Hello everyone,

Our update is Cary got her green card in November and social security card in December, the wedding was July 28th. My question is should she contact the Philippine consulate to get her name changed on her passport? Here's why it is important. She is pregnant. I am in shock. I am in shock 'cause I had Prostate cancer seven years ago and was essentially told I would be shooting blanks. I had opted for eight weeks of daily radiation. Since I have a pre existing condition I can't get health insurance for less then the GDP of Guam. So what I have is a pregnant wife with no health insurance. It seems to us that it would be better if she went back to the Philippines and had the baby there. She also has a large family and would get more TLC there then here because I have a small family and everyone works a full time job. The toal cost there appears to be about $1,500 to $2,000 usd from pre to post natal and well baby care. My second question is what do I have to do to get my child into the US and to get the child citizen status? We are guessing that her due date will be mid August. We will have a more precise date when we see her Ob-Gyn the end of the month. I am in shock but I am also happy. I did share with her from the beginning what I was told by my doctors so of course we took no precausions. As always everyone's thoughts are welcome.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsk1 visa delays in Vermont Center

wow , today I have just found this website and I am very glad. I am the one who is waiting for NOA 2. we have received our NOA 1 in 05-FEB-2010 so we keep waiting for it to come. Our lawyer said that it would take only 4-6 months to get approve. However it doesn't seem to be ok for me. Waiting for something uncontrollable is hard. My fiance sent our K1 application to VSC and today I just read their lastest update on March 12-2010 that K1 visa takes 5 months at VSC that means my case will take longer than 6 months for sure that disappointed me very much. I don't know how to say. and please forgive me if my English is not good because I am Thai and waiting for K1 Visa. Anyone here who have the same problem with me are welcome to discuss.

Have a nice day everyone , time for me to go to bed hehe almost 1 am in Thailand

Kai

Hi Kai,

It took approximately 85 days from the receipt of my NOA 1 to NOA 2. We had a status date of December 30, 2009 and we got a text and Email on March 25, 2010 and today, March 30, 2010 I received the official NOA 2 in the mail. It seems their is inconsistencies in the processing, some take shorter then 3 months, others take longer then 3 months. I don't know why that is, but the good news is that after te USCIS things appear to go much quicker so I think it is possible to finish in around 5 months if you get through USCIS in 3 months. Did you or your fiance establish an account at the USCIS web site? It will be frustrating but you want to view your status as much as you can stand it. Mine never changed from January 3rd till March 25th, then approval. OBTW, your English is fine.

Lol, that is Classic man!!!!! I wish you had a photo of her on the lawn mower!!!! Wow!!! so cool. David

Don't laugh, I have the same thing planned. My fiancee has driven nothing with a motor so she has to start somewhere, so next month when she gets here she'll be driving around the neighborhood on the lawn tractor also. My fiancee is almost 4'10 so I have to see about the pedals. I am from the Philly area so there is plenty to see and do here and I about 2 hours from New York City and about 3 hours to DC. At this point I don't have anything specific planned, it will take a about a week to recover from jet lag and she wants her wedding in June so we'll see. It is a great topic though.

Hi, Panamajack

I feel for you and I am pulling for you, that's what I like about our group and this site, I feel like we are here for each other in the good times and the bad times. I know it has helped me through this process. I have an additional hill to climb after the interview, we are waiting for a custody document for my fiancee's son. The lawyer said he could do it in 6 months. August makes 6 months. I am hoping and praying it could be ready before August because I am on vacation June and July. It would be the perfect time for them arrive here.

I echo the sentiments of everyone who has posted to you. I hope this problem is a momentary glich and by now you are back on track.
Well my update is Cary passed the interview on May 6th, received her visa on May 13th. I will be leaving tomorrow out of Philly to go get her. I will be returning May 25th, her POE will be San Francisco.

As always congratulations to all who have completed the process and I hope those that are still in the process have a quick successful conclusion to their remaing steps.

For statistical purposes, I want to report that Cary's visa was approved.
I don't have any details, I just got a text, she thinks that 75 cents an hour is outrageous to pay for computer time.
She says she will have the visa in 10 days.
Of course if there is any additional information that may be helpful I will pass it on to everyone.

Our NOA 1 was dated December 28... Same as yours... And to this date, we still don´t have our NOA 2... Not even a touch (or an RFE)...

I wish there was something I could do... I tried calling, but got the canned response saying that I have to wait until after the 5 months passed. I also sent an e-mail to my congressman, and got another canned response saying they will reply in a few weeks.

