligated to help out and stick around. Nothing wrong with sharing your knowledge and experience to help those entering the process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresabout PACKET 3
I just finished my medical exam today and from what I've noticed. The guard either asks the applicants for 2 copies of their appointment letter (i scheduled my interview online) OR their NOA2 and NVC letter.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresabout PACKET 3
My letter has my name and MNL case number written at the left lower portion of the paper. It is almost the same with the packet online but the one online is more detailed with all the requirements. For the medical exam, you can do it with your case number and your NOA2. A lot of applicants didn't wait for that letter to arrive.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview In 2 Days - Need All Your Advice Please

Paul Kay,

Thanks for your response. As per the Psych Eval, definitely not related to drugs or other substance. That would be tragic. Good thing I managed to just live life the best way I can. Thank you also for sharing your knowledge anout the Window 11. I came across information about it in one of the threads here in VJ and it kind of made me nervous. I'm still restless with all the anticipation and worries. I really hope I get my approval because we're in love :) Best of luck to you guys as well.

I was a nervous wreck too but I felt like all my nervousness and anxiety that I brought upon myself by reading other threads online were useless because the interview was a breeze. The hardest part was the medical exam, which wasn't even that hard. You can do it!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInterview In 2 Days - Need All Your Advice Please

Depends on the reason why you had your Psych Evaluation. If it's regarding a previous marriage, depression and other emotional problems, well you know, it happens.

If it's because of Drug related problems, depending on the severity, I am not sure. You said no testing was made so I guess you're good to go!

In the New building of the US Embassy in Manila, Window 11 if I'm not mistaken, is located in the left side where they do the Non Immigrant Applicant Interviews wherein as we all know, a lot of Tourist Visas are getting rejected everyday. I don't think you are going to pass by that window.
