2) Since you are now at the CSC, you must look at the people who filed at the VSC with contempt....their NOA2 is approved in about 30 days.


You know the logical thing to do would be to distribute the cases more uniformly so that the service centers had closer processing times. I mean, if one service center is overloaded, you'd think they'd try sending more to the one finishing applications in 30 days. I wonder why this hasn't been done.

I just received noticed that my I129F was approved on March 7! My NOA1 date was December 7, 2005, so that was 90 days exactly through CSC. I'm so happy now, I could explode! What a wonderful present for my fiancee and I for Women's Day!! (March 8th is celebrated as International Women's Day in many countries, for those who were wondering...) :)

Ok, I wasn't certain if sending a money order helped, but I knew it wouldn't hurt. I tried to cut every possible corner to save time. I even sent my petition in using Express Mail, figuring it was worth the extra $13 to save a couple days processing time!

Income is really the only important thing that they look at. As long as you have a steady job and can substantiant that with paystubs and a copy of your W2 from the prior year, and are making above the minimum guidelines, you're good to go. Debt and things like child support payments aren't part of the equation.

Wow Mike & Yoyo, your situation sounds almost identical to mine! My fiancee was here back in July, 2006 and she also had to leave after about 2 weeks, primarily because of medical problems with her grandmother. So we never did get married, but we knew we definitely wanted her to come back after things were straightened out with her family.

In November, 2006 I filed another I-129F application and requested an IMBRA waiver, and we just got the NOA2 a couple days ago! Trust me, I was very worried it could get denied, but it went though just fine with no RFE or anything.

I don't know about the 90 day rule, but I'd say you can go ahead and start the process for another K1 visa now.

I think a woman taking her husband's last name is more tradition then anything else. Legally it doesn't matter what either person's last name is or if they are the same, etc. It's tradition just like a man buying an engagement ring for his fiancee when he proposes to her.

So a woman saying "I love you darling, and I want to marry you and be together with you forever, BUT I don't want to take your last name" is the equivalent of a man saying "I love you darling, and I want to marry you and be together with you forever, BUT I do not plan to buy you an engagement ring!" :innocent:

Eleen, actually I kinda like what you man says, and in a way it makes sense! If I was moving to Russia to be with my fiancee instead of the other way around, I would very well consider taking her name. It is a good way to blend in with the national culture, plus it identifies you as a couple.

I guess I'm silly, but I just like the sound of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" or "Mr. and Mrs. Jones" (or whatever)..... "Mr. Smith and Mrs. Jones" just isn't as good and really doesn't sound like a couple. Of course those of you who don't change your name would probably consider yourselves "Ms." instead of "Mrs." anyway! ;)

My biometrics letter for the previous application was lost in the mail. I kept calling and calling and the agents would say I still need to wait... Then after several weeks I received a letter stating that I did not show up to my bio appointment, and they scheduled a another one.

Hi,

My GC expires on July 28, is it ok to send our I-751 package on May 19-20? We're waiting for IRS tax transcripts  and it takes around 2 weeks to get them.

 

I filed 30 days before GC expiry but I started to stress out when I never received my NOA-1 & Biometrics letters due to mail delivery issues... So I had to go and get a passport stamp and then request a new biometrics appointment.

 

From experience, the earlier the better :) but 60 days sounds good if you need to wait for more evidence.

How do you track it? With a USPS tracking no.? If so, call USPS.

 

I know calling USCIS is often frustrating due to long wait times and the different responses you get from different agents, but I would keep calling until someone does what they're supposed to do. I had to call multiple times to check why I hadn't received my NOA-1 & Biometrics letters, and finally one of the agents decided to check and found out that they were mailed out and I had already missed my bio appt, so she put in a request for new bio! I have no clue what the other agents that I talked to did, but I bet they didn't even check their system otherwise they would've mentioned the missed bio appt!

Added THEBIGHASH to VSC - Although I applied on 01/15, I believe my case should be with February filers due to the issues I faced.

First, I never received my NOA-1 - after many calls I decided to schedule my InfoSys appointment as my GC was about to expire. I received an I-551 Stamp on 02/19.
Second, I never received my Biometrics notice - I followed up by calling and even asked about it when I had my InfoSys, then I called again around mid March and the agent explained that I was sent a biometrics notice on 01/30 and I did not show up at my appointment on 01/19! I explained that I never received such notice so she mailed me a new notice on 03/19 and my appointment is scheduled for 04/05.

I'm not sure how all this would reflect on the approval date of my application...

sorry i have a random question but u might know the answer, am still waiting for my GC to be aproved and sent to me.

my question is. once we have the GC, if i wanna go visit my family back in egypt, do i need any sort of stamp or visa or any thing? or i just hold my GC go back and forth with it and my passport and thats it.

back to the topic. i am still waiting for my GC approval, CSC,  filed back in Jan 28/ 2013, never heard from them yet.

regarding your off-topic quesiton, yes, having a valid green card allows you to exit and enter the U.S. as long as your trip does not exceed 6 months. I think if you exceed 6 months but are still under 12 months you can also enter, but I've heard different answers about that. When you exit you don't get a passport stamp, but upon entry you will most likely be asked a couple of questions (where did you travel? for how long? why? who?) and get an "Admitted" stamp on your passport. Edit: Don't forget to maintain records of all your exit/entry dates, you will need those when/if you file for citizenship.

how long it took u to get since the mailed the package?

all dates are shown in the tables, i mailed my package 01/15

 

Received I-797 NOA today that wife's removal of conditions was approved and new green card should arrive within 60 days.

I was expecting to see a RFI when I saw the letter.

congratulations! i also received I-797 and also received the USPS tracking no. so my card should arrive tomorrow biggrin.png

New email/text received and my case has been updated as follows: "On June 3, 2013, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you  get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283." Fingers crossed the mailman gets it right this time!

Congrats!!! It seems like late Bio had no impact on your approval, and that is a good thing. Lets see how the rest of the Jan applicants shake out.

 

100%. Having not received my NOA-1 & Bio letters was a concern - things didn't look good at at the time. USCIS might be trying to make up for what they put me through!

Having filed late in January, your NOA-1 date could be either late Jan or early Feb. Did you file at VSC or CSC? VSC seems to be moving faster lately.