Right now, we feel helpless... And we can´t help to think that there is something wrong.

Could they have found something wrong with our application? Even if we have not received any RFEs and we haven´t had any touches since December 31 (3 days after the NOA 1 date)?

What could be going on?

Believe me, I feel your pain. What I did was contract with a service to help me with potential problems in the Philippines and I decided that I could handle anything bad that might happen here in the states. I don't know what the real protocal is but I would have to consider whether I might be able to get a meeting with someone in USCIS either in Vermont or local. There is an office here in Philadelphia. If nothing else it will cause someone to have to find your paperwork. I'm sure others here will offer other suggestions as well. Understand that I am a person with little patience and would think nothing of showing up at the VSC to see what I could find out if I felt I was being ignored on the phone. I hate sounding radical but with most similar filiers getting NOA 2 and NVC notices, etc., I would have to consider drastic legal measures to have someone hear me. I may also visit an immigration attorney for some advise.

In my particular case, we had only one noted touch on 1/3/2010 till 3/25/2010. As you may already know we have a group of very knowledgeable people who filed in December. I wish I had a really good answer for you. I think being a phone pest may be a good way to get some action on your application.

I hope you get your NOA 2 in the next day or two.

Jared,

It is always nice to see someone genuinely happy as May was in the pic. I will be leaving somewhere around the 11th of May to be in Lapu-Lapu on the 13th which will be a week after the interview. I have an eight year old daughter who will not be going with me this time because of school. I think I will have sufficient help to take care of her for a week, I don't want to impose on people beyond that. I also have to have coverage for the animals as well. The most cost effective way for me is out of Newark via Continental. Since I have to book Cary a flight originating from Cebu, I may have to do that at the Continental site. I am having difficulty booking online for a flight that originates in Cebu with the usual suspects like Orbitz, BookingBuddy, etc. The only site that quoted an online price was Expedia.

You are absolutely right. If it wasn't for my daughter I would never have left there. I am in a business that if I have a phone and a computer I can work anywhere in the world. If I take Continental I go through Hong Kong but it appears on the return flight I may have a chance for a layover in Beijing. I would love to stop there and get my passport stamped. If we don't chat before you leave have a great flight.

Cary lives in Lapu-Lapu City, not to far from Cebu. I heard of Davao City, not sure where that is in relation to Manila or Cebu. Today I received a letter at my home addressed to Cary, originating from zip code 20166, with a return address for the Manila Embassy informing Cary that she is eligible for an interview. It appears to be a form letter except for her name, MNL number and type of visa.

That is a really cute pic of May holding the passport. Congratulations to you again, when are you leaving for your visit?

Hi everyone,

Is there a reason some of these embassies take so much time to finish the visa process? I am sad for all who seem to have had an extraordinary time getting their NOA 2's and now some number of months getting an interview. At this point I don't think I could visit Cary knowing the other thing holding us up from being together permanently was the interview. I admire everyone's patience, I know I don't have that much. When I called to schedule Cary's interview on April 14th, I could have had any day I wanted beginning April 27th through May. I have always assumed that more people had fiancees there then any place else on earth. There seemed to be many attorneys and service providers that catered specifically to the Philippines.

On a personal note, Cary completed and passed the physical today. Her interview is scheduled for May 6. Does anyone know any way of speeding up the delivery of the visa? They use a fedex type service called Air 21, I think I read it takes 7 to 10 business days for delivery. I feel very fortunate to have filed my visa application in December, we seem to have an inordinate number of people who are incredibly knowledgeable about this process and are so willing to share all with the rest of us. We seem to be the most active group looking at our page count versus other similar topic page counts. Again, thanks and good luck to all.

Well this morning ices it. I am going to have to fly to the Philippines and bring Cary here to the states. I get a call about 2 AM that apparently no one in Manila knows where the hotel is and the hotel is not answering their phone so I have been up since then canceling one hotel and paying another hotel. I also find out this is her first flight ever. I think she has a better chance of hitting the lottery then maneuvering through five airports in 36 hours, 24 of them actually in the air. My mind refuses to consider the consequences of missing one of these flights. All the flights I took there and back were booked solid. I think Jay is also considering it.

Thank you, everyone.

It didn't hit us quite yet. Maybe when the visa is in hand..

Interview was easy, all in all under 4 minutes, 5 questions and hour and a half of waiting for it to happpen.

