IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFinally I'm here in US
QUOTE (nagaamerica @ Dec 1 2008, 09:20 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hi everyone! It's been a while since my last post. I went here in Kansas last nov. 26 via PAL. I'm with my baby. It was fine and ok coz my baby was always sleeping during the take-off and landing. So there was no problem when we are inside the plane. I had a problem when I filled up some form....and at the POE..the officer was so kind that he finished very fast and let us in. And my husband waited at the arrival area. thanks that I was able to make it.

thanks

WELCOME!!!

What does this mean ( may be adjudicated by sept) does this mean might have interview date or may be done Im not sure
if some one knows please respond

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between September 1, 2008 and September 13, 2008*.

adjudicated means a decision rendered on your i-129f.

Thanks a lot!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAttorney Trouble
QUOTE (Ben and Hazel @ Aug 2 2008, 01:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello Vj people,

I'm new at this but here goes, We hired an attorney who put a para legal on our case,
I was asked to fill out the I-129f and both, my fiance myself had to fill out the G-325A
She then had us send in a fee for the I-129f and the G-325A combined, total $655, after fourteen days our petition was then returned to us requesting a check for $455, after a wait of 161 days, we received an RFE, requesting that we send in the stamped visa, which apparently had not been submitted.
it is next to impossible to get ahold of the paralegal and we have been waiting since Jan. 10, 2008, should we get a new attorney? and if so at what stage in the process can this be safely done at?
I am afraid to bother my own attorney with any questions, so I am very grateful that their is a forum of like minded people who are willing to take the time to help each other.

Ben

Hi Ben!
Just out of curiousity, what is the the name of the law firm that you hired...we did hired attorney also and we want to know if we will encounter this kind of problems.
Thank you...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 interview in work or home country?
QUOTE (huntherx17 @ Oct 8 2008, 04:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi.. I just became a US citizen and Im planning to apply a K-1 Visa for my fiancee who is a Filipino citizen but she's currently working in Saudi Arabia.

I would like to ask if her visa process should be forwarded to the US consulate in Saudi or in the Philippines. I know she has to receive and fill out the packets from the consulate, do a medical checkup, and do the interview. So it would be convenient if she can do that in Saudi Arabia but I want to know if that's even possible or is it better to do those in the Philippines although that will involve travelling back and forth.

Thanks for any help!

Hi Theres no problem with that process. She can have her interview and medical where she works right now. Im a Filipino working here in Hongkong and my interview will be on Oct. 20 at USE-Hongkong. Good luck!

Hi everyone, I am a new member on VJ. smile.gif

I was wondering, does it matter if I have a job during the K-1 process?

Do the consuls ask about that during the interview? blink.gif

I am thinking about quitting my current job after I get my packet 3, so I can spend time with my family and friends, and also prepare all the stuff before leaving.

Thank you guys! GOOD LUCK!! star_smile.gif

Hello guys,

I just got my medical report today. And I wonder if I have to bring my x-ray with my when I have my interview at the consulate? Even though the staff at the medical center said the consulate just needs my medical report, I'd like to know if you have to bring it or not?

Also, the staff told me I will have to bring my x-ray with me when I enter the US. And is it hand carry? Thanks and god bless you all!

Hi smile.gif
It's not necessary, I don't think they even check it but many have brought it to the interview just in case. Some have rolled it up and put it in a cardboard sleeve to manage it easier. It's your call.

I don't believe it's necessary for POE either. They want to see your medical package that you get from your medical. If you had any issues with the x-ray, I would bring it for sure.

Good luck and congrats smile.gif
~Laura

Thanks for your suggestion. smile.gif I will bring it just in case they need it. I think bringing the x-ray to the airplane is kind of a trouble, because it is big and hard to carry. wacko.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAge requirement for K1
QUOTE (wlchan @ Dec 18 2007, 04:38 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi,

I'm just starting the K1 process for my fiance in China and I have a few questions I would like to ask. First of all, she is only 17 right now, but will be turning 18 in February. The laws here in North Carolina say that you must have the guardian's consent if you are under the age of 18 (she will be 18 by the time she gets her visa). My question is can I file for the K1 right now or do I have to wait until she turns 18? Or do I just need her parent to sign some document allowing her to marry?

