So I ran out today and got my US $262 for the Visa (me+my son). So that was the last thing I needed. We are still waiting for the IRS transcripts....which my fiancé has promised that he will call Mon and try to get them faxed. He had ordered them by mail, but no show so far sad.gif this is the last thing that is keeping me nervous!

I am happy that my fiancé is coming, but have sworn him to best behaviour! Lol'! He is such a practical joker and always tries to play around with people...so I made him promise to not answer the question 'do you still intend to marry her?' with 'I guess there's no turning back at this point! Why do you guys still issue refunds after today?' I'd kill him! I mean we always have good laughs, but the Embassy is not the place! Lol'! smile.gif

Good grief... I so know what you mean! D does the SAME THING!!!! Especially when we're about to arrive at an airport... get on the airplane... crossing the border... someplace where you KNOW you're NOT supposed to say or joke about certain things. Oyyy... is that a man thing?

Lol you can joke around a litttle, last time I went to see charles, the guy at the peace bridge asked me if I had anything to declare. I replied a bag of gummy bears and I pulled them out of my purse to show him. He was laughing which is really unusual for those guys.

laughing.gif

laughing.gif laughing.gif I declared a cup of Tim's at the Peace Bridge & got a chuckle. They are human after all smile.gif

No they won't as least I've never seen that happen. It is up to you to bring them any information about past illness that you want them to see or might need. They will not do any leg work. So if you do have things you think they might want or need about your past medical history that you think might put a damper on things, then definitely bring as much information as you can from your Dr.

Thank you! I appreciate your input. There are some things that are ancient (teen years) that may or may not hinder the process, so this is good to know.

Ohh good point.

They will ask you questions about your medical history. If for example you had a serious case of depression and have been treated - you can bring documentation from your Dr. to outline everything. If you had anything major then yes, being some notes from your Dr.
[/quote]

Okay. Do they check in with primary doctor to get more info on your medical history?

Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding the medical exam: do you have to bring medical records with you to the exam? Do the physicians screen your medical history? Just curious. smile.gif

Have a lovely Day.

No medical records, just your immunization records

Thank you! Just wondering how they would then know if someone was treated or seen for depression or something similar? do they care? paranoid, ya know? wacko.gif

For the affidavit:

My fiance (the USC) is back being a student since January so he doesn't make any money and does not reach the poverty level. His step-mom is going to be our co-sponsor.
Do they both (fiance + step mom) need to fill out I-134 and gather past W2, bank statements etc, or just hers is enough?

Do you have to submit tax forms (w2s) for Montreal?

Hi everyone!

I am getting in line for Montreal soon (hopefully) - still processing through NVC but I've been lurking in this forum for a few months now wink.gif Stephanie, what a great spreadsheet! That helps ease the worried mind.
I have a few questions, if you all don't mind:
- do we have to wait to schedule the medical until we receive packet 3, or will a MTL case # work?
- Do we need the I-134 to be sent back with packet 3 or does it go with him to the interview?
- What financial supporting evidence does Montreal require (IE do they require taxes?)

Thank you all. Looking forward to moving forward and waiting for Montreal now smile.gif

Does anyone know if VSC work over the weekend to clear the petitions or is it normal business hours? Any advice would be much appreciated???

They aren't open, but many people get approvals over the weekend, and at odd hours. There was a thread some time ago, in which a former adjudicator at the Nebraska Service Center answered some questions. He said that employees often have flexible hours and sometimes take their work home, or work weekends.

You never know... Good luck to you! Any day now! good.gif

The writ of mandamus is a great idea but i'm afraid, as mentioned above, the uscis can take as long as they like when it comes to security checks.

Perhaps I can forward all of sara's information to as many legal folks as I can find and hopefully find one that is willing to at least try to do something. I still think it's important to get the media involved in some way too. No agency likes to be called out. wink.gif

I am going to create a website for sara and perviz that will include a letter in pdf format that can be printed or sent electronically to everyone and anyone who will listen. I'll also put links so people can find their reps. Any and all other suggestions are more than welcome.

