Philippinespassport renewal

hi wud like to ask if there's en expiration to CFO cert.?

From my understanding, the CFO certificate does not expire. You will need the certificate when you renew the passport as proof of attendance.

Also, if you lose the certificate, you must pay 800 php replacement fee. Funny as the seminar fee to get the certificate was only 400 php. :)

Philippinespassport renewal

i would like to ask if anyone of you had tried this passport renewal in Philippines for married women to foreign nationals. They need a CFO, in my case I had my passport amended in DUbai when we reported our marriage in Philippine COnsulate. It was just a stamp saying that i am married to (name of my husband) then shows my name with my husbands last name.

do i still need to attend CFO and have that certificate to renew my passport?

I would say yes, but it is best to contact the CFO directly:

PhilippinesNaturalized Citizen - Can we stay for more than 21 days?

I've read that my daughter and I would be able to bypass the 21 day restriction if my wife had the balikbayan stamp.

I have had a bilikbayan stamp twice. It was stamped in my passport when I arrived with my wife and showed proof of marriage. It is normally given upon entry. I have never heard of anyone receiving the stamp days after arival. Best to check with BI to be sure. :)

I would go to the nearest Bureau of Immigration office tomorrow. They can answer all your questions officially.

http://www.immigration.gov.ph/

Does your wife have a valid Philippine passport? Even if she entered on her US passport as a tourist (21 days), it can be extended for 38 more days. After that period, it can be extended for an additinal 59 days. After that period, another 59 days, up to a year. The fees vary for each extension.

The best thing is to make sure you extend your visas BEFORE they expire.

Best of luck,

Kevin

PhilippinesCFO experience

There is no good reason why people have to show up at 3AM to get a slot, and then stay there for close to 12 straight hours. No efficiency whatsoever.

I agree. My wife attended the CFO in Cebu. There are only 12 slots for Americans each day. The first day she didn't get in, but she did the 2nd day. She was there for 11 hours, with only 1 hour for lunch. She brought pictures, but were not asked for them. They did want a copy of my bio page of my passport. She didnt have any parent advice (she is 22). They never mentioned it. She has her sticker and is ready to travel. Too bad the Government offices are so terrible in customer service. Seems like most times it's an all day affair just to get one piece of paper. :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 Recived working on AOS I864 Have question.

I thought they send the documents to Manila after NVC is finish and she is ready for the interview.

Yes, NVC will forward all the documents you send them to the Manila Embassy. It wouldn't hurt to make a copy of it and send it to your wife so she can be familiar with it. They may ask her finiancial questions in the interview.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures2012 TAXES - Married Filing Separate?
If you decide to get your wife an ITIN, you will be required to send your wife's passport with your tax return. It will be returned after the process is completed. This may be a factor if your wife is planning to travel anytime soon.

I applied for my wife's ITIN last year. I tried sending a copy of the passport as indicated in the W-7 instruction sheet. It was even authenticated my the Philippine Department of Foriegn Affiairs as a true copy. I was sent a vague notice by the IRS saying I was lacking documentation. I called, but they would not say what was lacking. So I mailed them the original passport and all was good. I know of another expat who had the similar experience.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresShould I be worried?! Regarding AOS

Your numbers are 100%, the OP needs 125%.

My above post is "outdated" as they are reflective of an obsolete form. The latest form I can find on the USCIS website is already expired too.

http://www.uscis.gov...form/i-864p.pdf

Does anyone have a 2013 version?

Look to see how many in your family, then the dollar ammount is the annual income required:

2 - $16,500
3 - $20,750
4 -$25,000
5 - $29,250
6 -$33,500
7 -$37,750
8 -$42,000

http://www.uscis.gov...000082ca60aRCRD

Now if your income is not sufficient, then you can use assets:

You may add the cash value of your assets. This includes money in savings accounts, stocks, bonds, and property. To determine the amount of assets required to qualify, subtract your household income from the minimum income requirement (125% of the poverty level for your family size). You must prove the cash value of your assets is worth five times this difference (the amount left over).

You should know whether you can meet the income requirement or if you will need a co-sponsor. There should be little doubt if you have the required income/assets. Hope this helps. :)

Income Requirements

You also must meet certain income requirements (whether you are a sponsor, a joint sponsor, or a substitute sponsor). You must show that your household income is equal to or higher than 125% of the U.S. poverty level for your household size. (Your household size includes you, your dependents, any relatives living with you, and the immigrants you are sponsoring.)

So, in order to see if you meet the standard, google I-864P form. Look at your family size, and look at 125%. It will tell you what annual income needs to be. If you dont meet that, then you can count assets. The USCIS website explains it very clearly. You SHOULD know when you complete form I-134 whether you meet the standard or do not meet the standard.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease Help me.

thank u so much for the quick reply sir. We planned to do fiance visa to be together and get married during my stay in the Philippines Dec 2011- may 2012 but is that considered a proposal sir?. what if they ask her when did i proposed or something like that?im so worried about the next steps.

Like the other poster replied, a K1 visa is for her to go to the US to be married. If you are married in the Philippines (as I was), then you would have to apply for a CR1. A CR1 will take longer than a K1 visa to process.

You must decide first which visa you want. Since you already mailed the I-129F, and if you want a K-1 visa, then you cannot marry in Philippines.

Good luck