I am beginning to believe that the State Department/Homeland Security has established a profile for the K1 program. Some many recently have posted no problem, quick interview few questions. I believe those who have posted those remarks are all in LTRs with their partners. It seems to me that those of us who have been in the relationship for a year or more or experiencing good interviewa. Oh well, just a thought.

To all those born again tidy guys, don't do it, its a big mistake. I agree pictures, momentos, etc. of past loves, real or imagined (Shakira), need to go but male clutter must stay. It is our birthright as males to not spend a lot of time in domestic endeavors. I made a video for Cary of life here including home, work, shopping areas, parks, etc. First words out of her mouth, you have a messy house. In the spirit of international relationships and harmony, I agreed with her. I told her she will have to come here and save me from a life of organizational disarray. Of course I got no credit for managing my corporation, nuturing my eight year old daughter who lives with me along with four cats and a German Shepherd. All with no outside help. I don't believe in day care and the house would have to be cleaned before I could get someone to clean it. The women here know what I mean. So I am asking again nay begging you, do not mess with the forces of nature, do the right thing.

Cary and Jim

Carefully crafted, tongue firmly in cheek.

Yeah, it looks like you're hot on our trail, just behind us on nearly every step by about a week! I think both of us are setting a good pace, slightly ahead of the average. Karen wants to fly here with me too, since the only time she's been on a plane was with me from Manila to Calbayog. I don't blame her -- those 14-hour flights are long and can be scary!

The Manila embassy says 5-10 business days to mail the passport back to the address listed, but I also read somewhere here on VJ that you can request to pick it up in person in only 2 days! I have not verified that yet, but it might be something you want to look into.

Same here about the questions -- I had to double-check her address, since I forgot the zip code! Karen still hasn't received her letter yet, but I'm pretty sure the Manila embassy sent it to her on April 7! But it was so hard sometimes to hear the Pinay at the U.S. Embassy, so I am not sure of the date they received her packet from the NVC or when they mailed out the letter.

Thanks! Good luck to Cary on her interview!

Yes, I remember 50 php/$1 US! Just to let you know, I use Xoom, which has lower fees than Western Union, and the rate last week was 44 php/$1 US. That rate still isn't great, but it's better than WU!

Hi Jay, I have no idea how to make these discussion boxes appear so I'll just answer the parts you wrote. Cary got the notice from the embassy I think on Friday. So I feel good about that. I was worried that the reason Jared's May's medical records got lost is that the interview was set before they sent the notice from the embassy and that's how the paperwork got messed up. This is pure speculation on my part. I was under the impression that to have the visa expedited you had to have some sort of an emergency. I have no idea what they would consider an emergency. If you are successful in doing it let me know. Cary is the same way, she lives outside of Cebu and has flown only once and that was Manila. I consider the shuttle from Philly to Newark to be the same equivilent. Three trip to Newark from Philly don't constitute a world traveler. I am going to get Cary, as you know that is quite a voyage getting there. If she misses a flight who knows how to fix that being so far away. I'm not going to be able to function while she is flying anyway so it is better for me to just go there and make sure nothing happens to her. I have began checking the various web sites for options. Prices are higher then they were last May and not many will book a flight that originates in Cebu (Cary's ticket), Expedia is the only one I found so far. I think I am going to fly Continental out of Newark. I can also get her a ticket at the continental web site and it was cheaper then the quote on Expedia. The hassle of trying to fly out of Philly is ridiculous. I'm not going to book the flight till she passes the interview. She doesn't want me to book the interview flight till she passes the physical. She worries about the money and would feel more pressure.

I also had a hard time hearing the girl while I was booking the interview, because of her accent and a bad connection. I kept having her repeat what she said. She did some check of the MNL number cause she did say it was approved to set an interview as of April 12th, I called the 14th. Maybe that is when the letter was sent. She didn't say anything to me about a letter. We purposely set the interview two weeks after the physical. We could have had any date from the 27th of April on to any day in May.

I started with Western Union, then went to Xoom because the fees for Xoom were much less. Then Cary's younger sister started talking to a guy, I think from Germany. Supposedly he had a brother working in India who he was having trouble sending money to so he was going to send money to the sister, she could keep some and then transfer the rest to the brother. Of course the sister gave the German Cary's information, I told Cary it was some kind of scam so to make a long story short Cary got barred from Xoom even though I was transferring money directly into her account at BDO bank so I had to go back to Western Union. I like Western Union because they transfer the money in US dollars at no additional charge. I know Xoom had an additional fee and it was so high it was not cost effective to transfer in dollars. Cary says there are problems now with Xoom, I have no idea what she means. Fees for Western Union are much less if you go to an authorized agent but most of the time I just go online and do it.

