Questions about the interview.

How many interviews are there?
Do you both go to the interview/interviews?

Thanks

Thanks for all the great replies. I am sure I can handle the interview alone. I just want my thoughts together and to get it over with smoothly, so I can get my visa and get moved.

Hi again,
I am back home from the medical in Vancouver. Get ready for a long day. The medical is pretty organized, but long. I got there at about 6:15 am and it starts at 6:30 am. There were about 10 people there already and when they opened the door the woman asked us to take a number and to take the number in the order of arrival to be fair. I was number 11. They give you a few forms to fill out and then call you up to the front desk to make sure you have everything on your check list...passport, vaccines etc. After that you go for your blood test and then for your x-ray and then wait to be called in for the medical, after the medical they take height and weight and a short eye test (which I failed)(but it is not on the list, so it confused me)(I now have an appointment for the eye doctor). I was done with everything at about 10:30 am and although it seems like a long time it really goes fairly quickly and is fairly organized as well.
Then you wait. You cannot pick up your medical results until two pm. I had to gone to Vancouver from Vancouver Island - Nanaimo - and had to spend the night at a hotel, I checked out of the hotel when I left at 6 am as I wasn't sure when I would be done and check out is at 11 am. Because I had checked out I really had no place to go to wait, but the medical building has a huge waiting room to sit in. I went out for coffee and then bought a paperback book and a few magazines to read while I waited. The wait was long and boring!!! At bout 1:30 they called my name and informed me that the results to my blood test did not get process with the others and that I could leave and they would courier my results next week!! The only good thing about the timing was that I could get the 3 pm ferry back home. They give you your x-ray if you want it even though you do not need it for anything as you have paid for it and it is yours. I kept mine as a souvenir. LOL I am really glad to be home again, but now I wait for the results.
Once I have them I will be able to finish my check list and make the appointment for the interview.

Yikes! You could have sent back your checklist already...THEN made your medical appointment. People usually make their Consulate appointment and medical appointment during the same day/days so that they don't have to leave and come back another time. Sorry that you didn't know that. sad.gif

I realize that now, but I was not quite ready to do both, but will be in a few weeks. Thanks for the reply. Karen

CanadaMedical Appointment
Hi everyone,
I have my medical appointment in two days!!
I am excited that we have gone this far so far, but I am nervous as well.
Has anyone gone through the medical in Vancouver, BC??

Another thing about VJ - there seems to be a lot of "abbreviations" used in posts and although they are easier and convenient, there may be some newbies that have no idea what you are talking about.

Thanks everyone

CanadaDress for Interview
I read an article on the net about preparing for your interview.
It stated that your should regard the interview the same as a job interview and to dress the part.
I'm no slob, but I can't see myself wearing dress pants and heels to the interview in Vancouver in the rain and snow.

Anyone here already experienced Vancouver interview?
Did you dress up or just go as yourself?

CanadaChristmas - Secret Santa
QUOTE (trailmix @ Nov 18 2009, 02:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Last year, around this time, we decided we would do a secret santa gift exchange for VJ members in the Canada forum. For those of you who weren't members yet, this is how it went:

- If you are interested in taking part, you just post in this thread to say you are interested.

- Once we have everyone - I will ask you to send me your address (only two people will get this information - me and your secret santa).

- Once we have all the names and addresses, I randomly match people up and email them the information on their receipient.

- About 2 weeks before Christmas you mail your gift to your receipient.

Anyone interested this year?

Sounds good to me!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionROC
Hi, I will be applying for my ROC in early May 2012. My husband travels with his work and may be in Africa durning this time.
Does he have to be here for this part of the process or can he sign papers before he leaves??
Is there an interview at this time?
What can I do to help this situation if he happens to be out of the country during this time?
Thanks for reading and helping.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioni do not have any updates changing on case status

Hi everyone, does anybody know ,what is the reason why i cannot see anything changed on my case status. Checking it, as i received RFE on february, and sent it back on march 9. I did not find nay change on the timeline, when tried to see, if they every posted that they sent my RFE. is it only my case does not show anything?
And if anybody have clues, when to expect to hear anything from Vermont center, in regards to my RFE. It has been two weeks now, and i am lost .

My status on line dates back to May of 2012 and has never been updated since, but I did sign up for email updates and I have received emails dealing with my I-751 right up to the day I received my green card which was March 30, 2013. We filed in May of 2012 and I received a RFE in January of 2013, hang in there, I am sure if all is well you should have some news soon. It is hard to be told to check your status on line and see no changes and if you call they will recommend you check on line as well, but I have found that calling then is really not much help as the letter states if can take up to 60 days.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 May 2012 Filers
I mailed my I-751 on May 23 and my check has just been cashed today, so I would wait and and not worry like I did.

hello,

i am new here.

i also filed for ROC in may 2012 to VSC. my GC expires Aug 25th.

i did certified mail and received the certified mail slip stamped.
The stamp said it was received on May 29th 2012. Since GC expires on Aug 25th, May 29th is exactly 89 days before it expires, so its definitely within the window...

however, after that i haven't heard any thing so far, and the check has not been cashed yet either.

starting to get a bit anxious...

i called the USCIS help center number yesterday, and the representative said I had to wait 30 days before contacting anyone...