Wow..Sara & Pervis will have their own website!! That's awesome! good.gif good.gif

The best way to get media attention is 2 ways: viral / web marketing & contacting them directly - local & national, but its always best to know someone. Media seems to do well picking up good stories via the web. Some avenues are Facebook, ireport (on cnn.com), Twitter, Youtube, etc. Blogs that link back to the site/story (requires consistent updating or a lot of dedicated people with a following). I'm not an expert, but this pairs well with a website. Through this internet attention, the media usually picks up on it (think Susan Boyle) and runs with the story. If you do this and also send emails/letters to the media, you've got a shot at success.

Those are my two cents.

Ditto! I would sign a petition!!

This is a bit OT: I know the media has not been interested in the past but....

I had a thought while flipping through channels tonight, my fiance watches Lou Dobbs on CNN. Lou Dobbs is always straightforward and critical of government and its inefficiencies, I have heard stories of him investigating about other federal departments. I wonder if he would be interested in publisizing USCIS. I mean Sara's petition sat for ONE YEAR just waiting for someone to send out an RFE!! Not to mention the increase in fees, decrease in efficiency, employees losing documents, whole petitions, medicals!! customer service agents who don't have a clue, FBI backlogged, first in first out I think not!! Anyways, I think it might be a good way to bring up Sara's case!

I agree!! I think the media is a must. Not just for Sara's case, but for the many people who struggle with this process to be with the people they love. One hurdle after another, stupid restrictions, and random craziness.

We should all band together and spam the media about all these things. Its all maddening!

We can create a petition/letter on Google Docs and all electronically sign, then each print, sign for real and submit to our congressman, the news, the president - whoever we can think of.

Sara, you're in all our prayers. You and your SO hold on to each other. you've waited this long, please don't give up on love.

Have a blast!!!!!!!!! Hope you get through alright!!! I'm pretty nervous about my POE on saturday!! eeeeeeeeeek!!!

Don't be nervous! It'll be all ok. I went through it in December while i had my NOA1 and nothing went wrong. They just ask you the basic questions, the officer was a little suspicious...he thought i came a little often to the usa;) He just asked 'do you have so many times vacation and you only visit the usa??' lol. Make sure you have something like a letter from ur work, saying they expect you back.
Good luckand have a nice time!!

Jeanine

My Fiance came to visit in December and had as much supporting evidence as he could muster, in a nice neat book - and they barely asked him where he was going - it was his easiest entry into the US ever! Good luck smile.gif good.gif

I finally have an apartment, pending a credit check. It's a lovely two bed apartment built this year. So new there are no carpets down yet!

Getting used to being single. Though at the moment I see no difference between being in a long distance relationship and being single. We still chat a bit, I go to bed alone and wake up alone. The only difference is there are no I love yous. Am back at work tomorrow after a week off so I am going to have to start all over again with the Tom and I are no longer together...

Hang in there Laura. The pics of the flat on Facebook are really cute. I hope the new place works out. Hopefully things will start looking up for you soon. rose.gif

My fiancée has found a new pastime; wedding planning. She's so far gotten the wedding attire, floral arrangements, gifts to the guests, her hair style, and part of the reception menu. I give her credit because she is balancing several responsibilities now and still enjoying every moment of this planning. As a bit of a surprise to her, my brother-in-law and I are going to play some guitar as well. He was my first teacher and we've learned to play well together. Sing a couple of sweet songs for her, and some live entertainment for the guests.

If only this interview were scheduled for this coming month, our plans might fall right in place.

That sounds really sweet! Do you have any idea when the interview will be?

We are waiting and hoping ... no real idea how much time we are looking at. Home stretch! no matter how long it gets... whistling.gif

Hey everyone, Hope you're all well! What a relief! Won't be long now!! Our packet 3 was lost in the mail, so we just put it all together and sent it in. We tried emailing Montreal (they don't accept phone calls) and they replied with "click here' to some obscure page on the state department website. We emailed two more times and no reply. Please resend packet 3, etc... no reply tongue.gif so, we did it ourselves, sent it in, scheduled the medical (yes, you can), and both mailed and faxed a copy. Hows everyone doing?

Doing really good. I Booked our flights over the weekend as I wanted to go to interview and help pack/move. We allowed about 11 days from interview to flight to US so we should have plenty of time to get returned passport with visa.