Is everyone experiencing our worthless dollar? When I met Cary in October, 2008, it was about 50 pesos to a dollar. According to Western Union the rate is 43.18. I know the actual is higher. I transfer in dollars cause WU is about a peso light per dollar and doesn't charge an additional fee, but still more then 10% against the Philippine peso?

Nope, still haven't located the medical files. I'm calling again tonight, and I will call every night. And if they still don't find them, I intend on stopping at the embassy the week I'm out there..

Jared, I know this is probably a really stupid question but would it be beneficial for May to do another physical. I mean, we are here, the medical center is about 8,000 miles away, how hard do you think they are looking for her medical records? I agree with you, I'd be on a plane quickly to help them look whether I was going there originally or not. I am going to call and attempt to get a case number for Cary, I have no idea what to expect. I do have every stitch of paper that has been sent, I have the NVC letter with the new MNL cae number on it, so I am expecting no real issues. How soon after you set the appointment do they send an Email to confirm the appointment and does the Email come to me or to Cary? I need to have a confirmation by next monday.

Wait a couple of days and call back. It takes up to two weeks sometimes.

It doesn't matter which one is yours, both were delivered already. But if I had to guess, the one with April 8th reference is yours.

Hi Captain,

I know you are traveling soon, have a safe trip. Am I reading this post correctly? Is there a way to track packages sent to embassies? I am trying to figure out when to call for an interview. According to NVC and Consulate General's office my package left for Manila on April 2nd. Beyond that the Consulate General conversation was a waste of time. I am trying to get the physical done next week, all of a sudden it appears that setting the interview appointment before the physical is a big deal so I would like to get that appointment date either this week or Monday of next week. Anyone else is welcome to help as well. I can't have enough feedback.

Congratualtions Jared. I know you know the answer to this. I called the 202-663-1225 number today. I had already learned that the file was sent electronically on April 2nd. The person I got was less then knowledgeable and redundit. She just kept repeating that the embassy would contact her when they are ready. So the question is, can I call the number pay the money and set an interview time without the embassy contacting her? How will you know when the embassy finds May's medical records? Just curious.

The number I have for the U.S. Embassy in Manila is +63 2 301 2000. But Friday, April 9th is a Philippine holiday called "Araw ng Kagitingan," and no one will answer the phone at the embassy. I am in the same boat as you, so we will have to wait until Monday to call. I advise to call between the hours of 8 and 10 a.m. Manila time, since a U.S. Embassy recording said they only answer non-immigrant visa questions during that time period.

Apparently, the Philippines does not issue a Packet 3, but here is the online version of Packet 4. Someone on here said that Manila doesn't mail this Packet out any more, so you can download this version and/or print it out. I assume Manila still mails confirmation of receiving the visa petition from the NVC.

Karen and Jay,

Your timeline looks a lot like ours. I met Cary online in October, I was there in July and August. The 202-663-1225 number is to the Consulant Generals office in the US. I am guessing that they monitor receipt of the visa files to the various embassys and perhaps the mailing of packet 3 although I have also been told here that Manila doesn't require a packet 3. To the best of my knowledge I think the only paper I have to complete is the Affidavit of Support. I have been scanning and Emailing anything I receive from a government agency so she has a copy of NOA 1 & 2 and the NVC notice just in case she needs them. She also has a complete copy of everything I sent initially to USCIS.

I am going to call the State Department, depending on how that conversation goes, I am going to try to schedule the interview. I will be spending this weekend in my office copying around 250 IM sessions. It is how we communicate. I didn't know anything at the time about this visa process so now I will use up a forest copying. I hope to send all my required documents out on Monday.

Where are you from? I am in the Philadelphia burbs.

Are you sure all my fiancee needs is the MNL# ? Do I need to send her a copy of the NOA2 or the NVC paper in which she was assigned an MNL# ?

I'm believing what Jared posts, he seems very knowledgeable about this whole process. Did you lady attend the seminar that is required for anyone leaving the country, mine is going on Monday. There is a stamp that they put on her passport showing attendance. I saw a posting on VJ about someone not having the stamp and getting stopped at the airport or actually boarding the plane. I wonder if he had to buy a new ticket.

