I-134 FORM

I SENT MINE NOT NOTORIZED,NOW IM WORRY ABOUT IT,WE HV OUR INTERVIEW ON FEB18TH,MY DOCUMENT ARE ON THERE WAY TO PHILIPPINES.
HERE IS WHAT THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY:IF YOU ARE SPONSORING MORE THAN ONE ALIEN,YOU MUST SUBMIT A SEPARATE FORM I-134 FOR EACH ALIEN.YOU MUST SIGN FORM I-134 IN YOUR FULL NAME[NOTE:SIGNING FORMI-134 IS UNDER PENALTY OF PERJURY UNDER U.S. LAW] FOR THIS REASON,IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO SIGN FORM I-134 BEFORE A NOTORY,NOR TO HAVE YOUR SIGNATURE NOTORIZED AFTER YOU SIGN IT.FORM I-134 INSTRUCTIONS[10/30/08]

THERE IS NO PLACE ON THE NEW FORM TO HAVE IT NOTORIZED.
I JUST SIGNED MY NAME AND DATED IT..
ANY COMMENTS.....

What's highlighted is pretty much what is meant. My SO did her interview with the new form and I didn't have it notorized, as it stated it didn't need to be. I wouldn't worry about it.

Good luck with the interview!!!

its sad to see people who live on the streets here...everytime i see homeless people here i feel sorry for them..it makes me think maybe if they are in the pi they wont be homeless but instead they would be able to have even a small house to live..

its not easy to live here if you dont have a job or if you dont earn enough to pay for everything or even buy food..i see people who collect cans in garbage cans and sell them for 50 cents each can...and some of them are filipino..maybe people in the pi are thinking wow you are now in usa...but not knowing they just collect cans here..i know there are also people who dont want to live in a house or have a job because they dont want to spend money.

now i understand the reason why the embassy wants the petitioner to meet the poverty guideline coz living here in usa is not as easy living in pi.

and oh my god..when me and my husband went to a store..we saw a bracelet that cost 4 dollars here but in the pi its only 10pesos..just an example.

Welcome to the US of A.. my pamilya in Phils think that way every time I go home to visit.. they think I'm rollin in $$$.. they jst don't know how much it cost to live in the US, if you don't have a good job, it's hard.. haaay..

I had to tell them what are all my bills I have to pay.. and they just looked @ me like.. #######?.. hehehe.. especially after I told them how much rent or morgage payments can range here.. toinks!!

But I still love them no matter what.. good.gif

Thanks Kabayan..It is really confusing,, i know it is I- 864 that I need but some say I need the I -134 so just wanna make sure I will have d right one.

So What affidavit of support would I need??For I -130 Petition for Alien Relative( My hubby is the petitioner for my kids as his stepchildren) ..the I 864? or the I -134?

WOuld appreciate more ideas. Thanks.

Go to the top of the form and click on "Downloads" and look for the step that you are on now, from your profile, it looks like your AOS.. so this would be the link for you: http://www.visajourn...adjustmentforms I don't see the I-134 mentioned in there, as I mentioned before, the K-1 visa should be the only one using the I-134 during the interview process..

Also, check out the link up top "Example Forms" and it will also show you form you will need that is related to what process you're at good.gif

PhilippinesWhy are some USEM Staff so rude?
QUOTE (Brian and Jopay @ Feb 25 2009, 05:48 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I wasnt jumping the gun, and I AM the petitioner. This American immigration officer was VERY rude, and she should find a different line of work.

Thank God not everyone at the USEM was like she was.

I have an EXTREMELY stressful job in health care, working day in and day out, 16 hours a day with alzheimers patients, and so I know what stressful is, and I also know how to be considerate and helpful, no matter the stress.

Brian in Tennessee

I didn't say you in particular was jumping the gun and I know you were the petitioner, but you also stated you 'pressed' the issue, so I'm sure you also started to irritate the staff that was mearly stating the facts from what you gave her/him as the requirements for obtaining the clearance from Indonesia. Just consider yourself to be a better person for handling stress better than the one you talked to...

