More people meet online nowadays than in bars and clubs combined. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Birth Certificate Question for interview	i took a the new version of my birth certificate. where is she from? She is from Mexico (Puebla). She ordered a birth certificate last year when she had to renew her passport so I would imagine it is the new version. It contains her parent's names and nationality, but no other information about them. I've read that long form birth certificates have more information about the parents like dates and places of birth, but it might just be the US that does that. I don't even know if Mexico has long form or short form certificates. I think they just have one kind. The only information hers has is her parent's names and nationality. If that's all you're planning on meeting before going through with the whole process, you better make the most of it. Take lots of pictures and save everything! As far as which is faster (marriage or K-1) check the marriage requirements in Gambia. You may find that you have to do a dozen things before they will allow you to marry. This question was one of the most aggravating of the whole process as no one could give a straight answer. Anyway, to provide closure to the topic, we did schedule the interview before getting the letter. The day after scheduling it online, I got the invitation letter from the consulate in the mail. Mail from Mexico may be slow, but it's right across the border! All they have to do is carry it across the line and then it's in the US mail system. Yeah, I'm not sure what to expect now. I'm corresponding with someone else who scheduled all the appointments today without waiting for the letter to come because the person helping them with this said they can do that and request a letter at the consulate. Now I'm wondering if I'm just sitting here waiting for something that won't come. I've been told the consulate gives a lot of misinformation and it even says here that, "***Consulate staff does not provide accurate information via phone. I just pulled up the date list of conversations, highlighted some dates, and scrolled to a part of the conversation that I thought was good to take to the interview and did a screen print of it. Skype doesn't even have a message archive. What's the best way to present the chat messages for the interview? Should I just do a screen print of the message archive list? I must have put 20 hours into putting it together and organizing it and they didn't even open it once at the interview! We got approved! We are using accordion style folder with labels such as Financial for all tax docs/bank statements etc so if they ask for something we can find it right away. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Still haven't received the visa	Supposedly we were approved. Now they are saying it takes 2-3 weeks to issue the visa. Why, then, does EVERYONE else have it already who interviewed then. People that interviewed after us have it. So it takes 2-3 weeks just to issue ours? What the hell is going on? When I called last week, they said it takes 6 to 8 weeks. My fiancee called this morning and they said 2-3 weeks. Other posts I've read say that it can be in AP up to 6 months, a year, or even over a year! I sent an email to the consulate and just got a vague response about the 2-3 weeks. So what happens next week when there is still no tracking number? Will they then change their response to say that it takes 6-8 weeks and to keep waiting? If I don't hear something soon I will go crazy. I'm ready to drop everything and leave my family and this country & go to Mexico just to put an end to this so we can be together. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	How long does it take to receive the visa after approval at the interview?	just because others have had it in a few days doesn't mean everyone elses will take that long there is a list of things that could slow it down, courier problems being one of them (i.e courier was unable to complete their route) it took me nearly 2 weeks to get mine when i was told 3-5 days Thanks, though I'm being told it hasn't even been sent yet so apparently it's not a courier issue. I would think that if DHL has picked up our stuff from the consulate that it would at least have a tracking number. Our interview was on September 22nd and we were approved and told that we would have the visa within 5 business days. Well, we're soon passing that timeframe and when I look at timelines of others who were approved in Juarez, it generally took 2-4 days to get it. Everyone that interviewed around the same time as my fiancee already has their visa. What is going on?!? I felt releived and now I'm getting sucked back into this K-1 waiting hell. Unfortunately, the Consulate closes on the last Friday of each month. Also, it was the end of the federal government's fiscal year. I work for the government and every year at this time my office is a mad house. I imagine it must have been so at the Consulate. You will have your visa soon.