Hi Everyone,

I got my notice from NVC today that my file has been sent to Manila as of April 2nd, that I got by calling them thanks to Jared, I think. Also again, I think thanks to Jared, I have another number to call tomorrow. The number I have is 202-663-1225. I should be able to learn if Manila has received my file and if packet 3 has been mailed to Cary. I am a little confused about packet 3. I think someone said the Manila embassy doesn't require a packet 3. I know I do have to complete an Affidavit of Support. Anything else connected with packet 3? In the NVC letter they provided a link to check for information, within that link was another link that took me to the Manila web site. Within that link was another link to check visa interview appointments. When I typed in my number, it gave me a message that the case number was not found. Does that mean our file has been processed in at Manila yet? Or it will just confirm an appointment when we have confirmed an interview date? When should I schedule the interview? I am pretty shore she can just go to the medical center any time for the physical. I hope I don't need anymore answers. I have also been supplied with many links, thanks to Mark and Carol. And of course, timely information from the Captain as well. To all thank you very much for your time and attention to my journey as well as the other visa seekers' journeys. I think for most of us we have a certain sense of this finally coming to a succcessful outcome.

I agree with you Jared, I am not waiting for the Manila embassy either. I am following your lead since your NOA 2 is a week before mine. For Cary to get to Manila she will have to fly. She will be meeting with the people we contracted with this weekend. I have already passed on her MNL number when I got it on Thursday. In their last Email there was a mention of a form that they were going to complete and Email to me for my signature and return with all the interview documentation that I have to provide. Are you doing this whole visa process by yourself or have you contracted with an agency or attorney for assistance? You, and many others, give out information which is dead on. I am amazed at how much information is generated and so accurate.

Curiosity question, how do you get your timeline to show on your posts? I use the one provided here which doesn't give much information. I also noticed on your timeline two dates for the physical. Is one for the day of the physical and one for notification of approval or something else?

Sorry to hear about your flooding problem in Connecticut. We have only see video of Rhode Island here outside of Philly. We had the most snow ever recorded here this past winter. There is apparently much beach erosion at the Jersey shore also. I hope the weather has calmed down and you can enjoy yourself.

Is there a computer tech in the house? My old computer broke, I bought a new computer. The data from the old computer has been transferred to my new computer however it is not migrated into the files on my new computer. I despreately need to migrate my Yahoo Messenger archived messenges together so I can open them and print them. I am a computer illiterate. I did get an Email from Yahoo support they recommended uninstalling messenger and reinstalling it. I don't see how that is going to migrate my old IMs to the new IMs. I am also terrified to lose the archives, I am a dead man, it is where all my contact with Cary is stored. The old IMs have a .dat file extension. A conversion program was found that will display the IM but it has "urfriend" instead of Cary's screen name on the text. I suspect "urfriend" is just a generic screen name. Anyone experience this before or have any suggestions, all will be appreciated. Thanks.

I've been working on a flooded basement for two days now...

Manila "sometimes" sends instructions, but it's not worth waiting for.. Call about 1-2 weeks after the NVC sends to Manila to schedule your interview. You just need your MNL# to find out more info.

Also, send your fiance(e) off to St Luke's for the medical now... Again it just requires the MNL #, and then you're in really good shape. Get St Luke's over with in case they decide that a sputum test is necessary..

Good Luck/God Bless.

Try this link to the US Embassy in Manila: http://manila.usemba...niv1.html#Step1
They don't require a Packet 3, just a Packet 4 with DS-156 & DS-157. You must fill out online and print.

Try this link also: http://www.visajourn...ines&cty=Manila

Good luck.

Thanks Carol and Mark, those links were perfect. Cary is meeting with our helpers this week in Cebu probably to complete the forms. I have a laundry list of copying to do. Thanks again for the information.

Jared would be better equipped to answer that question. It's consulate specific, and I don't know how Manila operates

Thanks Captain, Jared are you listening? Do you know? I'm sure you do you seem to be so on top of everything.

Is it sent via mail or Email?

About a week after you find out that the NVC has mailed your petition to the embassy in Manila, call DOS @202-663-1225 x1, x0 to talk to a live person. They can tell you when the embassy received your petition and whether they have mailed the Packet 3. They will ask for your case #, the beneficiary's name, and your name.

Thanks for the information. Will the packet 3 come to me in the US?