But I guess my point was, after getting frustrated with her, you should of done what you did @ the end in the first place, call the Indonesian department that was responsible for giving police clearance and see if they could help you out.

All n all, things are all done and your on your way to being together and hope no more stumbles along the way!

QUOTE (MikeeLucyForever @ Feb 24 2009, 06:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Im sorry to disagree. Saying you don't know is different from giving wrong information and being rude is not an excuse too.

Oh, I agree somewhat with your OP, I was more responding to Brian and Jopay.. but on the same note, ppl will have bad days, and you probably got them on one of those days.. I'm sure it's ruff for them to get so many phone calls a day and hearing alot of the same questions over and over and even from ppl that don't have their cases there yet and are probably calling them up on a daily basis..

Alot of ppl jump the gun, cus they want to get things done.. and it's understandable.. but like alot of ppl also been saying, they seem to be more nice to the petitioner, due to them being a USC.. that's why I didn't have my fiance call them once if there was something we needed to know or find out, I call, and they always treated me nice and always got the answers I needed..

Hope things go better on the rest of your journey and you get your visa soon...

PhilippinesWhy are some USEM Staff so rude?
QUOTE (Brian and Jopay @ Feb 24 2009, 03:54 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Well, my Filipina wife lived and worked in Indonesia for just under a year. Indonesia required her to appear IN PERSON to get the police report! I called the US Embassy and asked them what they suggest to do as well, and they told me "I guess she will just have to go to Indonesia!" How stupid! I mean, there has to be another way.... Anyways, I pressed the issue, and the woman also told me that I would have to figure it out for myself. I lost my temper... Isnt it HER job to know the answers?? She asked for our names...

Anyways, after hours on the phone with the embassy, I finally decided to try to call the Indonesian Consulate in the Philippines, and a man there with the title of "International Police Officer" was so nice. He had a friend in Indonesia, and he made all the arrangements for us, had my wife come to see him, and through the mail he got her the police report as well as took care of getting her the the Filipino National Police Record.

In the end, all was well. She passed hehr interview and will be with me May 3rd.

I think we spoke with the same woman at the embassy... how heartless she was...

Brian in Tennessee

I've spoke to them a couple of times already, and I've never had any attitude once from them. From scheduling the interview, to calling and talking to Lorane(not sure if that's how you spell her name whistling.gif ) and Grace with no problem. They've actually put me on hold so they could talk to the CO for the correct answers.. but has to do with US embassy questions... not other embassy questions requirements, just becuase they work there, doesn't mean they have to have ALL the answers..

If you knew that Indonesia required you to appear in person, you should of just called them up and see if there was something else they could do for you, as this was not a US matter.. it's an Indonesian matter, they make the rules for their requirements, not the US. You would of saved lots of time and frustration going to them first.. consider it a lesson learned I guess..

And you have to realize, it's the US Embassy, they will cater to the US Citizen before catering to locals calling in, especially if you're trying to call the line that is stated for US citizens to use..

All n all, glad everything turned out great for you and your fiance... best wishes to you both..

QUOTE (charlie&pam @ Sep 14 2009, 12:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I was just getting ready to sent the paper work in and of coarse I want to make sure everything is good when I was reading more in the forums. I was reading that they get notified through email when the paperwork is recieved so that they can set up their medicals and interview. How does the embassy get that information I am readying through everything (all the paperwork) and cant find out where it goes???? I don't want to mail it with out knowing this last little thing....please help I am worried enough as it is .....Thanks VJr's!!!

When I recieved the NOA2 and I called the USEM to schedule the appointment, I gave them the email of my fiance(they will ask for it so they can send her the appointment info, on top of a letter in the mail to her). If you call or if your fiance calls to schedule the appointment, they will ask you for some personal info to make sure it's really you are and then they will asked for the email address.

Hi, everyone! I would like to know which is the best prepaid line to use in the USA? Globe, Smart or Sun? Currently, I'm using a Globe prepaid line, but I'm wondering if it's the best for roaming? unsure.gif And how will I reload abroad? Thanks in advance! smile.gif

Any will be fine. I had a dual-SIM phone(got it @ Green Hills whistling.gif ), and I had both Smart and Globe #s. Just make sure you activate Roaming before leaving Pinas. Go to each website to see how long they last before you have to extend the roaming services, usually 180/days.