We got a lot of removal quotes and have settled on John Mason as their quote was best at under £800. Car has been sold and most everything is ready to go - just calendar watching now. Can't tell you how glad we'll on the day we'll NOT to have to use Skype anymore. We are both so ready to step away from computers for a while (and enjoy the 3rd dimension smile.gif ).

AMEN! Thats so funny, my Fiance always says 3rd dimension relationship too. Skype is not as bad as e-mails... ;-)

Chelsea and Josue should be getting married today if I remember correctly!

We're having a new packet 3 sent I think ours was lost. Getting closer, everything is ready to send back. Regardless, he is going to come here at the end of May to stay a few weeks, then we are going to drive to Montreal together, if there is not an interview before that. I did see a few but this is my home. I have gotten a few good leads from the other threads.

Hopefully we can all jump into the same AOS thread, I know I'm usually quiet, but I love my October filing family - we've got a long way to go still - I hope we can stay together smile.gif rose.gif
maybe October Vermont K-1 filers AOS Thread? Is that confusing laughing.gif

Congrats Beans!!! That's great news!!

It's true not much movement here. That's excatly what's happening to us right now: NO MOVEMENT!! We are still stuck in AP at NVC. Seems like the average delay is 50days, so we still have a long wait if it applies to us. I'm secretly hoping a release this week! smile.gif

I found another family on VJ (Stuck at NVC), but this will always be home! rose.gif luv.gif

Have a great trip Chels. Hope the interview will go smoothly and that you'll be coming back with your sweety!

Congrats Beans!!
kicking.gif kicking.gif
Chels - Good LUCK! I hope that you get to bring Josue with you on your way home smile.gif

Julie - I hope that you get out of NVC and that Montreal accepts your petition transfer and everything speeds up.

Our Petition was slow to transition through NVC but has been received in Montreal - I've been hanging out over there on "waiting for an interview in Montreal" hoping that Montreal gains record speed whistling.gif

Wishing everyone the best along their visa journeys... see you all in the AOS threads ;-) luv.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif

Thanks guys, and Carmen that's sweet thank you. I'm happy today hehe. I don't care too much if it takes awhile after this part some of the worst is over and for that I'm grateful. I don't know if Jeremy knows yet, I left him a message on Skype..didn't want to wake him up. Well that's a lie, I did want to wake him up but I decided against it.

Thanks everyone!!!

Ahhh! Wake him up! I'm sure he'll be overjoyed wink.gif

Oh Man! That stinks!!! I still have no idea whats going on with our case at NVC. I would take the Vancouver interview - Vancouver is faster! wink.gif

It is faster but very expensive!!!! Besides I donèt get....why would they send me there if they do the exact same thing here! Nvc said today that our file should leave for Vancouver this week.....sad.gif

That is so weird. Does it say Vancouver on your 797? Have you looked into the Train or Greyhound to get to Vancouver? Longer but cheaper. Wow.

I wonder why they are sending it there. Maybe Montreal is trying to speed up and shifting some of the workload - blink.gif and you can't talk them out of it?

I call NVC every day and they still don't have us in their system. Its getting frustrating.

Hello all! I haven't seen much movement for Oct. filers at VSC lately...what's up with that??? They need to wake up!!! For those of you who are still waiting, STAY STRONG!!

I'll take that advice for myself as well, since we are officially stuck in AP at NVC crying.gif On top of it all a supervisor repeated to me that my interview will be in Vancouver instead of Montreal...I feel that they really don't know what they are talking about since I also follow a thread here on VJ about people waiting for interviews in Montreal. I'm going nuts since we can be stuck in AP for a while and then I might have to have the file transfered from Vancouver to Montreal - don't know how that works yet, and I hear that the delays to get and interview in Montreal is 4months!!!! mad.gif crying.gif

I thought that things would run smoothly for us as well after we get the NOA2, but noooooooo.....I feel even more helpless now......

good luck everyone

Grr, I just called the NVC and I was told my case was not received yet, and that it could take about 2-4 weeks and sometimes even 90 days for a package to reach the NVC. mmm.... I guess i'll have to wait a little longer and try to call again in a couple of days... tongue_ss.gif

Glen

I was told this too when I called on the 19th. Yet it seems NVC receives petitions 2-4 working days after the NOA2 date. I hope this isn't cause for concern. I'll be calling first thing Monday morning in hopes that its already on its way to Montreal... unsure.gif

