For the question regarding schools, which should be question 23, write the name of the school(the name by itself should say weather it's a university, college or high school) , the years you attended( from-to), the course you studied (science, arts, literature, etc) and your degree (in case of high school, you end up with a high school diploma, so under "degree or diploma" you should just write High school) If for example you went to college but never finished it, write the information about your college and then under "degree or diploma" write "none". Apparently they had sent it before but it was sent back, damned post office XD Now onto getting everything ready before the big day. It will take me a while though. Everything is extremely expensive and time consuming. My doctor's appointment is no where near where I live and the fees are over the roof >;/ Plus I have to have a few documents translated and certified and I have no idea how I will get that done... When it arrived at the embassy and when the embassy will send send out package 3. I'm not sure about Portugal because I didn't find an embassy link here on VJ. You can verify the address with a visa specialist when you call DOS. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	k1 visa package?	Do you have a receipt number? (eac/wac) if so, try calling the NVC & asking them if they have received it. They should be able to tell you if they have forwarded it to the embassy. Also, go to the embassy website & start gathering the next set of documents/police certificate etc. These take time and if you have them started at least when you do get your letter you will be ready to mail the info. Keep calling. It's frustrating but you need to figure out your case status. I think the nvc is who will be able to tell you & I have had no trouble getting info from them & I am the beneficiary! Let us know the result of phonecall! Thank you once again The case has been forward to the US embassy here where I live. I tried calling to find out about the status of our application but I could not get through to an official, only got pre-recorded messages telling me that, to find out the status of my application, I should e-mail them at a specific email address they provide in the recording with my case number. I emailed them and am now waiting for a reply. Hoping it comes soon! Oh i almost forgot. I am already gathering everything I need for the interview. thankfully there's plenty of places online out there where I was able to find out everything I will need! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	k1 visa package?	After you receive your NOA2 in the form of a letter, USCIS send it to the National Visa Center (NVC) who then forward it to the Embassy in your country. The next thing to happen is that you will receive a letter in the mail from the Embassy detailing the next steps to take. Between receiving your NOA2 and your letter from the Embassy (often known as packet 3) the wait time is about 3 weeks. You can call the NVC to see if they have received your application and get a case number. Having a case number makes phone calls with the embassy much easier. It has been roughly 5 weeks since my fiancé in the US received the NOA2, and I start to worry the letter was lost in the mail as it has been known to happen on previous occasions with important documents. I suppose the next step would be for me to contact the embassy then, but I heard they don't give out much information, if any, especially if it's not the petitioner calling. I apologize in advance is this seems like a stupid question or if it has been answered before, but i honestly couldn't figure out how to navigate these forums and do a keyword search I'm probably worrying about nothing here...but here goes: We filled for our petition a couple months ago and have already received NOA2, stating our petition was approved and will be forwarded to the embassy where I live. Also it said I would be contacted by the embassy and that I would receive a packet with instructions on how to proceed. It has been quite a while and i still haven't received anything. My question is, what should i be expecting? A phone call? Or a package sent by mail? And how long should that take? How long is too long? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	I-134, co-sponsors and income requirements!	First I'd like to explain my situation, and then i'll move on to the questions I had my interview today, and even though I had the I-134 filled out, we forgot to include supporting evidence of the income described in the form, so now the case is pending until we fax it in. The laddie who conducted the interview said that, for our case, for his income to be enough to support me, he'd have to make over 18000 dollars a year, but he makes roughly 17000. We did not know this, we thought that his income would have to be over 14000, in which case his would be more than enough. She mentioned getting a co-sponsor would help, which i think we'll do. The only person we have to be a co-sponsor is my fiance's father. He makes well above what's required, roughly 40000 dollars a year, but he's 65 years old and retired, so he's receiving retirement income. So onto my doubts: First, I've seen different poverty guidelines for visas and id like to be redirected to the correct value for our K-1 visa (for 2 people, 48 Contiguous States and D.C.) Second, will the fact that my soon to be father-in-law is getting retirement money make him unfit to be a co-sponsor? This question isn't for me its for my girlfrend on manila who is preparing her papers for interviw. 