hi everyone,

thought i'd just drop a note and let you wonderful people know that my visa has been approved. I had my interview on Aug 1st, although not without some drama haha but that all didn't matter since I got approved.

Picked up my passport on Aug 2nd, and leaving for the States tomorrow. Very excited as I haven't seen my husband for about 3 months! Hopefully POE will be uneventful and we'll soon be reunited. He asked me if he should give me a hug or do a side-hug since my belly is so much bigger than when I left the US in May! I'm due the first week of Oct so we're going to have a lot to do before our firstborn gets here!

Thanks for your hlpe, eveyone, and good luck to those still going through this journey. It's been a long wait (we applied Aug 18 2012) but it's so worth it!

No you're wrong. They really do have a set time and they fill the slots. Some embassies however always have slots available. thats why you may see a Iceland or other less busy place get Interview same day they get case complete.

But the general roll call of interview scheduling really is a select time. If you see someone pop up and say "He I got an interview". It was either their embassy had slots still open, someone cancelled and opened up a date.

NVC can tell u easily if your embassy is closed for interviews them or DOS would know. Sorry thats how it goes.

agreed. I was told the US Embassy Kuala Lumpur only do their interviews on Tuesday and Thursday, so limited days.

good observation robinhood... they did not give any appointments between 07/12 and 07/28, i really can't understand whats wrong with them at all... delay.. delay... and delay......

And also on other note, i saw a recent post in new delhi consulate review posted on July 5th saying that they were again asked for PCC even though the one submitted to NVC was just 6 months old... Its because of NVC delay our PCC is now more than 6 months old, do we have to get a new one again? I thought PCC is valid for 1 Year right? any idea on that?... link is below..

Maybe you can email them and ask directly? I found out from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the PCC is valid for 3 months, but a US embassy staff told me it's valid for a year, so might be a good idea to ask them directly since different embassies different requirements. good luck!

My husband requested for an expedite and we were granted, so yesterday I spoke to a staff at the US Embassy here in Malaysia and she gave me Aug 1 as our tentative interview date.

Hope everyone's case is chugging along! We should all be done by now, it's almost August. It's crazy how long these processes take!

Wow!!!! I truly understand how you feel. We filed Aug 17 2012 and got our NOA2 on May 3rd. We thought it'd be processed quickly BUT someone somehow lost our packet btw CIS-NVC. By the time it was 'discovered' (after we contacted congressman for help), it was already June 11. Sigh.

I registered to vote in DC but I went to the polling centre just to see in case someone came and voted as me! Glad to know they put a mark on my name, signifying im a postal voter so I'm happy about that.

I'm back alone, but looking fwd to kicking NVC's butt and going home soon

I was also told to call NVC instead of waiting for a case number from them as waiting could take as long as 3 weeks. Intend to do that as soon as we get our NOA2 in the mail!

HI everyone

My husband filed our petition mid Aug, our date was 20th August 2012.

I flew from the US and arrived in Malaysia today, on a short trip home. When I checked my email this morning, I saw an email from USCIS, saying they'd sent out NOA2 and it should arrive at our home address soon. And I almost deleted it coz I thought it was SPAM haha

So very happy about it, because before flying back, I was feeling a little disheartened by the long wait, but a friend of mine helped me go through the documents we should be sending for NVC stage, so now that we're getting the NOA2, we'll be sending the next packet to NVC real soon.

So for those still waiting, do try and call the helpline and ask to speak to a Tier 2 officer, we did that last week and got more info than speaking to the normal CSR you'd get. And don't lose hope, it's disheartening, having to wait but once you get the NOA2, it shouldn't be too long til you get your visa!

Use that time to get all your NVC docs together, thats what I did, and once we got the NOA2, we can put them together and send them all out!

Anyone got approved today?
we called and talked to a CSR who rambled on about a bunch of options including just AOS-ing as the beneficiary (me) is already in the US. My husband called the CBP and they confirmed that it'd be considered fraudulent so we didn't want to go down that route.

The CSR also told us to call back in 30-60 days, and that they're processing Aug 6 applications now. Blergh.

Got transferred to Tier 2 officer as we told them we're military, told her we got transferred to NBC MO, then she checked and told us they're processing JULY 2nd 2012 applications now :wow:

. Told us to wait another 30 days before checking again.

They transfer your case to NBC it should be consider as luck, if you would of stuck with Vermont, not only you'll be curl up and cry but be ready for a longggggg wait in line. Many people file in June in Vermont still waiting for approval, as the clock ticking, yes they waited 8 months plus.

All other services center are clearing case in July and August 2012 where as Vermont still working on June 4th and they are taking their sweet time too.

That's what I thought though, that being transferred would mean we'd get our petition processed faster. But it's been almost six months and there's barely any news

so when I check on USCIS, how do I know the status or what's going on with our petition. There's barely anything and even calling the helpline doesn't help. All they do is tell us to wait. Pfffttt.