The MNL number is your new case number. This is the number you will use when making ANY inquiries about your case in the future. The "MNL" simply denotes that the case is for the embassy in Manila. For example, our case begins with MOS, because our case is going to the Moscow embassy. I would continue to phone the NVC, as they have recently not been taking so long to forward cases to the embassies. Eventually, one of the times you phone them they will tell you that the case has been forwarded to the embassy. I know that every time I phoned NVC I was given different answers to questions, different information, etc. EXCEPT when they actually sent it to the embassy, they told me that they had forwarded the case to the embassy. The first time I phoned NVC I was told that they would have our case for 2 weeks, but they sent our case to the embassy in only 3 days. Keep calling them, it will not do any harm to check frequently Posted Image

Hey thanks for the innformation, so far my questions have been routine. Nothing really bad has happened. I will worry till her green card is normal. I had tried to phone the NVC but always had a busy signal, I tried this time just for the heck of it at work and it worked. I am sure I got standard answers. Once I gave her the standard answers, she gave me the file receipt day, the MNL number and the caned response regarding time in NVC. I may try again but I have so much copying to do and a problem with Morgan Stanley. Morgan Stanley decides unilaterally that after January, 2010 they are now only sending quarterly statments to save money. I almost chocked my account exec through the phone. I have been with them for 17 years. So Monday he is suppose to figure out how to get me a February and March statement. The other more time consuming activity that I have is all of our communication has been through Yahoo messenger (and hand written letters). I have archived about 250 sessions of about 2 to 3 hours each. I am told to print everyone of those sessons. Fortunately or unfortunately I lost about 150 sessions cause I didn't know I could save them. The good news is I am in a paper intensive business so we have a high speed printer but I know this is going to be at least 1,000 sheets of paper. My fiancee is only 4'10", she's going to need a wagon for the interview.

Hi Everyone,

Congratulations, as always, to everyone on the progress they are making. It is good so many people post their achievement information it is helpful in planning what to do next. We December filers seem to be more chatty than our CSC counterparts. I hope I have an easy question. I received in my hand the NOA 2 on March 25th, I was lucky enough to get through to the NVC yesterday. The informaion I received is they received my file on March 31st and it takes about two weeks to get to the Manila Embassy and she didn't know the processing time in Manila, she also gave me a MNL number. Do I do anything with that number or it a tracking number for the embassy? Is there a way to track progress using that number? Thanks in advance for the help.

Cary and Jim

It's an "Alien number". Something that you will be using on many other forms until she gets her citizenship.

Thanks, as always. How are things with you? Try the Willow Inn yet?

Hi Everyone,

We also got the hard copy of our NOA 2. I noticed there is a number of my fiancee's name beginning with an "A". I am sure everyone but me knows what the number means. LOL

OK, can someone PLEASE tell me if that number means anything, she is the Beneficiary. Thanks.

Call the NVC in a day or so to find out your NVC Case #... 603-334-0700

Follow Mapt's instructions below:
==============================

Ok, just a little sidenote, for everyone who calls NVC in the future - you HAVE to talk to an operator.
K-1s are not entered into their automated response system.

So when calling, press 2 (for non-Haiti related case), 1 for English, 5 for an operator. Then you will be placed on hold.

Have your EAC/WAC number ready. Your beneficiary's DOB and name, and your DOB and name. Emails for both and your phone #.

================================

After that it'll be a few days and then you can call the embassy and schedule the interview. Congrats, we're almost there!

Thanks Jarad and May. Have you scheduled the interview and physical? This is not Cary's night, her cam is not working and she is experiencing a black out. When I got that touch this afternoon all this suddenly became real to me. Then I started with did I miss anything? was I truthful? Thank goodness they didn't decide to torture me for a couple of days or the weekend. I don't know what I would have done. I'll post how I make out.

CONGRATS!!  The VSC will forward your petition to NVC. In about 3 days, call the NVC to see if they received your petition and if so, request your new case #. The number for NVC was provided in an earlier post. NVC will then mail your petition to the appropriate embassy.
What you can do now is get ready for the interview...gather all your evidence and have your SO apply for police report and start completing the proper documents.

Good luck.

Thanks for your sentiments. Any idea where to get this phone number for NVS? Do I already have it somewhere. I assume 3 days are work days, so like next Tuesday or Wednesday?

We are working with someone located in Cebu, Philippines so I think most if not all the paper gathering except my financial information has already been collected.
I have already forwarded the Email to their office and I am waiting for a response. It is 11 AM tomorrow there. How bazaar is that.
