IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsStatus Change?

We just got an update from USCIS that our case has been transferred to another office.  We filed back in April for the I-130 and were in Lee Summit.  What does this mean?  Where would they have transferred our case.  Does this mean we will be approved soon?

I am a jan.22nd filer my case was transferred to the Atlanta office

in February. someone told you that it means your case was transferred

for expedite that's not true. All it means is it's being transferred to your

local USCIS office. They will re file your case in there filing room and there

it will sit waiting to be assigned to an officer. I know this because I had to

go to 2 info passes before my file was approved in November. My 1-130

for my wife took 9 and a half months before it was approved by the USCIS.

You can go to the USCIS website and on the left of the page click info pass

then select English and then it will ask you for your zip code when you put

it in it will tell you where your papers were transferred.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-130 January 2013 Filers !!! Is Every One Approved ???

I suggest if you want to find out whats going on with your file to make an info pass

because calling the 1-800 number on the NOA1 is a waste of time you will get a

different story about your case every time you call. I was even told that as of August

26th an officer was looking at my papers but never got an NOA2 so I went to the

office to see what was going on and they tell me the have no file of mine that it

has been lost. very frusterating ! Take my advise and stay on top of your papers

because that's the only way you will get anything done because they do not care.

NO ! I am a January 22nd 2013 filer and made an info pass Thursday just for them to tell me

they have no file of mine that it had been lost. 9 months of waiting for nothing. What a great

government we have.

Scheduled an Infopass @ Atlanta USCIS Office on Nov 15 @ 12:00pm. I arrived at 10a, but didn't go in until 11a anyway checked in waited like 10min before they called my #. Lucky window #8 gave her my receipt # she asked me who I was petitioning told her my husband. pulls my file in the system she chuckled and said I have your fileidea9dv.gif . I was oh really! she's like give me a sec and let me check if I have everything that needed to be sent with your i130. she came back 2min later and said I APPROVED YOUR APPLICATION YESTERDAYdancin5hr.gif wow.gif dancin5hr.gif  you should receive your NOA2 from the service center soon. OMG! of course I started cryingbiggrin.png tongue.png  and told her I had drove from Savannah and doubtful of coming. she was really, yep! It took 9months 2day (PD-2/12/13) for my approval. It was soooo worth the 3.5hr drive each away to hear your APPROVED. Now just got to wait for my approval letter  (Will update timeline once NOA2 is received by mail). Am so thankful to God and my mom's prayers.

I'm the one you talked to a few weeks back.

You asked me if it was worth going to Atlanta

for info pass and I gave you my story and said yes

it was worth it. See I told you. HaHa!

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCase transferred to NVC

my hubby received NOA2 on October 2, 2013 that says our I-130 was approved and they will transfer the case to NVC.. Today, november 26, we called NVC and they told my hubby that our case was not yet on their system.. its almost 2 months since my case was approved yet it is not on their system?! does anyone experienced the same? what should we do?

I received my wife's NOA2 Nov.4th and the NVC received it on Nov.8th

I called the NVC 2 weeks after they received our file and the lady told me

it could take up to 8 weeks for our file to be put into there system. We are

still waiting on a case number also. Best of luck to you.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsStraight from Initial Review to Post-Decision Activity?

I got an email like that but it said I was approved and told the date of approval.

Go to the USCIS website and re enter your receipt number and under post decision

activity it should tell you the date you were approved/ denied and in about a week you

should receive your NOA2.  Best of luck to you.

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On November 25, 2013, a USCIS office received this case from the State Department with a request that we review it. We will notify you when we complete our review, or if we need something from you.  If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State.  For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

I am doing my best not worry, but this seem very bad to me. I received this email today, four days after my initial transfer from NBC to Texas. I never received a decision so I am confused as to why I would have post-decision activity? Why would they need to review it again when they never reviewed it in the first place? Why did the state department have it?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHiring a Lawyer

So I contacted the USCIS they sent out a "Service Request" no more than 48hrs later I got a letter from the Newark local office reiterating that the case is still pending consideration and they regret they are unable to give me a timeframe. Although they stated that they are processing February cases at this point at USCIS, I find its a big load of horse manure that they for one second moved their slothy behinds to even look for the case to begin with. I am FED UP and I don't care who I have to hire, thankfully I have a Legal Plan with my company, I am turning to an immigration lawyer this is unacceptable and I am at my wits end!!!!

