Hey Jeff you are lucky you found out early. I hope you didn't cancel that trip yet so you can meet some real Filipinas instead of just the online.

At this moment I should be in the Philippines visiting the woman I met online several months ago but I canceled a few days before I was supposed to leave.

I just encourage everyone who is starting this process to keep your ears open to any inconsistencies and always be open and transparent about everything with your partner and demand the same.

I wish everyone happiness and a successful marriage.

May God bless everyone here,

TIN# can be 9 digits just like a SS# and you will need it to file a join return if you're married to a foreign wife, but you won't quailify for the tax stimulus check rebate then.

Philippinesvisa pick up
http://travel.state....-ENGL-07-03.pdf

COURIER DELIVERY OF ISSUED IMMIGRANT VISA
The Immigrant Visa unit uses a guaranteed courier service to deliver issued visas. Applicants may pay for this service and need not return to the Embassy to pick up their visas. Visas are delivered directly to the applicant’s home or office in seven to ten days of issuance, depending on the delivery location. Otherwise, the applicant may return to the Embassy to pick up the visa.

PhilippinesManila Embassy
No she doesn't have to come with you. Just bring your passport and the cash for the fee. ( I think it was about $30 when I did it.) You will swear to a consul that you can legally get married. The whole thing takes about one to two hours depending how busy they are.

Philippines4 weeks and no news
The problem is the U.S. Embassy in Manila is a high fraud embassy and they and the NSO are doing the best they can to check our documents. The Philippines has a corrupt image where "fixers" can produce documents for the right amout of pesos. Fraudulent papers and hidden marriages due to no divorce are rife in the Philippines. We are all tired of waiting and waiting.

QUOTE (Stephen1 @ May 28 2008, 07:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
so far everyone who has handled my fiancee's case so far has made mistakes. First delbros takes over a month to forward it, then the NSO looses the papers, now the Embassy will do nothing. Ive given up hope. Im just planning for her to be here in about 2 months. 2 weeks to wait to redue the proccess then 3 weeks at the nso again then 2 weeks for the embassy to do nothing so they can release the visa. I feel like an idiot for telling my family I was getting married this month and making plans. It makes me so mad the way the government can do anything they want and get away with it using tax dollars. No buisness could ever do things like this and stay in buisness. The government always charges 5x the amount a buisness would and takes 5x longer. And they act like dumb robots. Even if they see a problem just like stupid robots they do only what they are programed to do and nothing more.

Don't blame the U.S. Embassy. Read what was in the Manila Times April 07, 2008

Mayor Alfredo Lim of Manila ordered the immediate closure of establishments on Recto Avenue in Manila suspected of producing fake diplomas, transcripts of records and other certificates and documents.

Lim has tasked Manila’s police chief, Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales, to “continue without let-up” the clearing of Recto Avenue or the University Belt of racketeers who prey upon undergraduates and applicants who need foreign visas and other certifications.

The Embassy is under the dept, of Homeland Security so they are getting their orders to check documents closely for immigration. Don't give up hope you are so close now and some people wait for years to get a visa.

June 12 is not a labor day but Independence day. However, our President Arroyo moved the celebration of that holiday to June 9. Isn't that unique? That's only in Pinas. star_smile.gif

It's not the first time the Philippine government moved their Independence day, since it use to be on July 4th until 1964.

But if you have it, you should bring it. Its always better safe than sorry.

NOTHING is ever this exact in the Philippines. Your license "should" be ready on the 15th. Thats all really anybody can promise you.

Come to think of it, I dont know any agencies in the US, private or government, that would be this exact too about releasing paperworks.

You might want to check the following pointers from the US Embassy's website in Manila.

http://manila.usemba...v/wwwha009.html

I agree nothing is exact in the Philippines. I've heard some towns will use the passort stamp date determine the 10 day period.

are you blind people ? then what do you called those stuff like talking the age difference! where did you met your partner and some other gossip stuff ? well, i asked my wife yesterday and the way she understood for gossip was when you are talking pertaining to other private life but gossip is included also some other conversations i will give you the meaning of gossip
gos·sip
1. idle talk or rumor, esp. about the personal or private affairs of others: the endless gossip about Hollywood stars.
2. light, familiar talk or writing.
3. Also, gos·sip·er, gos·sip·per. a person given to tattling or idle talk.

i highlights the number 2 to for clearer meaning of gossip

troll

1; regularly posts specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion list, or in email for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that the have no real interest in learning about the topic at hand - they simply want to utter flame bait. Like the ugly creatures they are named after, they exhibit no redeeming characteristics, and as such, they are recognized as a lower form of life on the net, as in, "Oh, ignore him, he's just a troll."

Just joined today. No time line, definetly a TROLL

To those who have been interviewed for a CR1 visa, If you have any information to share regarding
the necessary documents to bring and questions asked during your interview. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and wish me luck,
Henry and Cor

Interview only took about 3 minutes, CO was a very friendly woman who only ask three questions.

1. What is your husband's job?
2. Did you meet his children?
3. When did you first meet?

Then the CO said you should be with your husband, you are approved it will take about one week for your visa.

Yes, my fiance want me to have PAL in going there, the route will be manila-vancouver, canada, las vegas....so u mean my port of entry will be vancouver?

Thanks...

Cora

Are you stopping in Vancouver B.C. Canada before Las Vegas on PAL flight. Someone can correct me if it has changed but the U.S. has a POE in Vancouver. It would help to know which flight you're on.

I think so. I flew from Vancouver before and the America customs is there at the Canadian airport. Check the POE reviews at VJ. I hope this helps