1.she figured out that her fiance's income and money to his bank accnt isn't enough to reach the minimum on required base on affidavit of sopport,they dony hire visa service nor a lawyer her question is is usembassy accept a co sponsor????during ther interview.he need atleast 12,000 to reach the required income.her fiance was thinking to barrow some money to his friend and dep.it to his bank accnt.will this work?he is. I just had my interview today and was told i was missing my fiance's tax return for the previous year or any other document that proves he's capable of supporting me once i move to the us, all i had was the filled I-134. The ladie who conducted the interview was nice enough to advise me (after she looked at his income) to find a co-sponsor just to be sure, since my fiance doesnt meet the requirements of income, and that's a good way to get your visa denied. Should I use first name, middle name and last name? or it is ok as is? Should be fine as long as you used the whole name in the official forms. I did the same and got through. It has the instructions and even my interview date. I assume they won't send me a hard copy anymore. Canada	After Package 3 is sent ? What should i do next ?	Maribel&Kyle:   We sent our Packet 3 on August 28th, received August 29th in Montreal. I last spoke to the DOS yesterday (September 20) and they still haven't logged our packet either. I have spoken to that call centre probably 10 times and on at least half of those occasions I have been treated very poorly by the agents who seem to resent having to answer the phone and want to get you off the line as quickly as possible. We've been told "not logged" means not received and we should re-send the packet; "not logged" means received but being processed; and one agent told me she didn't know the answer to any of my questions and I should just call back a different time. Incredibly frustrating!!!!!!!   But, CEAC says our file is READY and we should call to book an interview. I called the DOS to confirm if this was true and they told me to ignore the CEAC because it always has mistakes!?! I don't know how this is possible. We called and booked an interview for December 3rd. So far they haven't cancelled it on us, but I keep checking because I'm paranoid that we weren't actually supposed to book. We sent an inquiry about our actual status on the Public Inquiry Form for Montreal, but of course won't hear anything for at least 2 weeks...   We have been going through this process since February 4th - our Packet 3 was sent to use in June but we never received it and didn't know we could just download the forms until the end of August.   Does anyone have any experience with the CEAC? If it says READY should I believe it? Canada	Some important details have changed since we submitted Packet 3 forms - What do we do?	Hi!   We submitted our Packet 3 forms on August 29th. Yesterday (September 25) we finally received Packet 4 and our interview is scheduled for December 3rd. We're worried now though because since we filled out the forms, some of the details have changed. The address where we intend to live when we move has changed; same state, but different city. Also, my fiance was living with  me in Canada at the time, but now he has officially moved to the States and changed his address to the house where we intend to live. Does this matter? Is there something that I need to do to rectify this before the interview? I've read so much about how slow Montreal is and how frustrating they can be to deal with. I guess we just have to be patient, as hard as that is! I talked to another agent at the DOS today who said we're not in AP and that the first agent was wrong. We have received so much conflicting information from the DOS and the CEAC website, its hard to know what to believe. Keep me updated on your Packet 3. I'll post again if we get any more info. Canada	Montreal Packet 3 - September 2013 - Still Waiting	Hi,   I've just started using Visa Journey and I haven't seen any recent postings about this so I'm hoping I've put this in the right place...   Our Packet 3 was allegedly sent to us by the Montreal Consulate on June 21 but we never received it. Reading older posts on VJ makes me think this is a common occurence. We finally got an email on August 27th telling us to download the checklist.   We sent the packet August 28th via Loomis. They say it was delivered August 29th. Our Packet 3 still hasn't been logged to date (September 24, 2013). Last Wednesday the CEAC status check told us our case was ready and we should book our interview. The DOS call centre says Packet 3 has not been logged. This morning, the agent there told me our case had been put in AP? I questioned that but she didn't seem interested in explaining anything to me.   I thought AP happened during the interview stage not at Packet 3????   I'm wondering if anyone else with a recent timeline is still waiting for Packet 3 to be logged and/or if theirs took this long.   Also, has anyone heard of AP happening between Packet 3 and 4?   I have emailed Montreal and used the online inquiry form, but of course we'll be waiting a month for a response.   Any advice would be really greatly appreciated!!!!   Thanks!	lost_in_the_mail	Female	Canada	2013-09-24 12:48:00

Ours is scheduled for December 3rd at 8am. Does everyone always show up for 7 regardless of their interview time? I thought I had read that you couldn't be there any sooner than 20 minutes before your scheduled time??? Canada	2 weeks since Visa approved, still no visa! Anyone else a similar experience?	Has anyone ever successfully contacted the Montreal consulate?  From what I've gathered they only take immigrant visa inquiries by email. Has anyone gotten any answers through this? Mostly regarding "administrative processing"   I have emailed Montreal a couple of times with K1 questions; the first time was on July 31st and we didn't get a response until August 27th. The second time was September 19th with a response on October 1. They take FOREVER to answer questions, but at the very least they warn you that its going to take at least 28 days for an email. We are SO confused.
