PhilippinesJust called USEM...WHAT IS "QUALIFICATION"?!!!!
Maybe there are bulk of cases really coming in. Have you received your letter yet from USEM? Two weeks is just 14 days away =) Just a little patience bro! =) Goodluck on your journey

PhilippinesQuestion on Income/Affidavit of Support
Seems that we have the same timeline. Got our NOA1 last July 15, and we are also preparing ahead of time. I think a bank certificate or a letter from your bank will do. Your medical license (an ID or whatever certificate) is an option also...it might help =)

Goodluck! =)
paris2011FemalePhilippines2009-08-23 21:05:00
PhilippinesQuestion about printing emails for interview...
I would suggest to archive or put all your email exhanges in 1 subfolder, then print screen and paste it on a word file. In that way, the CO or the pre-screener will see how many emails exchanges you have in a month. Then you can print some actual email (i mean the content of the email).

This is just an option for you =) I'm thinking of doing this. Right now, im patiently waiting for my NOA2...heheh.
paris2011FemalePhilippines2009-08-25 22:37:00

PhilippinesHelp please... Do we need FORM I-134 notarized?
Is it okay to get the I-134 notarized even if its not required?? I just thought that its better to be over prepared than underprepared. What do you think??
paris2011FemalePhilippines2009-09-01 03:57:00
PhilippinesQuestion on I-134
He only wrote JUAN MIGUEL CRUZ REYES on his G-325 and I-129f. Nothing else, hence im worried. What do you think? Would the CO or the pre-screener will be particular on this? I want to know if we need to do something...

Thanks so much for the help! =)

What did you write on his I-129F and G-325A?

USCIS will check what is on the form versus what appears on his documentation. Did you write his full name on the forms (JUAN MIGUEL CRUZ REYES)? Or without his mother's maiden name (just JUAN MIGUEL REYES)?

QUOTE (paris2011 @ Sep 4 2009, 08:50 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
His filipino name is (just an example) JUAN MIGUEL CRUZ REYES, whereas, CRUZ is his mom's maiden name. This name appears on his passport and birth certificate. On his 1040's, his name became JUAN M REYES, his second name MIGUEL became his middle initial/name. But on his pay stubs and other docs, he uses his complete name. Would this be a problem during the interview? What actions can i do now? Should i ask my fiance for a letter or something from the lawyer or from the tax office? Thanks so much for the reply. Really appreciate it =)

Hi paris2011.

It depends. On his G-325A, did you list all the possible combinations of his name as they appear on his official documents?

QUOTE (paris2011 @ Sep 1 2009, 05:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi everyone, i have a question on I-134. My fiance and I are preparing the docs this early. My fiance is Pinoy and has a second name (a filipino thing) and I just found out on his 1040 and W2 that his second name became his middle name...and his real middle name (his moms maiden name) was omitted In short, his name on these forms were different from his passports and other records. Would this be a problem? Is there anyone here had the same dilemma? thanks in advance for the reply =)

No =( he didn't tell me. I hope this will not be much of a problem. Are they really particular on the 1040s and W2s? I hope not.

I got confused. Did you say, you sent your original docs to NVC and they accepted it? Is it a new procedure? So you mean, ur wife will not bring her NBI clearance, birth certicate, ITR and W2 to the interview? When did you sent those?

hey paris
i wish i can help u with K1
i only know something about CR1
i follow the guide exactly and did what it says 100%
i am so happy that they have all the info in guide in VJ

you read it right girl, but dont be confused coz nvc requires such of docs only from the CR1 applicants.

Oh ok...I'm a K1 applicant, so no need for me to send those docs to NVC right? Will bring the required docs during my interview then. I'm a newbie =), hence im trying to read all the stuff here...and it seems that im having information overload.

PhilippinesLooking for Philippine spices in usa?
I think AJINOMOTO is obsolete (can't find the right word, hehe). I'm no longer using it, as MSG is not really good for our health (well, according to what i have read) You can find alternative spices for ur wifey's dishes. Yeah, she can use Magic Sarap or Knorr. In California, there's a Sea Food Market where you can find almost all kind of Filipino stuff. Maybe you know someone from Cali who can buy you Ajinomoto and ship it to your house. Well, i think that's the least thing that you can do =)

PhilippinesWestern Union Sucks
Maybe bcoz u sent more than $1000, try sending like $990..though it will cost much becuz u have to pay 2 remittance fee. I had same problem waaay before becuz my mom sent me more than $1000...

Try BPI remittance center. They have "pick up anywhere" (any bpi branches) facility. =)

QUOTE (jom @ Oct 26 2009, 08:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Get her a Voter's ID and you might want to use an agency to get her a passport. Agencies have the proper connections inside the DFA and they may be able to get a passport for her. You will pay more but sans the hassle.