If you want to reload your phone online, go to https://www.aryty.com/DefaultWB.aspx and create an account and you can load all 3 carriers from online. It's good if you have families back in Pinas that you want to load their phones as well...

Hope that helps!!

PhilippinesName Change After Marriage

Well, not really. My wife began using her former last name as her middle name after marriage. There really was no place on our marriage license to indicate your new last name. She signed it using her new middle and last names however. We applied for AOS using the desired new middle name. At AOS, the officer said we could not change the middle name and the green card was issued with her original middle name. We would of had to change it legally through the circuit court. We decided we had had enough hassels with all the AOS paperwork etc. and decided to not change it legally. We had already changed her middle name on bank accounts and SS card so we had to change those back.

I guess it depends on the officer doing the interview. We just had our interview on April 13th, the officer didn't mention anything about her dropping her mom's maiden name and moving her fathers last name as her middle name and taking my last name. Maybe she didn't say anything cus we're both Filipino   Heck, the interview for her AOS felt like I was just there to BS with her and we actually laughed at some of the answers I gave during the interview. BTW, it was stranged that during the interview, the officer didn't care who answered the questions she was asking, as I was doing most of the answering.

If it were me, I would do it the way you want it, keep with the tradition, and if it comes up, explain to her/him why.

PhilippinesDual Citizenship

No, but you cannot renew it until you do the oath ceremony to re-acquire your philippine citizinship. It's a simple ceremony that can be done at the Philippines embassies here in the U.S. or on a return trip to the Philippines. From what I've read here and online doing my own research it is a requirement to re-obtain your Philippines citizinship once you have naturalized to the U.S. It's something to do with the wording of the oath when becoming a U.S. citizen, I can't remember the specifics.

So this is the Allegiance, and the bold the part that renounce all other allegiance..

I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.[1]

While there is no specific law in the U.S. barring dual citizenship, one can be found to have renounced their citizenship if they become a citizen of a foreign country after being a citizen of the U.S. This rarely happens, but has in the (fairly distant) past. Therefore, it is also possible for the original U.S. spouse to become a dual citizen of the U.S. and Philippines as well. I plan to do that as well as have Vicky being a dual citizen, I plan to also do the same later in life.

And this is the oath to regain your Phils citizenship back, without, renouncing your US citizenship.

"I,________________, solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines and obey the laws and local orders promulgated by the duly constituted authorities of the Philippines, and I hereby declare that I recognise and accept the supreme authority of the Philippines and will maintain true faith and allegiance thereto, and that I impose this obligation upon myself voluntarily without mental reservation or purpose of evasion."

I'm also looking to get my dual-citizenship status as well...

PhilippinesAOS interview question
Actually, you both have to be at the interview(says so on the notice  ) General questions are how you met, how many times you've visited, etc.. but alot of the questions will have to do with your situation. If you're divorce, have kids, etc.. they are going to ask about those specifics...

Other than that, bring pictures and be able to explain the pictures if questioned. My asawa's interview, was pretty quick and I did most of the answering as she didn't care who answered

Just try to bring what they recommend you to bring on the AOS interview notice and you should be all good..

Umm.. the sari-sari and other stuff you ask for your area... can't help you with that as I'm not from there.. Just google for Pinoy related stuff around your area...

I don't know - Jollibee is no different than McDee's or another fast food chain, other than it originated in the Philippines (by a Chinese businessman). I realize it's become iconic with Filipino culture, but the food tastes like your typical fast food variety. I'd much rather have an authentic Filipino restaurant open up in town than a Jollibee.

I totally agree.. They built one up here in the Northwest...and I still haven't gone in... Give me Inasal restaurant anytime...althought.. Jollibee did buy out a big stake in Inasal... hmmm...

PhilippinesBringing Mother-in-law to USA for long visit?

To you it might be "pretty clear" but to the Consular Officer providing child care is work.

