Hi everyone, been a while since I posted! ~ *waving to the people still here who know me from the beginning of our journeys wink.gif

Just sent my I-751 packet out to TSC yesterday and now the waiting begins again I guess!

Mailed ours on Sept. 1 and received at VSC on Sept. 3. It's a wait and see game now. Good luck1

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWalk in Biometrics
We received our biometrics date today for October 3, 2007. Does anyone know if we can "walk-in" to the application service center before that date? We did that back with the I-485, saying, "we were in the neighborhood and thought we'd stop in," and they did the biometrics then and there. I'm not sure if things have changed in the past couple years and this is now banned.

Anybody have any experience doing this recently?

Thank you all for your assistance.

Does anyone know what the "code" means? On the I-797 Notice of Action, it is directly below the notice date. That seemed of importance to Gloria.

If I remember correctly from our AOS experience, Code 3 = they take a picture and thumb + forefinger prints; Code 2 = prints of all fingers.

Hopefully, somebody with a more "fresh" memory of the biometrics process will jump in. smile.gif

For what it's worth, we were code 3, but they took prints of all his finger and a picture.

The "code" is a curious thing.

uu where soo lucky, by any chance, did they give you a card (like a identification?), after your biometrics???

We did not receive any card. The only "proof" of the biometrics is a stamp on the back of the biometrics appointment notice stating the date the biometrics were taken.

And, yes, we were lucky. I hope they don't put us at the bottom of the pile because we did a walk-in. unsure.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionSuccessful Walk-in Biometrics in Hartford
Doug and I arrived at the application support center shortly after 3pm. The sign at the door said only people with appointments for today would be allowed inside. The security guard in the waiting room must have heard the door and said, "Greetings." We popped our heads into the empty waiting room and explained to him that our appointment date actually was October 3, but because it's difficult for Doug to take time off work, we thought we'd stop by to see if it could be done earlier. He was not pleased. "Can't you read the sign outside?" With a smile, I said, "Of course. However, given our circumstance, we thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. If it can't be done, we understand." After much mumbling, he called the supervisor who was not at her desk. He gave us a clipboard and the form to complete and said the decision was up to Gloria. As we were filling out the form, Gloria came walking past and the security guard said to her, "We've got a 10/3 here, can't make it then." She asked what the code was and he responded, "3." She sighed heavily and looked at the clock which said 3:15pm. She sighed again and nodded.

Doug had the biometrics done and we were out the door by 3:35pm. Success! They were not happy to do it, but I think a positive attitude helped us. We didn't go in there assuming they would take us. We knew they were doing us a favor. Probably won't work at most application support centers, but maybe at the small ones. It doesn't hurt to try, if you live close by.

Does anyone know what the "code" means? On the I-797 Notice of Action, it is directly below the notice date. That seemed of importance to Gloria.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionIt appears we are approved!
We were touched back in September 2007, a few days after the biometrics. The status did not change until we received the card production email. I wouldn't know what that means. Perhaps we were just put in a pile in September and not looked at again until last week.

We included all the standard stuff. Only thing that was a bit unusual was that we had no lease to attach. Our apartment is on a month-to-month basis from a non-English speaking landlady. So I prepared an affidavit attesting to those facts and attached a copy of every month's rent check since the date of our marriage. (We alternated who signed the rent checks every month, in hopes that it would be proof that we live together and shared banking responsibilities.)

Good luck on your journey, too!

"Congratulations!!!! good.gif
I understand that you are probably celebrating celebrating and will keep celebrating but
would you find a sec and write if you were touched before card production e-mail?
Thanks. Plus, any details like what have you included in the package would help also. Thanks again and congratulations again!"

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionIt appears we are approved!
After a long wait, it appears we are approved! I received an email this afternoon that says,

"Application Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT
RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On July 17, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow
30 days for your card to be mailed to you."

Could we really be approved? Again without an interview?
