United KingdomChanging the Beneficiary's address at the London Embassy

So this is what I have done so far:

  • Called the embassy to change his address. Was told to call the NVC to change it.
  • Called the NVC. Address change successful. Was then told to call the embassy as the packet had already been sent to London.
  • Called the embassy again. Was told to use an email address for technical support, sent the new address to the embassy email.
  • Received and email back from the embassy that I had used the incorrect email, address was not changed.

Every time I call the Visa line, they say they cant help me. He has called and so have I at least 10 times.

Please help me! I am at a loss. I didn't think changing an address would be so difficult.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWrong Embassy on the I-129F?!

Du calme.

Once the petition is approved, it will go to London as that's the only place in the UK that processes K-1.

So... I wont get an RFE?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWrong Embassy on the I-129F?!

Oh god. What did I do? I just sent the I-129F packet yesterday, and now that im reading the K-1 timeline, I think I made a big mistake. On the Embassy&Consulate portion of the form, I used the Edinburgh consulate (My fiance lives in Scotland) and I think I should have put London?? Does anyone know which is correct? And if its wrong, how do I fix it? Im freaking out!

"The Consulate General in Edinburgh does NOT process visas and cannot answer any questions concerning visa services.  Visa processing takes place at the Embassy in London and the Consulate General in Belfast.  "

Omg what did I do cray5ol.gif How do I fix this??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSo confused- DS230/DS160?

Yes ive been reading other threads as well. Apparently the DS160 has been replacing the DS156 and 157? Even so id still like to fill them out to be safe! You never really know.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSo confused- DS230/DS160?

So i'm trying to get all my forms together for the interview process. I have instructions printed from the Embassy of London site that says step one is to complete the DS-260 "Immigrant Visa App Form"

Then underneath it says:

""***For K visa applicants ONLY, complete the DS-160 online ....""

On other instructional websites, even this one, all it says is to fill out the DS-230. However when I look at descriptions of these, the DS-230 is an app for an Immigrant visa, whereas the DS-160 is for a non-immigrant visa, which my understanding is that the Fiance K-1 visa is considered 'non-immigrant' visa (which is what im filing)

So my question is... what do I do? Do I fill out both? Only one? Which one!?!

Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDishonorable Discharge and K1 Visa

Yeah, maybe im getting the citizenship bit confused with the K1 visa process? I just mainly want to know if his discharge would make it harder for his visa to get approved.According to him it shouldn't be an issue. Just want to make sure everything goes smooth!

From London's list of documents---

Military Records:  Persons who have served in the military forces of any country must obtain one copy of their military record. Note: On the day of the visa interview you will be required to furnish either your discharge papers or evidence of terminal leave from the forces.

Note: Military records from certain countries are unavailable. For further information, please contact the Immigrant Visa Unit.

Thanks for that. It doesn't really specify what happens if they were discharged in a bad way, you know what I mean? I know that to become a citizen, if he was discharged in the last 5 years he has to provide reference letters from employers and co-workers ect that hes in good moral standing or what have you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDishonorable Discharge and K1 Visa

So I recently found out my Fiance (like a complete idiot) got dishonorably discharged from the British Army for getting into a fist fight with his commander. No charges were pressed, he didn't go to court, he was just discharged.

What kind of problems am I going to run into? Were at the pre-interview stage and I want to know if there is any additional paperwork we need to get now!

Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChanging Fiance Address After NVC

Okay well packet 3 4 5 or 6, I dont know. Thats why im on these forums. All I know is ive gotten all the paperwork together, his medical is scheduled, he submitted his "readyness form" after completing the DS160, and now were suppost to wait for that stupid letter with his interview date. They dont label them "packets" so this is very confusing. Also because I cant seem to change one simple address.

You mention application forms. What application forms. All the applications we are required to complete are done. The embassy has no way of knowing he has relocated to a new address without them being informed in some way.

Yeah? So, if you follow Nich-Nick's advice, then you should get the interview letter to the correct address!  I don't understand?  You don't need Packet 3 instructions to get in the embassy, which is the only thing you should get to the old address at this point, following the instructions above.

Sometimes the interview letter just never shows up, even when they do have the correct address...

The link he provided does not give me instructions on how to change his address. I need to change his address so he received his letter with his appointment on it. Without that letter, he cannot get into the embassy. This is my dilemma.

Also "packet 3" doesnt exist anymore. Hes merely receiving a letter with his interview date

He isn't even allowed inside the embassy without that letter in his hand, so it is very important he recieve it. Maybe plicy has changed recently.

Also, they have received the file. And no, I cant make my own appointment. But I was told I needed to make an account here https://usvisa-info.com/

after clicking on the immigrant visa button. Infact the person I was speaking to on the phone made the account for me.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChanging Fiance Address After NVC

I am extremely confused! And currently on hold with the NVC. I recently called to make my interview with the embassy. They told me I had to register online to make the interview. I created an account and began registering. Then this happened:

Enter the exact Consular location and date from the appointment letter you received from the National Visa Center (NVC), Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) or Consular Section. Do not enter false or different appointment information than what is on your notification letter. Do not continue with this process if you have not received an appointment letter from the NVC, KCC or Consular Section.

He hasn't received a letter yet, it only left the NVC for London on the 14th of November. My main problem is, his address wasn't updated to his current address. I tried to change his when I contacted the NVC a week ago. They said I had to change his address with the Embassy at London. When I spoke with the Embassy just now, they said I had to change it with the NVC. Does anyone have any experience with this?!