I am not looking for "an excuse for terrorizing a grandmother for visiting her grandchild." She can visit. She cannot provide care as a nanny. There is a big difference between visiting my family and coming to the US with the intention to provide child care.

Don't you think the OP should know how difficult it is to bring a nanny to the US? Should he not also know that family member have been denied visitor visas for saying they intend to provide child care when they get to the US? Or perhaps, I should just give them the rosy scenario because the Consular Officers always see things from the family's point of view???

I don't think anywhere did the OP say "Nanny"... he was just asking about bringing 'Nanay'.. which is different, google it if you don't know Tagalog... :innocent:

You're reading too much into what the OP is asking, unless he specifically stated he was bringing "Nanay' to provide some kind of care, then I would think they are wanting her to be there for the childs birth and time to spend with the baby and daughter for the first couple months...

But, from the counselor's view, that's probably what they are thinking the situation will be, that the "Nanay" will end up being a "Nanny".. unless, like other's have posted, she can prove she has ties back home that will make her come back...

It would be nice if we can get to know each other's members here with the same timeline.

Will appreciate anyone who can enlighten our worries. Thanks in advance...

When I sent mine(end of July), it took less than a week for them to cash my check, but I got my NOA just a couple of days later. I wasn't worried cus I went online to check the back of my check to get my WACxxxxxx number for my petition.

A buddy of mine, just turned his in on the last week of August and his check cleared on Sept. 5th, and he got his NOA 1 a couple of days later.

Hopefully u get yours soon. But yeah, if it was paid for by a personal check, look online with the bank and see if they photo copy it and have it for you to view, and hopefully they did a good job of copying it(my buddies copy online was horrible).

On your status online, does it have your name? Is it possible that you misread the WAC #? You should get the hard copy NOA1 any day now so that should confirm for you if there was, in fact, an error.

It does not have my name. Does it usually have one's (petitioner's) name?

No, the online status will not show your name, as this is what it will say @ the top:

Receipt Number: WAC08XXXXXXXX

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Case received and pending.

Just wait to get your hard copy in the mail and you should be fine. If you really want to make sure you got the right #, you can call your bank and have them mail you a copy of it or see if they can get a better read on the back of your check.

My hard copy took about a week to get to me after my check was cashed.... so I would just wait.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow reliable is Igor's List?
Igor's list is ok, as some ppl were in the 100's and ended up gettn their NOA2's... alot of it has to do with ppl updating their timeline.. which don't happen as much it should, but it does get updated....

Remember, that list is just for ppl on VJ that enter a timeline, as it's not for all the ppl who have turned in a petition. I use it more of a guage of what months the Service Centers are working on since the USCIS own website seems to never be accurate...

But, it is fun to watch your name go up, then down, then up again.... nothing like a roller-coaster ride..

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-797C Notice of Action
QUOTE (moparmusclecars @ Dec 16 2008, 09:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I sent in the I-129F on Dec 6th, on Dec 8th my packet was rec'd in California. My check was cashed on Dec 10th, and today (Dec 16th) I rec'd the I-797C Notice of Action. I am fairly new here so I apologize in advance if my question seems stupid, but isn't this my first NOA1? I have been trying to learn how to do my timeline, but I want to make sure I'm doing this right. The I-797C is just a receipt notice, correct? Thanks

That is correct, this is your first NOA, the second one is your NOA#2, which tells you if you have been approve or not and that they send your petition to NVC. From NVC, it goes to the embassy of your SO country where the interview is going to happen.

Good luck with you journey and just be ready for a good wait...

Visiting your SO doesn't mean only coming to the US, how about visiting them in their country if you have the money so they won't risk getting denied and wasting the $1500 for the trip.. whistling.gif

Just got back from Brazil on the 17th of Nov. I've spent a month there this year but you only get so much vacation....

All I'm saying is cut people a break. If you think someone sounds down in a post or negative, say something to help 'em feel better. They could just as easily argue that you are emotionally cold and distant as opposed to "mature and better able to deal with stress" given your posts here. Plus you've got to expect flack when you pop in to a thread 4 months after it started and tell people you don't know how they should behave.