Thanks everyone, at least now I know we are on the right track and should be okay. I have my police report and have had my medical, I just need documents from Michael. It seems to me that I can fax Vancouver and get the interview date soon.

Thanks again for all of your great responses.

Hey, it's me again. On the NOA - where it says Notice Type: Approval Notice - it also says Valid from 09/18/2009 to 01/18/2010.
Does that mean that I the beneficiary has to have the k1 visa in hand by then or that I have to at least have the interview date by then, or what do the dates mean?? I am in a bit of a panic as Michael lives in Florida, works out of Texas at times and also does work overseas in Africa. Because of this we have been taking a bit longer to get the information to each other. Right now I am gathering the information for the check list for the interview. I need to know if we are okay still.

Thank you in advance

I now have an interview date!!!

So happy that I am getting closer to going.............
But, what is packet 4? Is it the letter saying you have an appointment or is there more to it??
I had been thinking all this time that once you got your letter for the interview date and you would have received further instructions other than the security inspection information. What about the prepaid return envelope that some have talked about ?
[/size]
Maybe there is more but I haven't received it yet, this letter was mailed on December 15 and I just received it today.

Thanks again

Middle East and North AfricaCompleting Forms
Does anyone have any information about completing the forms on line and then printing them out?
The G-325A is a PDF file that you can complete on line and then print out to send.
When you are completing lines that take more space than given, a drop down arrow appears to show that there is more information on that line.
The problem is that when you print the completed form the lines that have the arrow – print the arrow- and not the additional information.
Can you use the space below the line if there is room/ Or – what do you do to get the for m completed properly??
Thank you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Questions
Hi All,

I am listing the question I have for form
I-129F below. Please add comments.

1.) Part B-7 Other names used (including maiden name)How do they want the name(s) listed? Last, First Middle?

2.) Part A -9 - Names of prior spouses - and Part B-10 Again, how do they want the names listed?

3.) Part A-10 If I check "Birth in U.S." Do I need to enter anything else under this question?
Give number of certificate, date and place it was issued. - Do I complete this information as well when I check "Birth in the U.S."

4.) 13. List all children of your alien fiancé(e) (if any) Part B-13 Do they want the full address of each child? (they are grown and live
on their own).

5.) Exactly what do you put on the extra sheet of paper when there is not enough room to place the required information on the form?

5a.) Can I place all of the additional information on one sheet of paper, even if the answers are to different questions?

6.) One question on the biographic information - G-325 form: How much information and in what order do they want on place of marriage and divorce?
My other half has been married twice and we want to put this information down correctly.

I suppose it is better to have too much information if you have it, than not enough?
We called the 1-800 number for some clarification on some of the questions and they could not give us clear answers as there seems to be some legal ramifications if they give you an answer to a question???

Thank you in advance for your help.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 questions
Hi everyone,

Michael and I have mailed our I-129F and now I have been reading to see what I need to do.

I have been reading the forms and checking to see that I will have all the information available.
on the DS-230 question 30 states............

"30. List below all places you have lived for at least 6 months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality."

This question makes me panic as now I am trying to remember where I have lived for the past 39 years??? Is this correct??

Maybe what I should be asking is what steps do I need to take while I am waiting for the package??

I was worried that the questions I ask are silly, but I have gotten over that.

Thank you for your time and patience.

Hi kids,
How do you find a doctor to perform the medical examination? Is there a website? I live in Edmonton, are there docs around here or do I have to travel to Vancouver, where my interview will ultimately be? Thanks bunches!

Hi, the list and information will be in your visa packet. I believe that you will be traveling to Vancouver for your medical. I just completed my medical in Vancouver.

Hi , I have all my medical documents now and am in the process of faxing Vancouver my check list, but I have a question for anyone who has had their interview and who has been previously married.
Do you need the original documents of both mine and his previous marriages and divorces?
He was married twice and I was married once.
Does he need to send me this info for the interview??
Is there anything else I should have of his???
I hope this question makes sense.
Thanks everyone
Karen & Michael

You will need everything that was sent with the I129F, yes. This will (should!) have included copies of all divorce certificates, proving that you are both free to marry.

Take a look at the guide for K1 visas at the top of this page, when you scroll down past the I129F part, it will list everything you will need to take with you to the interview.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I am really looking forward to not being so uptight and nervous about this whole procedure.

When you get your 'packet' about all the information for the interview it should be in there. It was a pre-paid xpress post envelope that I bought at Canada Post. It was big! I mean, had to fold it to put it in your purse big! I'm guessing around 11x17 -- but PLEASE double check. I searched a bit in the guides and didn't see it. It basically holds your big xray that they send back to you and a few other papers. Good luck! You'll do great! smile.gif

I just received packet 4 with my interview date in Vancouver February 02, 2010, but there was no mention of a mailer, just location, time, security measures taken and to bring all required documents, visa and medical info. So, I am curious about this mailer as well. Seems to me that packet 4 is not a standard form letter?

Thanks
Karen