Just wanted to give you some helpful info I went on 2 info passes before I was approved.

what im about to say is not meant to get you down. on my 1st info pass the USCIS told me

my file was lost that it couldn't be found and they told me to mail certain documents back in

and the guy would adjudicate my case so I did what he said and waited 3 weeks and nothing

happened so I made another info pass and my lawyer told me to make a copy of my intire

petition and take with me as a back up. So that's what I did but my second info pass went well

the immigration officer took the time to really look for my original file and found it. I was approved

the next day. so I would like to suggest making a copy of your petition and carry with you on your

info pass.

Wish you luck

To be honest with you I have had a lawyer through my and my wife's 1-130 process and you will

be wasting your money to get a layer at this point because you have already filed. When you start

the process with a lawyer they send you out an instruction sheet of all the info you need to gather

for the I-130 process and also they send out worksheets for you to put your info on for the I-130

and G-325 A. Once you gather the info for the lawyer and fill out the worksheets he then takes the

info you provide and fills out the documents for you.

I would suggest writing your congressman and senator let them find out where your file is located

then after you know where it is make an info pass if your file is in driving distance of where you live.

I am a Jan 22nd filer 2013 and we were just approved Nov.4th and to even get approved when we

did I had to make 2 info passes and go to Atlanta. An immigration lawyer can help you with all your

paperwork if you had no idea what to do like myself. But that's about all they can do.

Our approval notice NOA2 came 9.5 months after our NOA1.

Best of Luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsINFOPass appointment with ATL field office.

Hello folks,

I would like your input about my current predicament.  I filled for my Wife (resides in India) and received NOA1 on 1/29/2013.  The receiptnumber starts with MSC (I understand this is NBC now), however the has been transfered to Atlanta Field Office since March of 2013 (According Tier2 USCIS customer service rep).  I have made three service requests (07/31/2013 request result: pending consideration, 09/16/2013 request result: pending adjudication, 12/09/2013 request result: pending consideration).  USCIS is not answering why the file hasn't progressed any further, and I was advised to set up an Infopass appointment.

So, I have an appointment for 12/23/2013 at ATL field office for my case.  I would like your observations about ATL field office, and if you are aware of their current situation.  What should I expect from this appointment (I have a verry passimistic expection considering how much it has been dragged on for)?  Are there certain questions I can ask to better understand a possible decision date?  How is the general reception by interviewee, what more information can I provide to help them make their decision quicker?  I am considering asking for expedited service, though I can't seem to find much resource online on how this is received by field offices.

Thank you all for help.

Darshan

Well my wife is from the Philippines but I can honestly say I have been right where you are.

I am a Jan 22nd filer and I was told by a tier 2 on 2 different occasions that my file had been

transferred to Atlanta so I decided to make my 1st info pass and it was scheduled for Oct.10th.

I went and as you go in you will have to go through security just like at the airport also you will

need your passport or another form of ID. Be sure to take your info pass appointment sheet with

you because they will ask you for it at the check in desk scan it and give you a number. You will

be seated and wait for an immigration officer to call you up to the window.

When I went on Oct. 10th the officer called me up to the window and asked me how long had my case

been filed and I told him. He took my receipt number and told me since it had been so long since I filed

that he would pull my file and adjudicate my case and told me to have a seat. He called me up 20 minutes

later and told me he said we don't have your file it's no where to be found. He then told me to mail certain

things back in and as soon as he got it he would adjudicate my case. I waited 3 weeks and nothing happened

so I made another info pass appointment Nov.10th and talked to a different officer he took my receipt number

and I told him what had happened on my previous appointment. He went back to the file room and was gone

about 20 minutes and came back with my original file. My appointment was on a Friday and he said he would

come in the next morning and adjudicate my file I didn't really believe him because it was a Saturday morning

but he did what he said he would do because that saturday morning I received a call saying my wife's I-130

had been approved and received my NOA2 about a week later. I was approved on Nov.4th. Be sure to take

your NOA1 with you.