I know, I know, I said I was going to leave the thread, but forgot to clear my subscription to the thread..toinks!! I try to leave, but ppl keep pulling me back in.. whistling.gif

Corinthians, please do a search before posting something like that(in bold,)... I was a part of this thread since page 19 whistling.gif My first post on this thread.. I don't like being misrepresented blush.gif .. and I don't frequent VJ like alot of folks do, as my free time is usually preoccupied with something else.. and like I said, sometimes ppl don't take being told how it is too well, I don't mind pampering ppl once, but when it's constant, just reminds me of a kid not getting their way and throwing a fit.. very unmature for an adult to be acting.. and if you think I should expect ppl to give me flack cus you assumed I've never been on this thread and decided to post after 4/months, then I got as much right to call ppl out on how they are acting... good.gif cus lately alot of ppl been expressing their right for some reason.. whistling.gif

BTW.. congrats on your trip and hope you had a hell of a time while you were there!

On that note, to quote Bob Marley 'One Love, One Heart, lets get together and feel alright!' ....

Ingats!!

Ok, I unsubscribed from this thread now.. good luck to everyone else still waiting and wishing everyone speedy approvals before the next holiday break that USCIS employees take for Christmas..

I agree about the border thing. I wish they'd give some sort of provisional paper that takes the uncertainty out of travel while this is going on. We could afford extra trips but who wants to roll the dice with $1500 and get turned away because a customs agent didn't get their coffee that morning.

iahmjpinoyDo you read your posts before you hit the Add Reply button?

Corinthians, yes I do read my post before I hit "Add Reply" button, otherwise my post would REALLY offend alot of ppl that don't like getting straight talk unsure.gif . I like to think that we're all adults and don't need our hands held cus we can't handle the short separation that we are going thru.... I'm sure everyone had a 'life' before meeting their SO, did that all of a sudden go away and now your life only revolves around your SO??? whistling.gif Sometimes tough love is hard to swallow when you keep feeling self pitty for yourself cus you're not getting what you want as you watch other ppl getting theirs... In real life, life is never fair....

Visiting your SO doesn't mean only coming to the US, how about visiting them in their country if you have the money so they won't risk getting denied and wasting the $1500 for the trip.. whistling.gif

Seriously, I just want to thank the ppl that gave me 'congrats' and in a way wish I didn't post my approval as it seemed to cause a lot 'moaing' by others..

Good luck to everyone and happy holidays... and speedy approvals to everyone!!! As I'll be leaving this thread as it seems more ppl are getting depress/upset as they see others getting approved, which is pretty sad...(yeah-yeah, I know, YOU have the RIGHT.. headbonk.gif )

Soooo just to clarify IYO if circumstances have allowed you to see your SO during the petition process this stops your right to moan at the unfair way that applications are approved?? unsure.gif

IMO It is human nature to whilst being pleased that someone has the NOA2 to feel insanely jealous that it's not yourself.
There is support in abundance in this thread for ALL the JULY filers, but freedom of speech does allow us to voice our opinions whilst they may not be everyones opinions.

Lets hope the approvals start rolling in for all, especially for those that have sat in this July waiting room together for so long offering support & advise when needed! whistling.gif

Well, I actually had another chance to go back for 2/weeks, but decided my time off and money would be better suited to be used after she got her visa in hand. Everyone has the freedom of speech and voice/moan all they want about how unfair the way applications are approved, but some ppl just act like their life is going to end if it doesn't happen quickly. Some ppl will get lucky and get approved before the 6/months time frame, but trying to say ppl are not doing their job when they are not even over that 6/month processing period as stated by USCIS unsure.gif whistling.gif , IMO is just funny(I myself wasn't expecting my approval till Jan, even though Igor was stating Dec. and I've been looking @ the average of 4/months for alot of ppl).... I guess that's where stress handling & maturity level comes into play, some ppl have a better handle on it than others, IMO....

But on the same note, sometimes having too much time on your hand can drive you crazy... and seeing ppl get approve b4 you can push your buttons even more.. but with anything, I have a job that takes up most of my time and I also keep myself busy with family and friends, life goes on....

