Hope this helps! Why was the first number no luck? They would not help you? Who is the 202 number for? That # is for US State Department: (202) 663-1225 - press 1, 0. You can call them to see where your petiton is, and once its at the embassy they can alos let you know things like whether or not packet 3 was sent/received, if an interview is scheduled, etc. You took the words right out of my mouth. They have the same info as the NVC. The NVC number puts you only hold once for just a few minutes and then sends you back to a menu. When you choose the number you want again it kicks you out of the system if the system is full. VSC needs to get moving and filing a formal complaint I think will help everyone. My Fiance has a theory about all the movement lately that I thought I'd throw out and see what you guys think... He thinks that anyone applying before the fee hike they are going to be processed in some manner (we hope for all an NOA2) before the first of the year. I saw it had been touched and immidiately called my fiance (yes it's 4 in the morning there) just to celebrate a touch.... then I clicked on our reciept number... and.... WE ARE APPROVED!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Waiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?	Well I've been reading all of your posts lately and decided to take a swing at calling VSC myself. So I did a few minutes ago. I got a hold of a lady that was pleasant enough, but you could tell that she was busy with all her phone calls. I first just said I was calling to "follow up" on my fiancé visa application and she immediately said just check the website. Then I said, "well um, I need report a change in phone number" (hoping somehow to get her to open my file in the system). She told me that phone number changes don't make a difference. Then repeated to check on the website for more of an update. I played dumb and said "I don't understand where I should look because it just keeps telling me 6 months." She then told me to wait a minute. Typed a few things into the computer and told me this.... There are just over 3,000 I-29F visas in the system at this time. They have cleared the backlog up to May 1st. For the most part we could tell the information above from just our comparing notes, but thought I'd share my conversation. I got an email today telling me they had tried to deliver the box but had to leave a notice... at my house! My local post office has no clue what went wrong. Needless to say I rushed to pick up the box. It looked like an elephant had been using it as a stool. I repacked everything and drove it over an hour away directly to Fed Ex (bypassing USPS). I wasn't able to find a DHL center that would take international packages (I live in the boonies of PA) and UPS and I are not on friendly terms due to them incorrectly shipping a box to India as a commercial package and my fiance had to pay over $100 to get the box out of customs. Fed Ex was great today. The told me that it is not the first time they have heard about the transfer from the post office to Fed Ex not being smooth. I've been checking tracking like a mad dog and the box is already on a plane. Thank you for all your support, advice and prayers! PS. Happy Valentine's Day! It's not so much the not getting to my fiance yet part that I'm worried about. It's the fact that the tracking number that I was given only shows "accepted" and Fed Ex claims the postal service never has given them the package. I've visited the local post office yesterday and they claimed they sent it to a central processing center. The local post office agrees that the box is lost. I have to say that I am happy that this was to be transferred to Fed Ex. They have called me each morning with an update. Last Wednesday I shipped all my documents to my fiance for his interview. I made copies everything before shipping it off. I sent him originals of my boarding passes, birth certificate, receipts of when I was in India visiting last, bank letter, employer letter, pay stubs, w-2's etc. Well... the box is now officially lost! I mailed it through the United States Postal Service Global Express Guaranteed (via Fed Ex). The post office knows they accpted the package from me, but has no idea what happened to it. Fed Ex has no account of receiving the package. My fiance's interview is not until April, but I don't know how to get some of the originals (i.e. pay stubs, w-2's, boarding passes and receipts). I feel like just sitting down and crying. I feel like this process has taken a long time already and has so many hiccups. Anyone with advice? We have a lawyer that hasn't been worth his salt. He went crazy when I told him that I sent him originals. I had to point out to him that the packet 4 asked us for them. sorry guys.... something wacky was going on with my computer. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Can a Fiance make a visit while waiting?	My fiance's visa was a student visa and ran out and he returned home. Can he file for a visitors visa although we have the K-1 filed? I'm wondering if you can have more than one visa in the hopper at a time. I just miss him. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Proof of ongoing relationship	We are email chatters on gmail and send very few emails. When we do send emails they aren't personal, but junk that would be sent to other friends. Our chats are great, but are weird and random sometimes. We did send some of our chats, but we concentrated a lot on out phone calls (every other week), pictures, things that we sent snail mail, etc. Our lawyer also added in some of the sappy emails his mom and I wrote to each other. He said that because we (soon to be mom-in-law and I) talk so dearly about the relationship of my fiancé and myself that it would bode well for us. His office processes thousands of people a year for visas, so I figure he knows what he's talking about. He told us to have a minimum of 8 different photos and he wanted some to include engagement if possible. Also he wanted us to show a bill of sale for the engagement ring. We couldn't because it was a family piece, but we could show the ring, it's value (based on evaluation from a jeweler), and a bill of it being sized for me in India. The lawyer said things like flight schedules of trips to see my fiancé, when I cashed my traveler's checks there, etc. Would show not only that we saw each other, but substantiate the relationship. I even saved a reciept of a fancy place we went to dinner that he paid for while I was in India. My guy is the same way about emails so don't worry. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Getting info about our case...	Call the 800 number listed on the bottom of the NOA1 page. Then follow the numbers as if you are filing for a Request for Information (RFE). Do not follow any automated anything. From there they have to send you to a customer service agent in your Service Center. Good luck on getting them to tell you much... they always seem to refer back to the website and give general informaton. We named our finger's crossed date, one out about 11 months and then one out about 1.5 years from application. Folks know of our situation and found it to be humorous that we would send it out, but it was a way for me to keep on truck'n with wedding plans. I also reserved only places that would allow me to change my times at will. We won't make our first date for sure, the second is up in the air and well... the 3rd date it will be too late. But due to planning, we'll be ready anytime. I recommend talking to the places you have reserved, telling them that you guarantee that you will use them for your celebrations, but need alternative dates. The of our save the dates card front read: He asked her…. … and she said yes! Then she promptly sent him off to India! The back: Save the Date! Turns out because his most recent passport was issued to him while he was here in the United States (from the Indian Embassy) they will have to go back through the entire process of police clearance certificate. They told him it will be another 2 weeks and then he can go to the PCC for his other clearance... all the while they are holding his passport.... and time is ticking away for us to have an interview. From what we can tell he's getting the full work up of investigation. It's being sent to the Indian equal of the FBI. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	India Police Certificates	Today my fiance went out for a bit and upon returning his parents told him they had been visited by the local police (Marine Drive District) wanting to provide him with paperwork for his police clearance. He has only applied at this time for his clearance from the Passport agency and had not gone to the commissioners office for the local police clearance. Can anyone tell us what might be going on? They have asked that he appear at the police station on Monday with copies of his old passport (his most recent is at the passport agency), electric bill, phone bill, ration card, election card, birth certificate. He must appear with 2 copies of each all noterized. Does anyone have a clue what could be going on? Does the passport office alert the police? My fiance's father is a lawyer and even he was confused.