I know you can file some form that allows her to be able to work in the US, but what about if she wanted to go to college? Do you think it'll be possible for her to attend a summer session that starts at the end of May if I send the I-129F form out before January? I know the time line will be really hard to predict, but I need to know if I should apply for colleges (if possible) on her behalf.

Thanks,
wlchan

Well I guess my case is a little similar to yours. I am now 18, and when my fiance filed the petition for me on 5 June, I was still 17, so he told me to get my mother to sign on a letter stating that she allowed me to get married to my fiance. And he sent it with the I-129F. After 5 months, we got our approval and I am already 18. That's my case. wink.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresevidence provided for submission
hello guys
my fiance and I are going to file a submission for K-1.
actually we met each other and started dating since 2000 when we studied in the US.
In fact we keep visiting each others since 2002 (after we graduated) and we keep all the flight ticket receipts since then.
I am just wondering if I should submit all these ticket receipts (2002-2006) as evidence because it just requires us to provide evidence on how we met in person in the past two years.
or should we just concentrate on providing evidence from 2005-2006 ?

any advice for us ?

besides, we would like to know how long is the grace period once the K-1 visa is issued ? in fact, we planned to get married in the US in Dec and we are afraid that the visa will arrive earlier than we expect, ie, if the visa arrives in April or May and the grace period is less than 6 months, so that I have to go to the US before Nov.

I am not sure if I state my questions clearly. Any comments are appreciated !

Thanks very much !

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurespassport stamp
I read several threads discussing the importance of submitting passport stamps as a primary evidence to show someone was in a country and that makes me a bit worried.

Actually, my fiance was born in Hong Kong and he got HK permanent residency. When he was 12, his whole family moved to the US and later got his US passport there.

However, when he traveled to Hong Kong (4 times in the past 2 years), he used the Hong Kong Identity Card instead of his US passport to enter Hong Kong as it's more convenient to get through the Customs. So there's no stamp on his US passport showing he has been here in the past 2 years. In fact, we didnt even think of the importance of having the stamps, so we just submitted his flight tickets and boarding passes as evidence. (By the way, I have been to the US twice in the past 2 years and have submitted the copies of passport stamps, visas, flight ticket and boarding passes)

Do you guys think we may get an RFE owing to our failure to show the passport stamps ?

On the other hand, I knew that the Hong Kong Immigration Department can retrieve someone's travel records in the past 10 years by providing one's travel document / HK Identity Card. Do you guys think we should get the records back first just in case CSC asks for RFE ?? (I hope this is also a proof showing he has been to here and the records are provided by the HK Government)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHas anyone not sent copy of passport
hello safitu !

My Fiance submitted the K1 application without sending the passport stamps (because my fiance doesnt have it ! he is a permanent resident in HK and does not need passport to enter HK)
However, I am worrying about this as I read several threads on VJ discussing the importance of having it. So I am contacting the Govt and trying to retrieve the my fiance's "in and out of HK" records.

If you have it, please do send them and I think they are a strong evidence !

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRecord of How you met
Just to share my experiences ... though I am not filing thr' VSC

My fiance and I met 6 times in the past 2 years.

so we just came up with a simple list stating the date of the visit (then attach relevant evidence eg boarding pass, passport stamps ....) , the place I/he stayed during the visit and mentioned only the thing we can provide evidence (eg. we went to ski in the US. Hotel receipt and ski pass are attached at Annex A ..... )

I think you can skip the details that you could not provide any evidence.

and I really think the number of visits help convince the person who handles your case. To me, we did not send in all the evidence, eg the passport stamps of my fiance nor any other secondary evidence eg ATM receipt etc. But we didnt get an RFE ! Lucky !

btw ... send your visit information within the past 2 years !