Wishing everyone a speedy approval b4 the holidays are over.... now excuse me while I go fight the morning madness @ the stores and try to get some holiday deals!!!!

Oh and I see you've been approved BTW, filed after most of us in here and approved before most of us so its very easy for you to be all self righteous and sing the praises of probably the slowest and most unorganized govt dept known to man/woman.
Just exercising my right to moan cos I can ! Off-Topic2.gif

I agree, everyone has the right to moan cus they can unsure.gif and when ppl post on here to give praise or advice or something positive, I personally don't think they are acting all self righteous as you stated. I don't think anyone is purposely coming in here and sticking their tongue out @ ppl cus they got approved and others haven't yet...

This thread was started for all July filers to come together and support each other thru the process, and lately, since ppl in July are getting approved, we see the other side of ppl and they're crying foul, come on, if you know they are the most unorganized govt. dept known to man/woman, you shouldn't be surprised when other ppl get approved before you.. as I've stated b4, their FIFO system is broke, and their could be other reasons for the hold up of peoples petitions... no one knows but the ppl working @ USCIS...

I've sat thru phone calls of my SO crying cus she missed me that much, so I know how it feels, I haven't seen her for almost 7/months and probably will not until she gets approved... but you on the other hand have had 2 visits and quite lengthy ones as where alot of ppl that got approved or still waiting haven't seen their SO for a long time, but yet you make it seem likes it's so unfair other ppl are getting approved before you.... you should be happy that you @ least have seen each other a couple times already while waiting on your petition to get approved...

Anyways, we should all just support ALL the JULY filers and wish them speedy approval whether we've been approved yet or not... cus reading a couple of the post after I posted about my approval kinda made me wish I didn't even post about my approval... but then again, someone would of moaned about how come no one is getting approved and start ripping into USCIS for not working fast enough cus no one is posting about getting approved... headbonk.gif

Ok, that's the end of my rant, cus I can wink.gif

BEST WISHES TO EVERYONE AND HOPING EVERYONE GETS APPROVED SOON!!!!!

07/23/08 - Sent I-129F
07/25/08 - Recieved by CSC
07/29/08 - CSC sent out NOA
07/30/08 - I-797, NOA notice date
07/31/08 - Check Cashed
08/03/08 - Touched
08/05/08 - NOA#1 Hard copy recieved
11/26/08 - NOA#2 APPROVED in 119/days!! WHOO-HOO!!

Although I am happy for those who are approved I do sometimes let the jealous bug bite us. It is very fustrating because I have not seen Kai for 1.5 years now face to face. I get scared because what if it has been to long and they say NOPE SORRY..why did you not visit sooner...WELL MONEY YOU KNOBHEADS!!! DUH had I had money ..you bet we would be traveling every damn month!
It gets fustrating that they do not do it in order and I do not think it is fair!
YES I am very happy for you that got yours as YOU miss your loved ones as well. I just hate the fact that i see people who get to visit or get an NOA2 and I want to bawl...
BUT I know he will be home by feb I wont expect anything less then that..I wont HE WILL BE HOME IN FEB!!

I'm sorry rose.gif heart.gif , I'm not an August Filer, my NOA date is July 30th, I just happen to recieve it in the mail in August. I know how frustrating it feel, as I was seeing ppl @ the VSC getting approvals and they are August Filers..

Don't want ppl getting more stressed out than they already are, it's hard to see ppl getting approved when they sent theirs in after you have..

I have an overwhelming desire to choke the life out of someone at USless for playing God with my life

Mmm that's my rant over, guess i'll now go back to playing with my voodoo doll and waiting patiently

Yes, I understand how it feels, one reason I didn't post much here, just did a lot of lurking when I got the time, otherwise it would of took a heavier toll on me..

Their FIFO system is not working right wacko.gif , as I got approved b4 other ppl that send theirs in.. and for people to see that, I can relate how it can be frustrating.. crying.gif

All I can say is hang tight and keep yourself busy on other things.. I for one didn't check the USCIS site until I started seeing July filers getting their approvals..

Happy Turkey day!!!