Anyone else got transferred to NBC MO?

I got married in July '2012 and my husband , who is US citizen by birth, filed i-130 late august. Still my case showed in initial review; though all my documents were ready before he filed the case including my new passport with changed surname. Its depressing to wait so long Any idea how much it will take more

we called the helpline yesterday. The automated voice msg said wait until we've 180 days before calling again *cries* I'm so gonna keep calling. Also, anyone knows how we can talk to a 'person' since each time we called, it said to call btw the right hours. Is the centre somewhere in California maybe?

Hi all,
my husband file for the petition in mid August 2012. Until now, we haven't received anything from the USCIS. OUr file was transfeered to MO NBC office, and I am worried we haven't heard anything from them. It also said (on case status) our case was last updated on 4th of September 2012.

Other people have been approved and received their NOA2. We haven't. Is there anything we can do to find out what's going on? Thank you!

When you hear that timetick, the IV unit has the file, has logged the file, and has opened the file, and it's possible for the IV unit to 'go forward' with more stuff, once they've opened the casefile.

Prior to that timetick? That casefile is in limbo.

We are having the same problem. Mailed the ds 3032 and received notification from usps on may 24.. Mailed it on may 30. Received confirmation of receipt from nvc on june 10 and still hace not received the iv invoice. My husband called twice already and told him we had to wait ... this is nuts!!. How much longer ....

I opted to email (refer to previous post about DS3032 format) and got a reply on the same day. Mailed, it would have taken a lot longer.

I never sent the DS3032 form. My husband received it in the packet NVC sent him, but I emailed the DS3032 (using template given) and received these replied. Thought i'd share; hope this helps.

I have paid the AOS bill and sent the package in, but they still haven't accepted the DS3032 (all i got is the generic auto reply email 10 days ago)

in our case, USCIS/NVC couldn't find our packet, so we had to wait almost a month for them to 'find' it. When I was told they found it and was given the case number (not the IIN), I immediately emailed them the DS3032, even though at the time my husband did not receive the packet in the mail yet. I followed the format given in the guide, which I shall paste below for your info (after ***).

At first, I emailed the same format, but only got a generic "we will process your enquiry bla bla bla". Then i read that someone put "SUPERVISOR REVIEW" in the subject, so I re-emailed with that phrase in the subject and received a reply saying they accepted it. My husband received the packet and IIN a week after I sent the DS3032 email.

I don't think I'll be sending the hardcopy DS3032 as it will take a while before it gets to NVC. is it necessary to do so as NVC has already said they accepted the email copy?

I never did send the hardcopy. I emailed and they emailed me back, saying it's accepted. About a week after that, we got our IIN, and the packet in the mail. Emailing was a better idea since they use the US mailing address format instead of the way I typed it in, effectively messing up my overseas address, therefore if they try to send anything via mail to me, it would not reach me!

You can request to expedite for any reason you want, however, that reason may not actually result in an approval for expedite.

Pregnancy is not a reason to expedite.

Ya, am aware of that. Our case is not as simple as it sounds, it's a bit more complicated than what I stated here but we're going to try.

we got the NVC case number on June 11, 2013, but not the IIN.

So I sent the DS3032 via email on June 11, 2013 but received a general auto response. So on June 13, 2013, I sent another one but put "supervisor review" in the subject box as well as my NVC case number and name. Received a reply immediately.

On June 17, 2013, we finally got the email with the NVC case number, IIN and beneficiary ID number. My husband is going to pay for it on June 18, so it should take a couple days for them to process it (so they say).

He was told by the IO that we can request for an expedite since I am overseas and 6 months pregnant. Anyone has idea what documents we should prepare? he's with the military so letter from CO maybe?

I believe you can enter Canada with just a US green card, but I'm not 100% sure. If you want to find out, I'd suggest calling the CBSA and asking them, particularly the land border through which your husband would be traveling through. Even if you can just travel on a green card, I would highly suggest having the Canadian passport on hand as well though, in case they want to see it. I would never travel to Canada on just my green card; I'd always bring my passport with me as well.

You could have downloaded the forms as soon as you sent the I-130 petition. No one will stop you for downloading forms. But, you can't send them to NVC until you've paid the respective fees. So, since you haven't already, download them and fill them out asap. Then wait.

Call up and try again. Typically, the IIN is scheduled at the same time as the case number. Some operators are just picky about giving it out.

thanks! I downloaded and got everything filled out before I left the US last month. Now just waiting to pay the fees so we can mail them all out. Really hoping we can sail through this one, our case got delayed :s Hoping there won't be anymore hiccups after this!

husband called yesterday. spoke to a tier 2 IO and he expressed his 'condolences', said we're in for a long wait and that they've been backlogged so bad it's not even funny. They submitted a case request and my husband's gonna write to the senators next. We'll see how long this will take. Sigh.
