K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNo Information or help at all on USCIS site :(

That is very typical. This is the main reason it is called the mis-information line. They will tell you to wait 30 days before you call again. You can try to call back and ask for a tier 2 supervisor--you will need to be persistant. You really have no need to worry as the K-1 is now currently taking 6-8 months and you are currently in month #4 or about half way thru the wait--unless things pick up. They will not discuss anything unless you are the person named on the petition or application or that person gives permission for the USCIS to talk to their representative.

I would find something constructive to do with yur time so you are not always checking the status of the petition and driving yourself crazy.

Good luck,

Dave

agree, when your fiancee will call USCIS again he needs to talk to tier 2

It means is approved and that petition now goes to NVC for a visa number. That would be a couple of weeks, but check what others are saying in process time. Once a visa number is assigned then is shipped to Warsaw.

Ok, thats great,
Hope it wont take to long, i will tell my fiance to start calling nvc next week around wednesday, hopefully they will receive our case by then and assign visa number

Thanks

Congrats.. I'm a late December 12 filer... still waiting. I'm in NY do I just write to any senator. What should be in the letter? thanks in advance for the info

I think you can write to any senator from NY, since I am beneficiary from Poland we choose senator whos grandparends are from Poland. About the letter i think you should write that Vermont has huge backlog and they should already accept you petition but you still waiting, and of course would be good to give another reason why you need help of you senator, just dont make it to long. I think the best is to write the truth in the letter, you can also mention how much you love your partner. Everything should be fine. Just remember to check if they need from you permission to contact with uscis, we had to give them that writen permission. Oh, and in that letter dont forget to write which uscis office is your case, case number and when you filed petition to uscis. For our senator to contacting uscis took 3 days and then about one week before the uscis accepted our case.

I hope this helps, if you have more questions i will be glad to respond

Vermont its moving cause we asked for help from our senator.

PEOPLE start writing to your senators they can help REALLY

if uscis will get many letters from senators then maybe they will start working faster

I got many helpful tips from this site, now moving to next step NVC, hope this wont take to long

, thank you everyone and good luck on your journey

Congratilations!!

By any chance was your file transferred to another office?
Ours was transferred to the texas office.

Not that i know, i guess if they would transfer our case then there would be some info about this, but we asked for help from our senator, thats why it was accepted, i think that why
Either way finally have this one step over my head, one step closer to be with my love

Congrats!
Any chance you could give an idea/summary of what you said to your Senator? Did you mention your case in specific or just the general slowness of VSC?

We mention our case in specific, but there was also inf that vermont has huge backlog and its very slow,
We wrote truth about why we asking for hlep with this and our senator two days after they receive our letter contacted uscis office and asked them that this matter be attended to promptly. And honestly I didnt think its gonna work but it did, so it is truth that no matter what you need tell the truth and everything will be fine.

My case was accepted because my fiance and I asked for help from our senator in Maryland.
I think if everyone will start asking for help and then senators will start asking the uscis to do something then this waiting might change.

Im very happy but ferl very sorry for everyone who have wait for acceptance
Today when i checked our case number first I saw info about A# change and then about 15 mins later then changed it to post decision activity and acceptance

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsyour Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E

Ok, so did USCIS tell you it's a glitch or is it your own opinion?

The immigration officer I spoke with said nothing about a glitch.

I talked to many different vj members, at the beggining of the process they all recevied this information, and all of them were calling the USCIS, they were getting different info, one of them were told that USCIS changed their process and signing A# at the beggining, and other were told that its a glitch,
And i think its second thing, cause everyone getting info about A# second time just before approval.
Last week i got that info 15mins before they approved my application

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsyour Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E

I just got off the photo with a USCIS immigration officer who called me back after I called the USCIS general hotline yesterday and of course didn't receive any useful information.

The officer today confirmed that the A# isn't a glitch.  You receive the message when they assign the Alien Registration number to the fiance' which is the number that will be used for their future Green Card, ect..  Also, if you receive this message early on it means that they've actually started on your case.  If you haven't received the notice then they have received it but haven't necessarily started reviewing it.

Other than this, the immigration officer was basically the same as the general USCIS hotline officer.  She couldn't provide me with any time line estimates.  She just said it varied and said the usual, "we are processing Oct 15, 2012 filers" which isn't entirely true if we have seen filers from this year approved.

Yes, thats a glitch, but if you receive same information second time in few months from now then its not a glitch. First time i got this info in January 2013 and second time on June 5th

You might want to check in the military forums. Is this company contracted by the US army? Or does your fiance actually work for the US army? If it's a company that just does some work for the US army I doubt you can be expedited on military grounds. Others can correct me if I'm wrong.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFInally got the NOA2

August 6th filers going through Vermont. I know there are millions of "NOA2! now what?!" so I'll go look at them but....wait a week and call the NVC? Go ahead and get some documents together right? What exactly do I send to my fiancé now? Is it too early to send the I-134 with the supporting evidence? How important is the letter from my employer? or are recent pay stubs and 2012 tax returns enough?

everything is on this website: http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):
1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).
2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.
3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).
4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.
5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.
6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.
7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate emails and letters you have sent including the stamps on envelopes (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

At the top of the forum there is a link to "Start New Topic". You can click that to make a new post of your own.

That section you are speaking of is not about the foreign fiance(e)/beneficiary. That is for any dependents the USC petitioner has. If he has no minor children and does not claim anyone else on his taxes, then he should put None.

For #11, follow the example form > http://www.visajourn.../Form-I-134.pdf

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForm ds-230 few questions

Hi everyone,

I have few questions about form ds-230

Question #32
"List below all employment for the last ten years"
Not sure if i should write about employment during the i-129f process, cause on form g-325a sent to USCIS i was unemployed, so i put there unemployed, but during the process i found part time job, but i didnt update that information, so should i write it on form ds-230 for the embassy interview, or just write same as on the form g-325a
About being an aupair - is that considered as job, i wrote that in form ds-230

List your current employment in DS-230
And one more question regarding number 32
"In what occupation do you intend to work in the united states"
What should i write there, or i should leave it blank

TBD
Question #33
"List below all educational institutions attended"
about high school - in degree or diploma should i write high school diploma or something else
about courses taken in american college while i was in the US - should i include them too

Sure, list all
Question #35
Dates of previous visits to the united states,
In location space should i write exact address, including street, house number, city, state and zip code, or just city and state will be enough

If you can fit it into the form, give whole address; if not, just city and state

Question #43a
"Have ou ever applied for a SS#"
When i was in tue US i applied for SS# so i could open bank account,
Is this SS # still valid or i have to apply for new one

SSN is valid for life

Question #43b
I checked box NO, is that correct

No is correct. You're K1, you will have to do any changes (like name change)  yourself at SSA office.

Hey,

Thnks for your help,
What means that TBD?