Hello all!! Congrats on the new NOA2s kicking.gifkicking.gif

On a side note, I urge all of you to call NVC as soon as possible especially is there are more than one consulate dealing with K1s in your country. I just called them and was told that our file was going to Vancouver because that is the only consulate in Canada dealing with K1s... that's BS!!!!! I'm in Montreal and the consulate here deals with it to. I was trying to tell the lady that she was wrong but she wouldn't hear it. So she finally went to check with someone and came back with the same answer!?!?!?!? WTH???? Dex is on the phone with them now cause I couldn't get a hold of them....always busy....but for some reason a USC got a line right away....interesting!!!!!! LOL

I REALLY don't want our file to go to Vancouver, cause I know it will be hell transfering it back to Montreal. For those of you who don't know, Vancouver is about a 6-7hour plane ride from here and very pricy mad.gif

I'll keep you posted!

WHAT?! OMG!!!!!! I talked to NVC yesterday and they said they didn't have it input yet. Have you gotten your NOA2 in the mail? I receieved mine today and it said the consulate was Montreal. You? Keep me posted, please

Hello all! Thanks for all the support. Balvino and I are picking up our visa this Friday....We were Approved!!! Needless to say we are so excited. I purchased tickets for next Thursday. I still need to tell my family we are returning early.

I will write a more detailed review later but this is the basic outline:
We arrived and everything went smoothly. Everyone there was very nice especially the women that told us we were getting our visa. She laughed at our photos and laughed at Balvino, who could bearly write his own name he was so excited...I love him! During the entire process we talked to two people. The first women was not so nice. She asked to talk to Balvino alone and asked some questions that were normal. How old is your Fiancee...we have a 15 year difference and I know some people will have a problem with this. How long have you know her?, etc. But the one question that threw Balvino for a loop was ´Why didn´t you fall in love with a girl from Waspam? (where Balvino was born) Balvino said he didn´t want to answer. He just said ´I love my Fiancee´. When I returned to the window she asked me how do we communicate if I don´t speak Spanish. I do speak Spanish it is just not that good(now she is bashing my Spanish!). When I said we have a lot in common she rolled her eyes and said ´Like what?´ She was so full of attitude it really annoyed me. I had heard such nice things about the Embassy here. I have to say that we had good evidence. If this women had plans to suggest that we not pass we really made it difficult. Balvino and I have known each other for two and a half years and I have visited him and his family 9 times during the duration. To have someone judge us at the end of our long journey is frustrating, to say the least.

Sorry so long I guess I needed to vent and sorry about the typos I am not at my computer. I would love feedback about whether or not I am over reacting. Please ask questions if you have any. The evidence that seem to change the womens mind was the number of flights I had made to visit Balvino. So sleepy. Thanks guys! I am going to sleep on it but I may write a letter to the Embassy...after I have our visa:)

Congratulations!! star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

Good Luck Winifredbee with the interview!

Congrats Anne! That must feel so good. Hopefully I will know how it feels soon:)

Thanks to all of you for remembering about my interview. I think we are ready. Good idea to quiz each other about the family stuff as well. I asked Sarah of Sarah and Yadar about the questioning at the interview. Balvino and I had dinner with them the day after their interview, here in Managua. Sarah said that they did not question them separately during the interview but they did pull Yadar aside when they were entering the states. Here in Managua you wait in a big room with everyone else and then simply walk up to a window and talk to a person on the other side. Nice to think that an entire room of strangers will be witnessing my reaction. EEEKKK!! Tomorrow can not come soon enough.

Congrats on your visa Johan & Anne... Good luck Wini wink.gif Try to get some sleep tonight smile.gif

That is a UK specific Packet 3 letter. Thailand's is quite different.

Nicaragua doesn't even have a packet three. Seems like an odd step. We just emailed with the Embassy directly once we received approval. Glad to see more progress.

oh, that sounds so simple!

uk filers can contact the embassy in london by email BUT only after calling them (on a phoneline that costs $2.50ish/minute!) to get a email code (that changes weekly!) so that you can email them. i think that is pretty awful and inefficient.

its like the love to add extra steps to make it more arduous. I don't even see how that helps them?

Our packet was touched today, so I presume its now on its way to NVC. I'll start calling them on Wednesday whistling.gif