Best of Luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-130 APPLICATION APPROVED IN 13 DAYS!!! ^___^

Congratulations on your very quick approval.

My wife is from the Philippines and our approval came Nov.4th 9.5 months after filing

it also took me going to 2 info passes in Atlanta to get my wife approved. I sent in an

expedite request to the NVC because my wife was in the 7.2 earthquake and the typhoon

that they had and my expedite for the NVC was approved so now we are at the embassy

stage. By the time we are finished with the whole process it will be a year since we have

seen each other. If your wife lives in the area where the typhoon and earthquake happened

you can request for and expedite of the NVC stage and if approved they will send your file

directly to the embassy in manila.

Here is where you send your expedite request

You have to answer questions truthfully, which you did. If you don't have vaccinations done, then put no. Some of us do have vaccinations, so those people put yes. It doesn't really matter what answer you put as you'll be getting the required vaccinations at the medical.

You can go back into the form and correct it now.

you mean i can still change it even though she already submitted and got  her confirmation?

The temporary green card once endorsed in the USA is only valid for 1 year after POE.

Please go here: http://www.uscis.gov...s-immigrant-fee

You have to pay a $165 fee and sign up on the ELIS website to get the 2 year green card.

I already went to the ELIS site and paid the 165.00 I thought that's the way it was but I wasn't sure.

when paying the payment I had some trouble when it said processing payment all the sudden it said

payment failed. I logged out and back in again to try to pay again but it wouldn't let me and on case

status it said payment submitted. I checked my bank account and they withdrew the money yesterday.

Can you tell me how long it takes for payment status to go from submitted to paid?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInfo pass

I tried to set an info pass appt for Philadelphia, Pa. I was told no service adopts we're being taken check back later!
I realized that it has only been 4 months, but it don't want to be forgotten. I also called USCIS and was told that my case is in Missouri and to expect an additional 7 months. I am so frustrated right now.

The CR1 process from start to finish takes about a year total.

My wife is from the Philippines I filed her petition Jan.19th 2013 with the USCIS

and received NOA1 with priority date of Jan.22nd 2013. We were approved by

the USCIS on Nov.4th 2013. That is a period of about 9.5 months from NOA1

to NOA2 and during that time I had 2 info passes but scheduled my 1st one

after 8 months of waiting and nothing happened. I waited 3 weeks and scheduled

my 2nd info pass and actually talked to the immigration officer who 4 days later

approved my wife's petition. After approval by the USCIS on Nov.4th our file was

transferred Nov.8th to the NVC. On Nov.13th 2013 I asked for expedite at the NVC

stage and was approved so our file was sent directly to the embassy. Dec.18th she

had her medical exam and passed. Jan.6th 2014 she had her interview and Jan.8th

2014 she received her visa.  Info passes do work just wait a little bit longer.

Best Of Luck

Hello everyone I just have a question our case was transfered to NVC last Nov 8 . And nvc and we requested for expedite, we still dont have a case number from nvc and nvc informed us that US Embassy manila is reviewing our request and the asked us to provide 2 foreign phone numbers. My question is, what if our request will be granted does it mean that we will bypass nvc stage and deal directly with the embassy in manila? What about the ds-260 form and the fees.?I appreciate all the information that we can get.thank you

If you need to correct anything on the DS 260 you need to let the NVC know first so they can go in system and correct it for you.

NVC will not entertain us anymore coz we bypass that stage everything was forwarded to the embassy. NVC did not touch our papers even my payment it should be done to the embassy.

hi my interview will be on January 6,2014.Our case were expedited and we bypass nvc stage nvc forward our case file directly to US Embassy Manila Dec. 2 and ceac updated our status to "Ready" for interview. I was the one who set my Interview appointment online and I haven't received any instructions yet from the embassy. But since ceac is updated I proactively set my appointment Jan 6,2014.

I'm planning to have my medical on Dec 18 however I'm worried since im still coughing and afraid that it will affect my medical exam and one of my problem right now is my DS-260 form I missed to put my middle name on the given names field and since i already confirmed it I can no longer edit it. I'm wondring if I can  correct this on my interview.
