IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	How do you open a joint bank account when living in different countries???	You guys are awesome, Im so tearful right now. I feel like one half of me is missing, I know you all understand that feeling. It helps knowing we're not alone in this,although Im sorry we have to go through it. I guess the best bet is to contact my bank, I'm starting to inform all my bill providers etc tomorrow about my change of name,so Im thinking when I've informed the bank I'll ask if they'll accept the joint cheque. Eric and I Skype for hours, we read the daily newspapers and put the world to rights, I think I'm ok with our communication together its more about how to cope alone......here in the UK without him. I keep looking down at my wedding ring,and at our gifts and cards.......the wedding balloons are sat deflating now. It's just so lonely without him here. I'm looking into visiting for a while during the proccess but afraid it will effect my chances of being approved. Im always given such a hard time at RDU POE even though Ive never overstayed and am a model citizen whilst in the US (and of course here!!!! ) I'm going to get my passport photo's done tomorrow and get them in the post so he can file the I-130,I sent him back with copies of my birth certificate and other various papers he may need. I can't believe I was 34 when I met him,and I'll be nearly 40 by the time this whole process is completed,its been a long haul and a rollercoaster ride but I wouldn't change meeting him for one second. I may however be a bit loopy at the end of it all!!!! Skype while watching a tv show or something together. Be creative. yes skype is a wonderful thing.... we to have skype dates my friends laugh they know thats all we have... but its better than nothing we do dinner and a movie together and we even leave skype on when we go to sleep and he likes to watch me sleep..lol it helps with the waiting... yes be creative plus its a god way to talk with his family also.... Hi guys, My darling Eric and I got married in Edinburgh on the 25th,I dropped him at Manchester airport today and to be honest I feel awful,I'm so angry with this whole process,that we have to live apart for goodness knows how long whilst the CR1 is completed,I know you all must have felt or feel the same way:-( Aaaaanyway,I have a question, we recieved a few cheques as wedding gifts in our married name,yet we haven't got a joint bank account yet seeing as he's in the US and I'm in the UK........is there anyway we can open one whilst being so far apart? Or will I have to get the kind folks that sent us the cheques to redo them just in my name? I know someone who husband is from there and this is the recommendation he gave me about living there for 2 years he said being from Tunisia makes it more diffcult to come here..... which i havent heard any of that yet and i figured no matter where you are from its not gonna be easy.... yea i know someone from there also my fiance best friend.... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	living abroad	If you want to move there and then come back yes you would have to either find a job over here where you make enough money to sponsor your husband or find a co-sponsor. If you now have a job where you make enough money, why don't you just fly over, get married in his home country and then you fly bak and start the visa process. I Mailed my I129f packet on April 23, 2012 and sent it with delivery confirmation. I received the delivery confirmation on April 28, 2012 that it was signed for. I have not received ANYTHING from them stating that they have received it even though I submitted a form requesting email notification. Can someone tell me what's going on? Thank you for all the quick and intelligent replies Vanessa&Tony: I don't have a way to scan the RFE, I assure you I typed it exactly as it was stated including the bold type, underline, and bullet in the same exact places. Anh map: Prior to submitting my petition, my fiance and I were last together from December 18th 2011 until January 1st 2012. I filed the petition on February 24th. We've been together two other times since then (Last time was earlier this month) but I assume that isn't what you were referring to. dwheels76: Yes, we were together in person just 2 months before filing the petition. I believe the person I was transferred to was a tier 2 person. In case she wasn't I asked if there was another officer with whom I could speak and she firmly said "NO, we can not help you" again I really feel she thought I was not giving her all the info on my RFE because she said it was too vague. I agreed and said "Yes, that is the purpose of my call." Also, my camera doesn't do the time stamp sooo..... but as I said, at the time (as my passport proves) I had only been to one other country in my life (Lebanon) and my fiance has never been to the US so there is no other options as to when these pictures could have been taken. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	290b for 129f	my 129f got denied due to missing documents i didn t send proves that my fiance and i have met in last 2 years i did send all required documents with 290b. no one can tell me how long the wait is or what is the processing time for 290b it is so frustrating i getting depressed and feel like i am at dead end road please if any body had to file 290b for 129f let me know how long it took to get an answer ! i too AM filing for 129f for my fiance from Tunisia my attorney told me the whole process takes 5-7 months.... She is a U.S Citizen and makes well above the level..i just wanted to make sure that her residing in another state wouldn't be an issue. Another question for anyone: Do you have to show you have accomodation? For example, in the UK you have to show that you have a residence that is big enough for your entire family. Is that a requirement for the US as well? no its not but they do ask for ur lanlords info if you rent i