Goodluck.

Is your fiancee a registered voter? She could go to the municipal hall and ask there where she can get her ID. She can also apply for a driver's license, but I think she need a student permit first before she can apply for an ID, im not sure though =) I agrre with jom. Your fiance should ask assistance from an agency ( a legit agency) to apply for her passport. They charge extra for an expedite case, but its ok =D

Have her do the medical ASAP in case something like a sputum test pops up. Also have her go after 1PM tuesday thru thrusdays. Tell her wear loose fitting clothes. Have her make a copy of her passport as they will take it and she won't get it back until after her embassy interview.
She only needs the NOA2 approval letter and her MNL# to get in. She can use her cellphone also.
Be sure she's not in her period. Take 3 passport pictures, 2 ballpens and water and snacks.

Thanks for this info. I will have my medical on Monday next week. How long would it take for me to complete the medical exam on day 1? What about on Day 2? Is TB skin test a requirement?

Day 1 was all of the tests. She said she got a TB test done, not sure how that was done. Day 2, she arrived and found out she was cleared, waited for awhile and got 3 shots and she was done. She went in around 10-11am and left around 5-6PM. The next day she was there from 2pm until around 5pm.

Thanks so much for the reply =) I'm planning to go there around 10am also. I was checking NinJones post regarding her medical experience, and i didn't see anything that she took a TB test, just an Xray. Anyway, thanks again! =)

PhilippinesFINALLY IM WITH FIANCE HERE IN USA...but.....
QUOTE (LaneAndDaisy @ Dec 19 2009, 08:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone..Im in US now with my fiance..At the moment we are still in LA but soon to leave for WI...I arrived last night and the PAL flight PR 102 was really nice in terms of food, accomodation, entertainment..The plane has individual tv screen where u can watch movies, play games or listen to music of your choice..wow..food was delicious....my first time to have great amenities on the plane.....

I have bad news and good news though...
Good news is im here now..bad news is my uncle who fetched me at MNL airport and drove me all the way to QC to get my CFO sticker and back to MNL airport in the evening, died yesterday.. Its a shocking news...He was so alive to me..We had great bonding together. Before he left me at the airport he told me to call him up as soon as I arrive LAX..I was so excited and called my parents first and only to find out that my uncle, a priest died just few hours after we saw each other at the airport..i didnt know it was his last day/moment with me...this is really so unbelievable...up to this very moment, its hard to sink in the bad news..Uncle wherever u are now--I LOVE YOU and THANK YOU SO MUCH for being there for me despite the bz church schedule u had yesterday..I enjoyed every moment spent with u esp. when we lost our way to CFO..it was fun while we kept on looking for that place..be aware uncle that I was excited to inform u that Im here with Lane but u already left us. May your good soul rest in peace...Ill always keep the Rosary u gave me and remember God loves you for serving Him well.

My fellow VJ'rs I really have mixed emotions now...Im happy and sad...I cant describe what I feel...Like how could I celebrate Christmas in festive mood when u know someone special in the family passed away recently...and also unbelievable coz we were together just hours ago before I left???
But since I'm already with my handsome and kind fiance who condoled while i was in tears yesterday, Ill try to be happy..I know my uncle is happy for me eventhough he wont be around anymore this Christmas and New Year... I offer this post for you..U also became a part of my journey...

Ill keep in touch with you guys when Ive some questions regarding AOS....I hope u remain helpful to us...

Thank you

daisy

My condolences and sympathy =( At least you had a great time together before he left. =(

PhilippinesVISA Delivery

hello! usually it takes 5-7days before they deliver your visa but still it depends on the embassy if they will put your visa on hold for further review. I got mine exactly 5days after my interview while I received my son's visa 2 days after his interview. goodluck!

Thanks for the reply =) I got a pink slip so i think theres no need for further review. I just hope to received my visa next week. =)

PhilippinesVISA Delivery
My visa was approved last Monday, January 11 but until now I haven't received my packet. I called Air21 just now and I was told that they don't have my visa yet. How long does it usually take to print and deliver the visa? I read some post here that they got their visas in 2 days. I paid 200 something pesos in Air21 before i left the embassy. Btw, I live near Manila so i think delivery would not be a problem. Thanks! =)

I think your case will be okay...they took your passport and its a good thing =) Divert your attention to other things..focus on your relationship.. continue to do the things that both of you do before - have a date, an online date. =) My fiance and I watch the same movie together while on the phone (with the popcorn, fries etc,and lights off =)..just to feel the movie theathre atmosphere) We eat together while on skype. Mushy =) but these things makes the waiting time bearable. Have more fun with your fiance, and soon the visa will be on your hand =)
