K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 vs IR1
I was trying to decide myself if i was going to file an I-129F after I mailed my I-130 petition. But I was under the impression that K3 visas were created in order to get your spouse and children to the US faster while waiting for the I-130 to be approved at USCIS. So what I wanted to ask is: does it make a difference (in terms of processing speed) to choose either to pursue your IR1/CR1 or K3 if both were already approved at USCIS? Or am I mistaken and that K3 visas process faster than IR1/CR1's at NVC and at the Embassy??

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresActual wait times from filing the I-130 to approval of the petition..
Yup, that's exactly what I plan to do when everything is set in motion. Being able to see other petitioners' timelines would definitely come in handy for me when the time comes. Thanks for the quick reply ^^.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresActual wait times from filing the I-130 to approval of the petition..
First of all, just wanna say hi to everyone! This is officially my first post, haha. These forums have been a gold mine of information for me. I'm about to get married to my college sweetheart of 4 years and have been researching the immigration process for quite some time now. Just reading everyone's posts has been very helpful for me, and for that I give my thanks biggrin.gif.

Anyways, I just wanted to ask about the actual length of time in takes for a I-130 petition to be processed. I've viewed the processing wait times for each of the USCIS's service centers and saw that typical proccesing wait time for IR-1 is 6 months on average. But when I see everyone's siggys, i see I-130s being approved in 3 months, sometimes as less as 31 days! What's the deal? Are the USCIS's estimates that off?? Just wanted to get everyone's input. Thanks in advance ^^.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPCC AND NBI CLEARANCE!!!HELP...
There's been a lot of confusion regarding this matter. If you check out the link here you would see that the Philippine NBI Clearance is the official document required by the NVC for police clearance purposes. Nowhere in there does it say you have to include local police certificates. The NBI is considered more valid than local PNP police certificates since it has nationwide jurisdiction. I know this because I've filed the DS-230 documents for my mom's brothers and sisters. The NBI clearance is all I've included in each packet, with no RFEs issued. The cases we're approved. Now unless the NVC finds something suspicious with the application and may need additional information, maybe perhaps then they would issue an RFE and request for local PNP police certificates, but I haven't encountered such a case personally.

I just feel this needs to be clarified because some people may find it hard to obtain local police certificates if for instance they've moved from previous locations that may be far away, or worse, if he's been in many locations since age 16, which would be a really big time-consuming task.

Then again, some people want to be thorough and proactive. No harm in including local PNP police certificates for each city you've lived in since age 16, just to cover all your bases. Just saying that it may not be necessary.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat's the deal with USCIS to NVC
Same here as well, NOA2 on September 30. It's been almost 2 weeks and they still don't have an NVC number for my case yet. The operator I talked to also said it can take up to 90 days, completely offsetting what short time it took for me to get my I-130 approval (21 days) ...*sigh*... hope it enters the NVC system soon!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCurrent lengths of visa validity, still 6 months?
Quick question for a quick answer =D!! Unless things have changed, I've been aware that the usual validity of issued visas are 6 months, meaning you have to leave for the US within 6 months or else it'll become invalid. But I've been hearing from other people that they've considerably shortened it to 2 months. Just need to hear from others here who have recently gotten their visas or have knowledge of others who have. Thanks!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC URL/login
Technically there really isn't any logon page to check on the status of your case while in the NVC process. What they have is the automated voice message wherein you call the NVC phone number (1-603-334-0700), give your case number, and follow the prompts.

This logon page https://ceac.state.g...ice/signon.aspx is basically the online payment system wherein you can pay the immigration visa application fee and the affidavit of support fee bills. However, other members here who have submitted all their documents and are awaiting for their case to be complete still logon to the page until they get a "login failed" message, and once that happens it would mean that the billing info has been cleared from their systems and their case may have been completed and pending transfer to the respective embassy/consulate.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurescheck been cash but not NOA1 yet
I'm in the same boat, the USCIS number is kinda hard to read out on the check image on mine too. One of the numbers is badly distorted, so I just did trial and error on that digit. Two of the numbers pointed out to an I-130 file and receive date of 9/9/09, haha. I guess I wouldn't know which of those two receipt numbers are really mine until I get my own NOA1 hardcopy as well tongue.gif.