have an attorney and make sure u have evidence that the 2 of you have met in the last 2 years and save anything u can from that meeting especially pics and any online conversations etc.... uscis websites has all the info u need...	habibi11	Female	Tunisia	2012-07-24 21:45:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Medical in jamaica Review	My medical was at Hope Medical center in Mobay. I got there at 12PM for a 12:30 appointment. Apparently i found out that they just schedule a bunch of peeps for the same time cause i met some other peeps there who said there have 12 30 appointments too. First thing i did was check in and they took my appointment letter to confirm and ask for my passport photos and immunization card if i had. after they prepare a file for me, my name was called, and i went inside and they took some blood to do all the blood test. After that i was called to do my chest X ray in another room. As soon as i was finished, they called me to do my height and weight in another room and then told me to sit while they check my immunization record to determine the shots im going to need which was dt and varicella (chicken pox). I was directed to pay for everything at that point. i paid $15 500 in total, $9900 for the medical and the rest for the shots the varicella cost $5500. they then called me to the room to get shots. All of this was completed within 1.5 to 2 hours. From then, we had to wait until the doctor got in to do the physical and fill out the forms. There first do the eye test to see what your vision is like and after wards your called in to see the doctor based on the order you did the vision test. once inside the doc will ask some questions and do his thing (15-20 mins) after your done, you go back into a room for instructions on when to come pick up the medical in a sealed envelope to take to the interview Hope this helped. was that medical price over $5000& $9900 or is it $55.00 and $99.00 im confused on ur prices sorry	habibi11	Female	Tunisia	2012-08-29 21:35:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Just got back from my Congressman's office	I am currently at day 179, which I know is slightly under the 6 months I read you should wait, but I couldn't take it any more and the office is just down the street. I felt like I needed someone on my side... Unfortunately, that person is certainly not going to be in Congress. I didn't so much want someone to bump my application to the top or the like, but I wanted to hear that my wait was normal and my time was close at hand. OR, that I had done something grossly incorrect that I needed to fix. It was a government office, so I wasn't terribly shocked at the lack of kindness but it plainly set the tone for my experience. I, with great hope, gave the immigration person my reference number and she went to work. After a short while she returned and told me that my application was with an officer and that was all she could provide... which is fine. I asked her, from her experience, what she thought was a reasonable timeline. She informed me that I had probably 2 more months before my NOA2. To which I balked because, from all my research, VSC is processing at around 6 months. She then asked if I was lecturing her on how to do her job and I politely responded in the negative but it didn't get much better from there. She asked why I was in such a hurry. "I was hoping to have my fiancee and her family over for Thanksgiving and I don't feel like displeasure with a 6-8 month wait is vastly impatient", I responded.... She laughed and said that I would be lucky if she made it over by new year and that I was indeed simply being impatient. She then began to quiz me on what I included in my I-129f packet. I passed everything except for the personal references she mentioned. She said that I should have included 3 personalized letters from my peers and because I didn't I would positively receive a RFE. Does anyone know if this is true? My packet was extremely detailed with ample proof but no letters from friends or coworkers... Ok, I think that's it for my rant. Really just a long post asking about references but I would appreciate and thoughts on this. Thanks as always, Team. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Visa fiancée time frame and cost	In my case took me 6 month and 15 days since the moment we filled until I had my visa in hand. Took me 4 month to get the noa2 or aproval. Compare to cr1 (petition for a foreign spouse) up o 8 to 12 month. My processing time is the average, but depends on every case and if you got an RFE or not. But usually takes 5 to 11 month (rare cases). When I started my journey a year ago( exactly today), we talk to a lawyer and only the k1 proces was near 2,500dls (last year) and for the AoS another 3000. We decide to followed the guides ad we had and amazing journey without rfe or dlays. Now im waiting for my EAD nd my greencard interview. So far so good. No lawyers i had an attorney do paperwork for me for the K1 process bc i was afraid i wasnt gonna do it correctly then i found this site... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Lawyer or no lawyer?	A lady I work with came here on a K1 visa from India and said it only took her 2 months. She said her son married someone and did the same thing. She said it was this quick because she used a lawyer. Is this true? I'd never thought it was necessary to hire a lawyer for this if you can do the paperwork yourself. Why is there such a vast difference in processing times? I'm majorly frustrated because I can't even start this process yet...am still suffering through custody battle/divorce hell. It'll likely be another year at least before I can bring my fiance here. : ( Anything to make it go faster once I'm free to apply is what I'm hoping for. Hopefully it's something simple. Just make a copy of the RFE for your records and send the blue sheet back on top with the requested documents so it can be routed back to your adjudicator.
